My Optimus G is rooted, I've replaced the files in /system/media/audio/ui; "Lock.ogg" and "Unlock.ogg". I can preview the sounds in Root Explorer and they work perfectly, but I cannot get them to play when I lock/unlock the phone.
Any help is appreciated.
EDIT: Permissions for the sound files are also set as: rw-r-r.

Hey,
What lockscreen do you use?
If it's dewdrop so the sound is dewdrop_lock.ogg and dewdrop_unlock.ogg
you can also change owner permission to 0-root

in root explorer if you select the file.ogg, you have "permissions" and at the bottom there is "change owner"
but I think the files that you change is not the good one (the sound must have the same name as the lockscreen).

I've been using Ripple, but I'm gonna switch to Basic for the new sounds. That would make it "basic_lock.ogg/basic_unlock.ogg"? The .ogg file works when previewed in Root Explorer, the problem is getting the system to incorporate it.
But Ripple lockscreen have 8 sounds so this is more complicated than change only 2 sounds...

I just found this when I was browsing through the content of framework-res.apk. Maybe some of us has been able to mod this, but if you don't have time or can't mod this. You can use this.
I modded the framework-res.apk to allow the all-directions rotation and also rotation on the lockscreen. If you want to use this, download this file and copy to system/framework/ and change the permissions into rw-r--r--.
Screenshots (only on lockscreen, the screenshots of the others rotation are only the same. The difference is you can use your phone on any angle with the all-directions rotation, hahaha.)

If you still have the boot animation stored in your phone, you don't have to worry. You just have to remove the bootanimation from the temporal location. Normally when an app installs a boot animation it stores the files into a semi-permanent location:
/system/media/bootanimation.zip
But the stock bootanimation is stored in the permament location:
/data/local/bootanimation.zip
Check with rootexplorer or other root file manager app if you still have the stock bootanimation in the permanent location; if the files are still there, the you only have to remove the bootanimation.zip file from the semi-permanent location (/system/media/ easy fix 1). If you deleted these files, then you will have to look for stock bootanimations, and insert the files in the permanet location (/data/local/ easy fix 2). Or do a fresh stock install (time demanding fix). Either way, good luck, I hope you get your boot animation back in your device! :good:

This is not a flashable zip, just use ROM Toolbox or any other root app that inserts bootanimations, or use root explorer to manually place the files in /system/media/ and rename the file to bootanimation.zip with permissions rwxr-xr-x

Man, which part of "pristine installation" didn't you get? How will you have a pristine/clean installation when you're not willing to wipe anything prior to that installation? I mean, doesn't that defy something in logic? ) Please tell me, cause this is something i don't understand.
Please read here and follow all the steps described over there for a clean installation of the ROM. Any ROM.

Ah, ok. That was not very clear. For Trebuchet.apk, you've got two options:
1. Download the apk on the phone, use a good file explorer with root permissions (I would recommend using X-plore set up for root access) and copy-paste the apk into /system/app. Don't forget to set permissions to 644.
2. Enter CWM and:
Flash this zip file
Wipe cache partition.
Wipe dalvik cache (under the "advanced" sub-menu)
Reboot

Hey Chad, what's up man. It's been awhile.
Hey @metalfan78 great mod! How do I edit the dialer sounds? I just flashed the "all in one flashable" but the dial sound when I dial numbers are still the droplet sound. TIA man.
Really? Try pushing the SecContacts apk to priv-app, change permissions and reboot. Did the system-wide sounds change?
Just in case, this is what the permissions should look like
