hey man, my suggestion would be to upgrade your ROM via a pristine installation. beta3 is out and its very stable
but heres Trebuchet.apk extracted from beta3 for you https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6YppUhGAbPtZjNSZmJnYnkwNFU/edit?usp=sharing
dont forget to click thanks!
Just need to isntall it right?
No need to wipe it?
Thanks

Man, which part of "pristine installation" didn't you get? How will you have a pristine/clean installation when you're not willing to wipe anything prior to that installation? I mean, doesn't that defy something in logic? ) Please tell me, cause this is something i don't understand.
Please read here and follow all the steps described over there for a clean installation of the ROM. Any ROM.

Ah, ok. That was not very clear. For Trebuchet.apk, you've got two options:
1. Download the apk on the phone, use a good file explorer with root permissions (I would recommend using X-plore set up for root access) and copy-paste the apk into /system/app. Don't forget to set permissions to 644.
2. Enter CWM and:
Flash this zip file
Wipe cache partition.
Wipe dalvik cache (under the "advanced" sub-menu)
Reboot

I'm not quite sure why don't you simply flash the zip I made for you. But ok.
Have a look here for a detailed explanation of what that means.

If you did flash the zip, you don't need to worry about anything else. That's why I didn't mention anything about it for the second point.

Put the zip on your memory card...easiest isn't in a folder, boot into recovery and select install zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard and then select the zip file. It will say it's complete hit the return button and then reboot
I've been trying to add the apk but XDA keeps crashing when I try to attach it...I'll try another way here soon I guess

No matter what I do, I can't find it in the widget list. Even after a reboot. What am i missing? The ROMs are compatible, same Sense version. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

So you are trying to push the HtcClockWidget.apk from your pc to your phone? Have you tried using a file manager to move the file to the app folder?

Have you set group and owner to root? Actually pushing from a pc should give it the correct owner and group, using a file explorer wont. Other than that im not sure why it wont show up.

Thank you, but I just restored a nandroid. I was trying to get the EVO classic minimal flip clock on my current hybrid. I'm gonna look at the EVO mikg hybrid. It got a theme with the same clock.
Edit: Just did it the hard way. I just replaced all the .png files and pushed.

hi guys,
im running into problems.
after using kitchen and signing my rom etc, I try to flash it but it says:
Code:
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot" android
I saw many people have this problem, and some say coverting to edify works.
however edify is not supported by newer recoveries.
any devs faced this problem and know how to fix??
Nope. Never had this problem. Just download Phiexz's or Delanoiter's kernel and look at the updater-script. Just copy the boot.img part

Yes you can still use your boot.img
In the updater-script look for the process where it's flash the kernel / boot.img

Yes you need Notepad++.
Select all your text and go to Edit > EOL Conversion > UNIX Format
And if you want to see the hidden format look at the picture below. It should say LF for UNIX and CR LF for Windows

You can erase unneeded spaces if you want to but it's not necessary.

@OP, I'm sorry if I mess up your thread to answer demonofhell question
@demonofhell, if you want to change bootanimation on your stock rom
your device should be rooted first.
you need 2 files called bootanimation and samsungani in /system/bin directories
and new animation called sanim.zip in /system/media directory.
Note: Always backup your rom before do any change to your device, and
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR DEVICE, DO WITH YOUR OWN RISK
Open root explorer, backup original bootanimation & samsungani at /system/bin
and backup your original sanim.zip at /system/media
you can download bootanimation on first post.
seems like on first post didn't mentioned flashable file
so you can rename it to sanim.zip
push manually to /system/media
set permissions to RW- R-- R-- (attachment below)
latest, you need 2 files to push on your /system/bin
download this file, extarct,
you will get 2 files bootanimation and samsungani inside extracted folder
and push manually extracted files to /system/bin
set files permissions to RWX R-X R-X (attachment below)
reboot device.

Yeah I tried this too and it didn't work. The Desire Z is compatible though so all you need to do is follow the guide further on down: just open up the zip, locate the script you want (e.g for 100MB in cache, open zip and go to swap/cache/100/etc/init.d/ and copy the 98swap_cache_v300 file out). Then copy it to system/etc/init.d and make sure the permissions are 755 and root.root.
