01/17/2009 - PocketCM Keyboard 0.23 (wifi)

I've just released a new version of PocketCM Keyboard.
The version is a complete rewrite of PocketCM Keyboard, so consider it as alpha! It's mainly intended for skinner out there who want to make nice skins.
0.23 is up!

just an afterthought.. is the 0.14 dictionary and skin files still applicable on this new engine/version? because i hate to redo all my added words in my dictionary.. and i've kinda got used - and i mean very USED.. to the point that i no longer look at the screen when i type - to my home made skin.. and i'm still thinking of using them even on this new version..

The word.txt appears to work, but how do I use my old .layout files? Also, what's the settings title bar name? I want to add a whitelist for ftouchsl, but the settings menu covers up the entire screen even if I try to change the window.
If I go through the system Settings page and click Options under Input, I get a popup that says "UserOptionsDlg"

same here doesn't work as expected in my vga screen

+1 for the popup when trying to go into options menu "UserOptionsDlg"
other than that it seems as fast and functional as know for
the only thing that kept it from beeing perfect for me was the bug with the word suggestion, when you had to hit the back button to get a number to send a message to

I took a look at the manila.zip.. and it has all the images.
for some reason though, the keyboard, when selected as manila skin, does not look like it is using the png images.
dream and manila look the same, i cant seem to switch between (or there is no difference registering).
does it show up for you tene? or any one else?

everytime I choose a different skin other than the 2 defaults "Dream" & "manilla" it reverts back to 1 of them. Are the previous .zip skins still compatible with this version?

This new version wouldn't even let me open the options. I get a pop up & when I click ok, it doesn't open.

go into messaging then bring up keyboard then choose PCM keyboard...once the default PCM keyboard pop's up then hold down on the PCM keyboard "Return" key which will then pop up to allow to change "options".

Thanks a lot for your work. I am really looking forward to the one with the better icons. In any case it works perfect as an initial release.
Furthermore, it's good that apart from the GPS button I managed to re-assign the File Explorer which was originally assigned to the default one.

Silly question, I guess.. but what initiates the action screen?
Do you have to assign it to a button or is it linked to the status screen that appears when you click the battery icons or something?

to make the gps button work go to registry to the key i wrote to the 1st post and input the path and the executable to work(only works for now with .exe files)
i.e. \windows\poutlook.exe or \Storage Card\IGO8\igo8.exe
you must write it without ""
I will try my best to release tommorow a new one with much better icons
if you want you can provide me with png icons of 159x120height (pixels) or 120x120 2 frames for each icon (1 for focus 1 for pressed)

I had the same with my IGO8
Now it is working, the only thing I've changed is making the .exe extension lowercase.
Great app btw. Looking forward to some new skins.

I've already editted it by assigning GekoNewCal to the appointments (and IGO8), but I don't know how to apply this change for the BT icon.

In case you use ThumbCal and want to re-assign the buttons to open ThumbCal's functions, then:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\APP_3
Param: calendar -new
Path \Program Files\ThumbCal\ThumbCal.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen\APP_4
Param: tasks -new
Path \Program Files\ThumbCal\ThumbCal.exe
and then soft reset.
The same applies if you want to re-map File Explorer (no need for parameters there), GPS (same) or notepad (leave the parameter as it is and it should work perfectly - I re-assigned the notes button to VSNotepad2 by leaving the -n param and it opens the new note)
@metkosas: I think it would be nice to add in the first post that the application is placing itself on its own on the right soft key so if people have the right soft key reassigned know beforehand and also to avoid questions "I installed the application. Where can I find it now?"

Go to registry hklm-software-htc-manila and there is homeLSKpath + homeLSKtext (for left softkey)
for right softkey hklm-software-htc-manila homeRSKtext + homeRSKpath
for change the text only you change the home(LR)SKtext only.

I have 2 e-mail accaunts instaled:
1. Outlook (exchange)
2.Gmail accaunt
So, when i press on mail icon - it starts Gmail (new e-mail From: Gmail accaunt)
Is ther a possibility make to start Outlook e-mail instade?

rotate screen via button press?

has this been done, I have tried the gsensor programs and they work ok but not always perfect, for example you want to type a message first you have to wait till the program is loaded then rotate otherwise you have to rotate back and forth until the screen is how you want it. What I would really like is an app where when you press both volume up and volume down the screen goes into landscape(or long hold of end key but i think both volume would be better)
is this available? I couldnt find it anywhere.

Perhaps you could use MortScript to rotate and assign it by "AE Buttons" to longpress VolUp. Also thought about it - but had no time yet.
Espacially cause I need landscape only in my car and wanted to rotete it by "BlueStarter" & Mortscript. But I dont know how to automatically change back to "portrait" if bluetooth device is not detected anymore.

I have been using this as I didnt like any of the auto-rotate programs.

Hi because of your post I installed advanced config along with hd tweak and find my device seems more responsive after changing a few things which is great, so thanks for that. but I cannot figure out how to assign a button to change orientation what option am I missing?

Not too sure bout the advance config program, but this is wat i did for manual screen rotation:
settings --> buttons --> Program Buttons (tab) --> 2. Assign a program: select <Rotate Screen>
Now everytime you press and hold the "Call" key, the screen should rotate...

Hi guys thanks for the advice, I tried what you have suggested but for some reason my long call press isnt recognized, no matter what action I tell it to take.
I fear I will need to do a hard reset to sort out my phone even though I only just flashed a new rom and put in all my settings.

I've just been trying this out and too cannot assign anything to the send button. No matter what I tell it to do nothing happens!
I'm currently running Dutty 3.7 rom.

PERFECT and no need for any advanced config

i dont have the "screen rotate" option too in my settings.
install advanced config-->start advanced config--> go to "screen"-->enable "show orientation settings" -->end adv config
go to start-->settings-->personal-->buttons--> and now you have the opotion "rotate screen"
after this you can rotate the screen on long press the call button.

I have the option, its just long press of call button doesnt register whith rotation or any other option I select

alternatively, install the small utility that I created so that I can choose the orientation mode from the button that I've mapped to.

I want to share my Start Menu concept for Windows Mobile.
As we know, the new honeycomb start menu in 6.5 is hard to use, because the icons are not sorted. We can move a program to top, but we can't sort it alphabetically.
May be it will be good if someone can make this start menu replacement.

Here's the explanation :
1. As seen in the picture, the start menu "level" is like in the older WM than 6.5 (we have see white gradient on the start button). In 6.5, the start menu is like a folder which contains all the shortcut.
2. All apps will not displayed in Honeycomb. Honeycomb is only for favourite app. Because, in Favourite app, we don't need to sort all the objects alphabetically. Also, tap&hold will bring some menu, including "move item", not "move to top".
Sliding to right or left, will switch to task manager (running apps), still in honeycomb style..
For Smartphone edition (non-touch), no honeycomb, just a normal icons.
3. The left soft key open the programs menu
The program menu is very similar to Spb Mobile Shell Launcher, with some differences :
a. The programs menu will load all the shortcut (without icon)
In lower priority, icons will be loaded, without eating resources, so we can quickly scroll down, and launch the app we want.
b. It will be closed when an app is launched.
4. The right soft key open the settings menu
a. Just take the older WM settings screen. We don't need eye-candy settings screen, because we will not open it everyday.
Now, would you make this start menu replacement. I'm not a programmer..

Million A$ idea...but i am also unfortunately poor in programming ..but i hope soon it will be formulated..

In Rhodium Start Menu, HTC didn't add honeycomb
No white gradient to indicate the start menu is opened, like in older WM.
No Task Manager
The Program menu hasn't organized folders (for example : games), and items are displayed in list instead of grid/thumbnails
The last one, I can't get it in my Raphael and Hermes !!
EDIT: I can get it in my Raphael but I prefer the Panoramic Launchpad than Manila Start Menu..

Looking for help from you themers on Message icon

Ok you great Themer's Overstew and Tiffany have been of great help to me on theming my phone, as are a bunch of you other great and helpful people here. See if you can figure this out for me please.
I am running Calk's 1.5a + ICS 1.6 theme. Tiffany made a cool blue theme Messaging app, that is for the stock Samsung text, she did a fantastic job . But I have to say the stock Samsung messaging app is a piece of garbage, and belongs in the trash bin Pissed me off so much last week, in how limited it is, compared to my favorite GO SMS. On the Samsung text, if you get a picture text, you have no option to save it, and good luck forwarding that pic, I tried several times keeps saying "sending..." And then my Brother was texting me a "V-card" with a cousins address info, normally I can grab that vcard and it goes right to my Google contacts, not in the Samsung text, it read it as some ****ing audio file or some **** Basically I will NEVER use the stock Samsung text messagin again, GO SMS is light years ahead of it in functionality, and some cool ICS themes are out for it.
Rant over...my question is this, so I am using GO SMS now, and I want it in the bottom launcher bar, with the 5 rows, I go to "Application" press "Edit" and drag the GO SMS icon down in the bottom 5 row launcher, but it does not show missed texts with the little red # in the corner, it just shows the green GO icon, I have to use a tiny Widget of GO SMS to show missed texts, I put that on the home screen, and tried dragging that down into the launcher, but it does not allow drag and drop icons from the home screens ?
What I would love if somehow possible, is Tiffany's cool blue Messaging icon there instead, but when I press it, have it launch GO SMS instead of going to the default Samsung Messaging, is that possible ? I know on some other launchers I think you can set it to launch a different app, but still show the default icon ?

And this is how it looks with the GO SMS icon down there, but never shows a little red icon # next to it, and I hate the green color of it too;

Sprint Galaxy S2 w/ Calk's 1.5a + ICS 1.6

If you can pull the apk all you have to do is swap the icon from the one you want to your app of choice. You would have to resign the app so that it works and push back to the system. That is all they are doing to my knowledge. If you can pull the apk to a computer, open it with an archive program like 7zip and you might not even have to sign it, just drag the images you want in there and go. Otherwise apps like desktop visualizer don't allow you to use the widget badges for numbers and messages etc.

Stew are you sure thats the GoSMS apk, all there is in there are tools for apk's.

Just push or flash the apk that Overstew sent you, then somewhere in settings there may be an option for missed messages. Or use a widget that may come with it?
