Hey!
I bought new sd card today. (Kingston microSDHC 8GB class 10)
So, I've created new partition with CWM (2GB) and I flashed enhanced236, and flashed INT2EXT+ script, and nothing. I have 180MB internal memory.
I don't get it. What am I doing wrong?

Try formatting sd-ext and repartition ur sdcard then mount system and flash the script! Should work did for me!

I've just formatted sd-ext and mount data and system and flashed the script again, and now it works as I see.
Thanks!
Actually I wanted to mount those things but that tutorial doesn't say to mount, so I didn't

Hi guys,
I couldn't find anything about this (I did try searching before posting this thread, so I hope I am not repeating a common question!).... I wish to unpartition my sd card and just go back to a normal fat32 partition....
So far I have tired windows disk management and Rom Manager, which just allows you to ADD a ext partition with no luck!
Can anyone else guide me how to achieve this?
Regards!

:O Thanks, which recovery should I be using? :s
System recover? clockworkmod using the fake flash method? because I don't see the Partition SD Card menu anywhere else and i've tried both!
I know its right in front of me somewhere, I just can't see it, D'oh!
use the one from rooting folder
Bah,
I ended up using GPart live cd to undo it!!
Thanks for the responses guys, hopefully this will help someone else who needs it!

That's fine, it's why I created the thread!
If you just want to partition you can use ROM Manager (but this requires root)
you need the recovery file (entitled 'pushfiles' or something) from the risk-free root package to partition/un-partition the card.
Else, you can use a GPart live CD, which makes it really easy!
Hope that helps buddy...

If you're using a2sd+ then you need to change your ext2 partition to ext3, Also, I don't believe that you need a swap partition anymore...
Try that!

lol, lets give the guy a break.... we all know it was a 256GB Flash card!
Anywhooo, I have another question, so I think i'll hijack my own thread!
Guys, whats the most efficient way to backup/restore and move apps between roms? I've ended up manually re-installing installed apps 2/3 times now, I was going between roms that did/didn't support a2sd. Also, should there be any consideration to any specific backup options available in the various tools?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, my phone got bricked using GPart live to turn my ext 2 into a 3 partition. Everything went fine using the program, turned off Usb storage, went into market and tried to download a program, when it started to install the screen when black.
Now I cant boot with sdcard in, I don't come past the white HTC screen
Without SDcard it starts loading the system but the loading is a never ending loop.
Tried to format SD with fakeflash, dosent help
Tried reflashing my rom with wipe and everything, dosent help
Any ideas?

I would say, firstly try to get your phone working by wiping it clean and re flashing the rom. Use a different memory card just to get up and running. Then you can concentrate on fixing you card..
Although that seems like a very strange issue, are you sure you formatted your card correctly with GPart? (eg, exactly 512 MB/1024MB?) I'm a n00b myself so I would also wait for some of the more experienced users to offer their input. lol

Solved it by using AM recovery, repair + new partition solved the problem! Gonna reflash 2.0 again since i messed up the wiping somehow and then keep this until the rooted 2.2 is out!
So i have a case. When i try to format/ reset factory settings via recovery i get this strange error that my sd-ext can't be formatted because of the /dev/block/mmcblk0 file existing. I don't know what to do. I have a stock sd card 2gb. Windows says that its 1.86GB. Any help?
Backup sdcard contents first.
Then don't format it from recovery. Just boot up the OS and format the memory card. But doing so deleted the extra partition also. It creates entire fat partition. Again you will have to repartition your sdcard to create ext again.
And if you still face errors, then there is a chance of sdcard being corrupted.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I've formatted it many times. Even downloaded mini tool partition wizard home edition(gpardted thingy windows version). Its still 1,86GB there's no partitions. Only a FAT32 card.
For a 2GB card you can only use around 1.8x GB . So I think it is correct. I just thought you had issue in formatting ext partition.

hang on... it doesn't allow you to format sd-ext because it doesn't exist.. EXT is a linux format, if your entire SD-Card is FAT-32 there's no EXT to format....

If you haven't made an EXT partition on your SD-Card then you will not be able to format SD-EXT because there is nothing to format... it's simple logic ... you can't delete something that doesn't exist
It said it does exist. Well, meh. I bought a new card. 8gb kingston ^^ 1gb ex3 partition

I know the Mason kernel supports ext. 4. Read the OP for the ROM you're using and make sure ext. 4 is supported.

If its a sense rom only underworld kernel and classic kernel support ext 4 and if its aosp rom mostly every kernel supports it.

Scratch what I said above. I forgot Energy is a Sense ROM, so you'll need a Sense ROM that supports ext. 4, assuming it's supported by the ROM.

1. Maybe your card doesn't support ext3 or
2. Format the whole card after you back up everything on it. Then do the partion and then move everything back to the SD card
3. Update ext1 to ext2
4. Wipe using superwipe or whatever method you use, flash the rom, same session flash your kernal underworld number 8 for your sense rom, then same session flash your apps2sd script I use cronmod INT2EXT4+ it moves your partion to your internal memory and I have 900mb on my internal memory 300 apps installed and 400mb of internal memory left and because its internal my phone is fast as hell with no lag.. then reboot and take a look around to see if the script stuck.. if so then get rid of armon installer use smelkous recovery you can go back into it and update your partion without having to format your SD card again.. so then you would update to ext3 but you may have to uninstall your app2sd script and then reflash it once you get your ext4 up and running.. I will link cronmod so you can read the op he also has a app2sd script as well

I rooted my desire 816 [still running the stock rom] and I wanted to try link2sd so I partitioned my SD card and created an ext4 primary partition.. opened link2sd app, installed mount scripts and restarted the phone but the ext partition is still unmounted.. tried ext2 but ended up with the same result!
searched a lot but found so many confusing topics that got me more confused!
what should I do to get the ext partition to be mounted on boot?!
also is app2ext better than link2sd? if so, then how to install it too?
thank you guys in advance..

Thanks! but I think the zip file is for enabling SD card write permissions only..
my problem is that the EXT partition I created doesn't mount on boot and I don't know how to enable that since I'm on stock rom not a custom one..
I am having the same problem. I even flashed that zip but It didn't help.
I had read somewhere that the Exp partition size should be 20% of the microSD card size at most. is it relevant here?
I've also made a Linux swap. the order of my partitions is :
1. fat 32 :15 GB primary, Active
2. Ext4 :now 5 GB primary (It would fail mount with Ext3)
3. Linux Swap : 1.5 GB

that zip is for re-enabling writing permissions on SD card which is disabled in KitKat by default.
------
you don't need that much for the ext partition.. it should be no more than 20% of the SD card size.
I guess you made the ext this size because of games, right? you should use foldermount instead.. It's AWESOME!!
