HTC One X VODAP102 RUU - HTC One X

I'd like to unroot my phone and go back to stock, coming from AOSP 4.2.2. My CID is VODAP102, is the anyone who happens to have a link to the RUU file of it?
since www.htcruu.com is down...

As far as I know, there is no RUU for this CID, but you could use nandroid instead. Try HERE, you will find what you need.
Also, check you main version, this is also important when choosing correct nandroid (and RUU, also).

Thanks for your reply.
My main version is 2.17.161.4, which is not listed with VODAP102. Should I take an other one, like VODAP001/2.17.161.4 or isn't this possible?

Actually, main version is more important for nandroid
I thought you were on JB already, sorry.
If you want to upgrade, use 2.17.161.4 nandroid, then flash OTA update, and then just choose custom ROM you want, or stay with crappy Voda stock :crying:
I went exactly the same way, and my One X is rocking Renovate Final 2 with xm #192. I love it!

I am on JB already (4.2.2). But I want to downgrade to my stock HTC (crappy Voda :crying rom.
So I shoud be just fine if I choose to nandrestore to 2.17.161.4 CID VODAP001, since the mainver is the same? Just for confirmation, I dont like to mess things up.
What happens to my CID after restore, since it is different? And my HBOOT?

I am not really sure about downgrading. Try searching here, I remember there were some threads about it.
CID is hardcoded to your phone, so it cannot be changed unless S-OFF (which is not coming soon to One X). HBOOT also should remain the same.
But, why in the world you would go back? Why don't you flash some custom ROM instead and enjoy the life? I would strongly recommend you to try Renovate, and then decide. :good:

Yeah with that nandroid you can fool the bootloader, restore it and also flash back the stock 2.17 stock recovery. You should be able to update to JB stock with official ota.
Your cid will be listed as the same as the nandroid backup but will be corrected when you do the ota.

Wait a bit, I read again your posting here.
If I'm not wrong, what you want is to unroot and revert to stock, right?

Okay, if so, why would you go back to ICS? I mean, nandroid mentioned in my post:

is also stock Voda, but JB.
If you want to sell it, it's just as good as ICS stock. If you want to service it, it's the same.
Nandroid that I posted is made from pure Voda JB stock, just after the OTA upgrade.

He can't run the JB version yet....when the main version is 2.17 ! He's on JB aosp....those roms also boots on the lower hboots. He should go back to stock and update .....

Alright, I see. Again, I was not reading carefully.
So, he could restore 2.17 stock nandroid, and JB will come OTA, so he will be good.

Correct !
Use the voda001 2.17.....copy it to the correct folder on the sdcard. Flash the boot.img with fastboot commands, perform a full wipe in recovery and restore the nandroid. Flash the stock 2.17 recovery and check in the phone settings - about - software updates to apply the official ota

Maybe I'll try Renovate Final 3 sometime, but first I want to revert it back to stock to return it to the store because of a hardware (camera) problem.
edit: Didn't see the second page. Thanks Mr Hofs! I'll try it out tomorrow!

Just a little warning to Solarr - because I've done it. You may need to follow this procedure:
What if i get MD5 Mismatch?
type in teminal:
Code:
adb shell
# cd /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/Name_of_the_nandbackup_folder
# rm nandroid.md5
# md5sum *img > nandroid.md5
Click to collapse
because the folder name may not be cwm compatible. Don't worry, if you get the mismatch message, just do the above, and you will be alright. :good:
At first boot, you will get one small OTA first, and then the big one with JB update.
Good luck!

Thank you very much. I couldn't wait to try it out so I already flashed it just before you posted. I did get the mismatch, so I removed all spaces from the foldername which did exactly the same job. Thanks anyway!
It works, I'm going to try to do an OTA update right now.

Got it all stock and running, thank you very much!

No problem !

[Q] How to restore my 3 Rom?

Hi,
I have been trying out a couple of custom roms and want to revert back to my backed up 3 rom. Problem is it wont boot after restoring, I'm assuming this is because I overwrote the boot.img to use the custom roms, is there anywhere I can get the stock boot.img for 3 branded phone please?
You can get it from the RUU
Anyone know where I can download a 3 ruu?

i reverted back to my backup 3 rom that came with the phone. but the problem was i needed the right boot.img. since i was on 1.26 firmware i flashed the 1.26 boot.img which i got from here
so what i did i flashed the boot.img then restored my backup and it worked. or you can restore then if it gives you bootloops then just go back into bootloader, fastboot and then just flash the boot.img from that thread and that is it.
worked for me so try it out..make sure you are on fully charged though
Can any of you please upload a full backup so I can restore to stock??
Can I still do this even if I have the latest hboot after a 1.28 OTA?
You need the 1.28 RUU (which doesn't exist) or a nandroid backup from someone on 1.28 (which isn't advisable)
You may have to stick with custom for now

the best thing you could of done is make a backup of your own stock rom that came with the phone. that is what i did. i got my stock rom back up which is 3 branded and all i did was restored back and flashed the OTA update. when i restored it did not reboot. all it needed was the stock boot.img and stock recovery. and that was it it worked perfectly. so do not know what the RUU business and what it does but if you have a backup and flash the correct stock recovery and boot.img depending on what firmware your backup was you would be fine

Three/HTC have not released the 1.28 RUU mate, so if I try and use all there is (1.26 RUU) it fails as my hboot is now a newer version after the 1.28 OTA from three.
And I have no nandroid backup.
Oops.

You need to wait for the 1.28 RUU mate.
Don't use a nandroid backup from someone else as all info from that nandroid backup will be for the owners device and not yours. So if you send it to HTC they'll see the serial numbers don't match up. Plus the nandroid will have personal data from the owner on most of the time.

HTC releases them and it is up to the network to decide really when to release it due to the software i would presume that goes onto the branded handsets. which sucks really. just like say ICS when it came out. really it should of been a global release like ios for apple but due to OEM's like Samsung and htc we have to wait till they decide when to release it due to the customization they do to the updates..similar to the updates we should be getting but we have to wait for 3 to get their asses in check

It really does suck being at the mercy of networks for these updates.
As you say with iOS for example, there is one version from Apple - keeps it simple!

and I have noticed that NO MATTER I CHANGE...IT WONT CHANGE THIS VERSION... OMG
tks man!
You need to relock your bootloader (if you haven't already) and run THIS RUU.
The problem is that the version of software you're running (2.17) is newer than the RUU you're trying to install (1.29). you can't revert to an older RUU. you can only flash the same version or newer.
Once you've flashed the RUU, you'll be able to download and install the JB OTA.

You don't need stock recovery to flash an RUU. You just need a locked or relocked bootloader, and a less or equal main-version.
Once you run an RUU, you will have stock everything(including recovery) and will be able to install whatever OTAs are available.
Well I am currently running Team Venom's Viper but I have HBOOT 1.31. My device's CID is HTC_J15.
I have checked the list of RUUs but unfortunately all of them are older than the version I need, which has to be 3+.
Does anybody know if there's an RUU available for my device? It is an ubranded WWE version, 401 if I remember correctly.

In my experience the 2.17.707.xx RUU Asia WWE does not work properly. It does its thing installing everything, relocks the bootloader but somehow it does not reflash the recovery. After 4 hours trying everything under the sun, I gave up and looked for a nandroid of 2.17 for CID_044 and restored from that, reflashed stock recovery and went to town with the OTA.
That's very strange, no such problem when I did the same thing. You'd think it would throw an error or something if a component of the image failed to flash.
Glad you managed to figure it out!
Did you run it when your bootloader was unlocked? Maybe that's the problem? I ran it with the bootloader relocked and didn't ahve any problems. I was under the impression you couldn't run an RUU with an unlocked bootloader, but haven't tried it myself.
Refer custom to stock thread posted earlier. Go through step by step procedure. It will help u to be on stock Rom. After that flash any Rom suitable to your CID only

Got It guys!!
What I did... NOTHING else...
Only Reboot the phone...wait to initialize completely, then reboot again, when came a little update about 1.25mb...installed and reboot...after that...JB update installed correctly.
If someone else needs...Someone like me who relocked the phone waiting for JB and Has problems
1. Unlock Phone
2. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (from nandroid 2.17)
3. fastboot flash boot boot.img (from nandroid 2.17)
4. fastboot erase cache
5. restart bootloader (I like to do this way)
6. Install RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.17.707.3_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_278245_signed on windows
7. Wait to boot completely, then restart phone.
8. Update Software ...a little update came before JB. (about 1.25mb)
9 Reboot phone.
10. Update Software... finally to JB.
Thanks guys!

does other numbers matters apart from 415 because it has to backups 3.16.415.4|1.29.415.x.and i have a stock ruu rom that i installed once has no's 2.17.415.2

one more thing can i keep custom recovery with my stock rom or i have to flash stock recovery in any case
No you can run the rom fine with a custom recovery.....the only thing you can't do is update the phone with official ota
Is it possible to downgrade hboot from 1.39?
I think my hox failed when i upgraded to 1.39. I have tried all diffrent kind of roms and RUU.
The symtoms: The desk freeze up and I have to use powerbutton to get the panel to work again. And it sometimes start flickering and I have to use powerbutton to get it straight. The wifi don't work when i wakeup the phone, I have to restart wifi to get in running.
No not possible unless your phone is S-Off but that's very unlikely.....
You cab however flash the standalone firmware again to make sure your bootloader/hboot is without errors
You can check this thread for that .

look for nandroid first, check the link at end of post for your cid and then look for your main version, please note your main version has to match exactly. find you main version from fastboot by the following command, "fastboot getvar version-main" without the quotes, then look at this post>>>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140

yes software number, I already saw your cid on the list but I don;t know your main version or I would have just sent you link for that. And the great @Mr Hofs recommends to check for nandroid first, and he is rarely wrong. actually he is never wrong

[Q] Stock Recovery needed for M8 CID T-MOB003

Hi,
I have been reading a lot of posts to find the stock recovery version for my HTC One M8. My CID is T-MOB003 and I have the stock ROM (Software nr. x.xx.114.x)still running but I can't find my stock recovery - must have misplaced it after the back-up - so I can do the update to Android 5.0. I have already looked here for it but no solution.
Is there anyone who can help me with a stock recovery for my device?
Greetings,
JHS

when you get prompted for the ota you download it but NOT install it. take the ota.zip from the internal memory and take out the firmware.zip, in that zip is the recovery.img.
flash that recovery.img and then perform the ota.....done :good:

Damn that was the help I needed!! Really great gonna try this when I get home!
After searching for months myself, I came to the conclusion that nobody has ever made a backup of their original recovery. (the T-MOB003 that is)
Since I had the same problem, and I know it sounds like bull**** but you need to get s-off to get firmware updates since you do not have the original recovery anymore.
The only way of fixing this that I know is theroot.ninja (SunShine S-Off Tool)
Yes it does costs some money, but you'll be happy with it for years.
It changes your CID to 111111 so you can flash whatever firmware you want and then you should be good to go!

No need at all for all of that. The method described above to get the stock recovery works flawlessly, if of course the system is 100% stock too !
And as additional info :
My experience on the one x was that all recoveries starting with the same base number are the same

As usual... when it comes to T-MOB003, people so secretive to write full version.
They prefer x.xx.114.x ... and until today there is no backup for x.xx.114.x on the backup thread

Must say I didn't do it intentionally but saw most people do it so followed it. But you mean an nandroid back-up specific? I can post the recovery image if anyone is interested.

Recovery is not a problem .. simply extract out from OTA zip before proceed with OTA installation.
Nandroid backup is a problem especially the lower version 1.57.114.2 for hboot 3.16.00000 and 2.23.114.3 for hboot 3.18.0000 - many users are stuck at these two versions because no one willing to share them.
