[Q]Packet Data off when Idle - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hi All,
1 week ago, I've installed Advance Task Killer and Android Assistant and later I found that my packet data off when my phone was on idle mode.
I've already tried to freeze both apps via TB, but the condition wasn't change even I uninstalled the apps.
I've searched this problem with google, and I found article related to "Fast Dormancy".
Already tried to enable / disable that feature, but it didn't work (via *#9900#).
I want my packet data always on, even it will make my battery drain faster.
Is there someone out there have the situation like I do?
Thank you.

Wow.. there are no use installing advanced task killer it will consume lot more battery man. And probably that app that causes you this problem. Try removing it

The overheating means something is using your battery...a lot! If your phone is trying to sync a lot in a no signal area it will do this. First put it into flight mode and see if that helps. If it does then it is definitely data related. Then set all syncs to manual and delete social apps you don't use like Google +. If it does not help then it is an errant app. Easy fix is to reset data and reinstall everything. Harder way is to get Betterbatterystats and see what's using your battery. Also Memory Booster Lite task killer will show you all the things using your memory that may be draining your battery. Hope this helps.
damn can u tell me what to do like should i order a new battery or something i hate this androids should have built in fans

No the issue is in the phone. Are you rooted? Can you back up your stuff? If so try a factory data reset. If that fixes the problem add back your apps a few at a time to see if the problem comes back and then figure out which app is causing it. Did you try putting the phone in airplane/flight mode to see if it solves the problem?

[Q/ GSM version] Battery Drain due to Media Server

Hi all!
Recently, I updated my Galaxy Nexus to 4.1.1.
I found that the battery drains. Battery level went down 1% per minute.
I did not meet this problem when I was using 4.0.4
How should I fix this problem?
Thanks a lot

Hmm.. same here. Battery Life was better on ICS, that I agree. But JB is really awesome! Anyway, about your problem, I suggest making sure you kill your apps more frequently (Going into MultiTasking and just sliding them all away). This seemed to help me.
I have been trying to figure this out for days. I've read countless threads with no luck. I've got no mhaic , videos or pictures on my phone and its still using a lot of battery. Willing to offer bounty for a proper fix

Just the worst advice ever. You don't need to manage your tasks. If you've got an app misbehaving that's causing drain, you need to uninstall it and use something that's coded properly.

Well that's true. Sorry if I said it wrong. But yes, some apps are coded horribly like Facebook and cause terrible battery drain. So, just uninstall it.

I don't own this device but my battery was draining so fast and I flashed ,, pimp my rom,, and battery lasts for about 2 days (earlier it was barely 1 day)
Press thanks if I helped you
I've shut my Bluetooth off And the drain seems to have stopped

Search the forums and download better battery stats - you can also purchase the paid version from the play store - Run that for a day or so and it will tell you what is eating your battery.
Also, some more information (screen captions, your 'average' use, ROM, Kernel, etc) could help this thread a bit as well.
If you have a rogue app that is causing drain, better battery stats will help you find it.
After I got a program which tests mp3 files and removed all which had errors the media scanning stopped going on forever and killing the battery. I don't know which program off hand but I bet there are several free pc apps to test mp3's online.

This does not kill apps. It merely removes them from the Recent Apps list. If you want to kill apps, you have to go to the Apps manager in settings and force stop. Or use apps that offer such functionality like Android System Info.
---
I also have this issue, but force stopping the medisscanner (or related apps) resolves it temporarily. I'll try the mp3 validation suggestion
Solving of Battery drain Issue
Please check on your device on app which using most of the battery. I used GSam Battery Monitor so that it will shown me the most usage of apps consuming the battery. Just tap on it, tap "manage" then tap on "Force stop".
This accually required on every charge, restart or playing / downloading a media files. Some people suggest clear data on media storage, however, it clear all your custom ringtone and others too. By doing Force stop, nothing will be affected....
Enjoy!!

Thank you for your quick response but I've forgot to mention that my wifi is already set to be always active during sleep. I've double checked after your response but "always" was checked like I thought.
I'm using easy task killer app right now, and I've used easy battery saver and uninstalled it. Can these apps cause this?

Since upgrading to 4.1.2 battery drain in deep sleep

Hi Guys,
I updated to 4.1.2 few days ago and since then I'm experiencing a battery drain in deep sleep mode usually 3-4% per hour.
I froze all the "safe" apps via Titanium backup, and also removed some bloatware (chat on, google+ etc..), also I disabled the Google location services and the WIFI during sleep it set to off...still no improvement, could you kindly advise what can I try next? as I'm desperate and if I won't find any solution I'll just downgrade back to 4.1.1...
Thanks!

Similar to you, I have tweaks 4.1.2 so much. Removed all the bloatware, disabled google now/locations, etc etc. Stopped media scanning too and checked to see all the wakelocks and try eliminating the top ones.
Basically, unless I'm missing something very obvious, there is absolutely NO WAY whatsoever to stop the battery drain. Software is the problem, and I would suggest reverting back to 4.1.1 unless Samsung or Google sort this mess out.
Hi
I have the same Problem with battery drain in deep sleep mode!
I contacted Samsung, they told me it's the old system! (4.1.1)
I should do a full reset.

My issue I figure out is the wifi that never turns off even if theres no app on and screen is off. (smart wifi not working)
My solution is this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS5hc2tzdmVuLmJldHRlcndpZmlvbm9mZiJd
I tried a lot of apps, and this is turning off the wifi properly and not used, them my phone keeps on Edge that dont waste juice.
is getting a lot better, but 4.1.2 seems to suck more bat than 4.1.1
Try to drain your battery till 2% and then fully charge it. For some reason it works everytime for me

Android OS and Media using KILLING the battery life

Ok so I bought this phone on Monday. The very first day it gave me a mammoth battery life. I mean a ridiculous OST of 5h 45m 9s and still 7% juice left (screenshots attached in 2nd post).
And then the very next day issues started. First the Android OS... I charged my phone 100% and slept. Woke up and saw it at around 61%.. Shocked and unhappy. Googled a bit and by Noon I stopped a lot of Samsung **** going on at the back. Android OS became normal but MEDIA started to show its baddd side..
And just try to see in the screenshots, it shows the WIFI was on all time/all the time. However I never turned it on. It was off all night.
Screenshots are attached below. Would love some help/guidance here.
And one more thing. All of a sudden the Lock Screen's funky wallpaper has changed into a blue screen wallpaper that has some weird shortcuts ! Why is it happening. Restating the device brings back the same funky paint color wallpaper but then within minutes its back to the same sh*t.
First day usage SCs
do you have any screenshot(s) of the blue screen wallpaper with the weird shortcuts? I'm not experiencing any issues like this.
Don't you think you've touched it unconsciously while you're asleep with parts of your body that toggled the wifi and other stuff?
Try a factory reset

Oh factory reset sucks lol. By the way, I was reading from somewhere (android central forum i think) that to kill Android OS frome ating up all battery, install some CLEAR RAM app to clear your RAM.. which I did. And yesternight I figured out that this clear ram app changed my lockscreen itself..without asking me. So i deleted. Also, I deleted everything on SD Card and removed it. Now I dont know whats keeping the Android OS and MEDIA up all the time. The apps I have installed so far are:
skype, whatsapp, viber, sacebook and temple run. They were installed from day 1 so if they are creating problems, why didnt they create any impact on Day 1? And these are pretty normal apps which I dont think should create any problem.
Plus, wifi always on issue is resolved to by unchecking some option in wifi menu.

first l sympatise with you. There is no problem on Unrooted phone that factory reset cannot Solve except it is factory fault issue, but this is not factory Cos it was ok on day 1.
Your instant messager like Skype and BBM are mainly the applications that hog battery.
Ensure you did not restrict background processes in Developers option.
Ensure your wifi 'and GPS are off when you don't need them.
Don't install any process killer.
Stop auto update
put your phone in battery saving mode.
check to see If there is downloading process going on at background
Also see if there is live streaming (MEDIA SERVER) going on sites you visited like Youtube.
check the running processes in application manager in setting and check if any is constantly RESTARTING. Look for a way to stop such .
Above all try to wait for the research l did on BATTERY POWER AND DATA MANAGEMENT which I will post soon.
Good Luck
Well, one thing that helps is retracing your steps back from the time the problem was first noticed.
