Hello fellow XDA users,
Do you think XDA developers needs a motto (slogan, quote, etc.)?

all other Models are getting this mod - maybe some god can take over this technology to our beloved DHD's ...

Its not a request, its a question.
Users that registered before the 10 Post rule can still post in Dev sections, the rule wasn't applied retrospectively.

And, it's not working on HD2. At least i'm not getting the setting on it....
Actually... i hardly doubt that 2 fileso on /system/etc/ and 2 lines on build.prob would be enough to enable it...

Even development requests are not allowed in the development forum as a request is still a question.
Please understand that the HD2 will be able to do things that the dhd just can't do.

Like what? i honestly belive the DHD can do thing like the HD2 can't (Like full 24bit color), but not the inverse.
Does the HD2 DO things that a DHD can't do? Certainly. But that doesn't mean much

Likw run many more OS versions then then the DHD as the main one.

Please understand that the HD2 will be able to do things that the dhd just can't do.

The HD2 is not ABLE or CAPABLE to do things that no other could.
As it's stands, it is possible to do somethings with it that are unique.
BUT, it's a NOT physical impossibility for the others, DHD or not.
Still... the HD2 will probably be forever history in history as the device that survived 3 major OS (WM6.5, ANDROID, WP7), and several minor (7.1 7.5, And 2.2, 2.3, probably 4.0)

it would be nice if it would work on the dhd

The mod consists of 2 files in /system/etc, and 2 lines on build.prop
Everyone can do that. Problem is, it's not enough.
There's something missing somewhere, Bravia Engine is only enabled on Xperias
Until i see the setting in the screen section, i won't belive it.

If you know this has nothing to do with the S3, but rather the HTC One V, post it in it's proper place.
Your review is very subjective. When talk about speed, you say it's slow, but slow compared to what? Use numbers, benchmarks would help, especially 3 month from now, when a new generation of phones come out.
your review also focuses on the superficial. I know you are a teenager, because you say it, but don't make your review sound like a 12 year old boy who only cares about how "cool" something looks. What about battery life? How loud the phone is? Reception? Storage size? All those would play in to how a phone can be "used".

But I do agree that this is in the wrong place and should be in at the very least an HTC One variant forum. I understand why you put it here (being that you are an SGS3 user-probably should have put that in your OP) and are just wanting peer review. Best place to get peer review on a product is probably that product's forum.
I'm not the Mod for this section but you can request the thread moved, otherwise you might get more of the same responses.

I asked for it to be moved. Should be sometime soon. You'll get far better peer review over there, than you will here.

I get it, it is very difficult for one with your intelligence to realize that when you review a htc one v device that should be posted on the htc one v forum and not on the samsung galaxy s3 forum...huh not sure, maybe these two names sound very similar to you probably

Wooooh harsh! op u should have this in the right place tho. Keep doing what u are doing and have fun. Focus more on what people want to hear like, multitasking, features it has, like the one guy said speaker, reception, etc

Yes, you can make this review a lot better by writing something about the phone. IMO even temple run does not run on the stock rom. Also, sense is much better than touchwiz.

I think touchwiz is just **** and samsung would do themselves a favour by using stock.

Not sure what to make of this mess. His review is about the One V. This is the One V forum, and the thread is posted in the One V general sub-forum, so unless this was already moved I don't see what the problem is. Also, this goes to everyone: If you see a violation or mis-post, just quietly report it and carry on. Confronting the other person only starts a flame war, and puts you in the hot seat, which could lead to consequences. TBH, I thought the way some of you treated the OP was absurd. He is only looking for feedback, not to be berated in front of other members.
Flaming another member for violating the rules, is a violation in and of itself. Please refrain from flamatory or disruptive behavior towards other members. Those found participating in this type of behavior will be dealt with.

well, I made playboy Rom.. but doesn't seemed to work out well, because I wasn't having permissions from Evanlocked brother..
As of my mistake, I felt guilty at my deeds, but all the apps were given to me by YASH989, and he didn't tell me who was deserving the credits, but mistake is all mine, I am sorry to all the mods, members, Yash989 and specially Evanlocked brother..
Plz forgive me guys, next time it won't happen..

Are you a dev?
No your not. Do you know it's hard to remove kanged items. If you were a senior member I would've thrashed you by now. You are just asking for trouble. Xda doesn't need trouble makers. They need good, friendly and nice people. Treat members with respect. If you want respect then gain it. You are not getting any respect by how ur behaving now. I would suggest delete your post and forget about this matter.
OK? Remember Xda is not for causing arguments it was made for development.

Don't mind... but please try to use pm to sort these issues in future.. these threads will only result in arguments.. why not just pm to people who you wanted to say sorry?
Creating a thread like this just shows that you are making a public scene.. of course your intention wasn't that.. and yes I could have pmed this too.. but since you made a thread.. thought I can just post here... your good intentions will be looked in wrong way if you don't approach it properly
Just try not to talk about these permission issues in open in threads.. use PM.. and there won't be any arguments or hard feeling or reports etc..

That was me trying to be speedy; if you look closely, the number that follows the "?p" is the same on both links. I tried to link a different post but forgot that you need the post ID to be modified, not the post count. Fixed in my post above. Oops!

The posts linked above talk about there isn't a need for android dev. vs original android dev., which I understand... but what is the status of Catalclysm? Is it not being worked on anymore?

Alas, Cataclysm has "died" before in the days of the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4. Atl4ntis disappeared for a year or more then and reappeared magically for the N5 and gained a large number of users. However, if he can't hack the stress, it was hardly fair to build up an even larger keen collection of users on FOUR different devices. I'm bitterly disappointed, but sadly not surprised. At least he gave his reasons on Pushbullet.

This is a sad day...... for me and the rest of Cataclysm users.

Thanks for that link. But after reading most of the discussion, I think I need a drink (it must be 5:00 somewhere). It turned into a toxic lovefest/hatefest pretty quickly.

Thanks. I think I see his point about fairness, but man, does he have to be so nasty about it? Seems like he didn't really need to insult anyone, except maybe the XDA mods that he felt were unfair to him. But perhaps he feels it's a race thing (who knows, perhaps it is).
Anyway, it's too bad they couldn't solve the problems without going ballistic. Hope it turns out to do something positive.

This is all just sad...

When I read that post of Alex Cruz and the words he is using, I think there is jealousy involved. Why moderators wanted to move a thread is not clear to me.

Yes, and there is a fact. His method 'cata-mod' is and was very original. So I am confused too, and do not understand the moderators concerned. Especially because a thread with discussions about the 'why' is also closed.
This is not a simple 'not following the rules question'. Apparently we are dispirited to talk further.

I'm very sorry for Atl4ntis and Cataclysm.
He's been a very kind guy, always keen to answer help and fix bugs,
His ROM has been the best I've ever seen so far: a lot a customization, great features, great stability. A great balance.
I hope he will eventually be back, but he will be always remembered as one of the best guys and modder here!
