USB issues and other fun. - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Today I flashed twa priv's 0319 release. Later I tried to transfer files to my computer. With the new adb prompt on the kindle I selected connect always. I just reinstalled drivers through kfu 9.8+. With just regular USB storage mounting/transfer, I want able to access SD content, but I had two adb composites in device manager. When I selected mtp I only saw about 5 different folders: .android, documents, images and a couple others. Is this a ROM problem or a computer problem?

That's normal for MTP

Another thing is RAM. I found only a few prices but a bunch of ram was being eaten up. Here are some pics

What about the other setting. Anyone else having trouble with their "USB connected. Touch to copy files to/from your computer." ?

Try this. I have used it for months now and never needed the USB cable.

what's a good Android to PC via wifi application?

Hey guys.
I'm looking for a faster way to transfer files from my PC to my GNex. MTP is way too slow (2.5 gigs is looking to take about 3 hours) and I don't have the patience.
Is there a good wifi transfer app to do this for me? I am not good with networking, so easy would be good. I bought "wifi file transfer" from the market and it works good for single files. I need something that will do my whole internal SD in a single shot.
Halp?
Airdroid or ftpserver

I am not sure that a WiFi transfer will be faster than using a wired transfer method. Try pulling the data using ADB

HELP my GNex stuck up on Google LOGO ADB doesnt work or computer wont recognize gnex

Yesterday at work while my phone is charging it just suddenly went to google screen and i waited for about 5-10 mins and still there, i thought its a minor problem...take out the battery and still stuck up, i went to recovery and accident wipe everything. My main problem is i have a Samsung Laptop and it wont recognize my phone, ( it will recognize for a second when i turn on my phone going to google logo and it will say device is malfunction etc etc. it will also recognize for a second going to recovery mode when pass the google logo and again it will say malfuction ) I tried ADB, but wont recognize my device because of the computer? I tried ODIN but still my device wont recognize by my computer. I tried Gnex tool kit, Rootkit and heres my device manager looks like
I hope someone can help me.
That looks like a problem with the drivers you have installed on your computer. It should show up under Android Phone and then have Android ADB Interface (or Samsung Android ADB Interface). Try installing the drivers from here.

Samsung kies on a Galaxy Nexus ??? Put the phone in adb mode and manually install the ADB interface drivers from the google SDK. You will need to uninstall and erase all previous drivers from the device manager and then install the .inf from the sdk

Nope, but thank you anyway, the problem is that my kindle fire has no os and it's just stuck at the stock boot up screen without any recovery...
You need a Fastboot cable/adapter/etc.
You can make one yourself by soldering 4th contact/the one with the missing spot to the 1st contact (red wire/power wire).
And then you can use whatever to recover.
AND make sure you use Kindle Fire FIRST GENERATION SOFTWARE. OTHERWISE YOU WILL BRICK AGAIN, AND THEN, COMES JTAG.

I got plugged the factory cable in and the screen diaplayed "fastboot kindle fire" as expected . However, when I used this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254 the newest one (KFHD_SRT_v1.3.5- 7.3.0 (seperate option for restoring factory recovery) )
the tool only displayed waiting for the devices , also I chose the first and third option, same thing happed help me guys.
I'm guessing your fastboot drivers aren't installed, look for a device with an yellow triangle in the device manager probably called tate , might say jem or otter2, and tell it to update drivers and point it to where you would have downloaded and extracted the drivers in my signature.

Oh thank you for replying. I got everything fixed. However, I want to flash CM11 on it. I have TWRP 2.6.3.1 and the ROM in the internal storage. I followed the instruction: install newest custom recovery, factory reset and flash the rom. TWRP fail at the flashing rom part. it said something about blaze tablet and otter2 I don't know. Can you help me.
You tried to flash a kf2 ROM on a kindle fire HD 7", they aren't compatible. You need to download the correct ROM in the 7" HD development section.

I could also be the fact that you are running android L. The os has quite a lot of comparability issues (although I'm not sure if its just a theme or not)
