Why would you want to obliterate your screen's beautiful quality and brightness with that cover?

Nah, but people who travel a lot by train or airplane know how it feels when you know the person next to you keeps stairing at your screen .. it's annoying and very weird when you are looking at privat things, but it can be problematic when you are working on important projects that are under general NDA ... business travelers have been using these protectors for ages on tehir laptops, and as phones take over more and more functions these have to be protected too!

Looking at private/confidential things in public places isn't exactly a smart idea. Still, one alternative would be to use a screen filter app to lower your brightness below minimum to a point where it's very hard to read unless you're looking straight ahead and close. You can use it only when needed, better than having that evil cover all the time.

Like I said, business people who travel a lot have no other choice ..
and with low screen brightness it's a pain to use for yourself .. with a privacy screen protector you can use it without any problems

@storker507: Can you give a link to your photo?
Cause i'm unable to find privacy filter for the one.....

[Q] PRIVACY screen protectors

used the search to no avail.
SOOOO, i was looking for a privacy screen protector for my captivate.
looked on amazon, ebay, some online vendors.
i ended buying one off of ebayer belldandychan and it did a good job of limiting the viewable angle of the screen BUT, a HUGE BUT, the damn thing was so thick that it rendered the capacitive touch USELESS. the touchscreen was 100% unresponsive with the protector applied.
after exchanging a few emails with the seller, i got my money refunded (spent around 5 USD total) and threw the protector in the trash.
so, if anyone has had any experience with a good privacy screen protector for captivates that doesn't nullify the touch interface of your phone..... let me know!!
also- cost doesn't really matter to me, although i expect to probably pay no more than 10 for a small sheet of plastic.
i'm a little bit shocked there wasn't already a thread about this in the captivate accessory forum. aren't privacy screen protectors pretty vital? i just think it would be reassuring to know i'm the only one who can see what's on my screen, whether it's private personal information, emails, sms. i don't even like it when people on the bus watch me play a game. it's just a little too intimate for me. then again, even riding the bus WITH STRANGERS, who are sometimes dangerous, smell bad, have lice, are sweating like shaq at the freethrow line, etc, is sometimes a little too intimate for me.

I can't vouch for the quality or the transmissibility of the light through the privacy screen - but Sammy sells their own 3 pack (clear, mirror, privacy) of screen protectors:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ET-I897SRPGATT
If you wind up purchasing, please post a review - I've been considering this for the privacy screen myself!
LOL I love how it costs $30 and in the only review for the product on the webpage the guys says Pros: Inexpensive.
Tsk. That's that fake employee review business…

Although currently backordered, Clarivue has a privacy screen protector.

I have their regular screen protector and love it, but I don't have any experience with the privacy version.
Go to any AT&T store and buy their screen protectors, they are the same as Samsung ones and cost $9.99
I see from samsung site that they have a separate screen protector called "scratch resistant"... well, since when did screen protectors giving being scratch protectants? Isn't it their basic job?
I need a privacy one not just regular finish.
And yes that is a bit redundant

My wife had a mirror screen protector on her captivate for a bit. It too was thick and her back button worked about 5% of the time. She has since taken it off and went back to a standard screen protector. I think you might run into the same issues with most "privacy" protectors.

Buy a phone noted for its bright, wide viewing angle screen, Then complain that other people can see.
Maybe you should have got a phone with a smaller dimmer lcd screen

[Q] Screen protectors

Hi all,
Is it suitable to use a screen protector (e.g. Brando) with the Wildfire?
I'm wondering whether it reduces the touch screen's sensitivity, reflection , ...
What are you using?
I've got a Brando screen protector for my HTC Touch Cruise (3 years now) and I'm pretty happy about it. The protector looks pretty scratched and greasy but when I peak under it, the phone seems perfectly clear.
So what are your opinions? Thanks
I have a Zagg Invisible Shield on mine ant it`s great. The sensibility is only slightly reduced, you don`t even feel it`s there. But that depends on the type of protector you`re going to use. Mine does not interfere with the viewing angles ot luminosity/contrast. If you want to see more pictures check my blog.
My wildfire is a pretty rugged phone, i dont think it really needs screen protector. On the other hand, my htc desire wouldn't last a month without the ZAGG invisible shield, or is it maybe the desire costed me double?
I think the Zagg is good in application mine had no bubbles the next day but using Swype is a really drag ! literally too rubbery I'm afraid
Any suggestion on a good protector that works well with Swype ? I'm in UK

Ok Alex will see how I go ,only had the Zagg protector on for a couple or three days
Mine took about 10 days in order to smooth out. As long as you installed it properly, you should be fine.
I've heard good things about this Brando one which has a matte finish so no greasy finger prints or reflections. I'm thinking of getting one if I can find it for sale in £GBP
http://hemorrdroids.net had a review of one on their Youtube channel.
Try phantom skinz, can't even tell its there, and I use swype! Little expensive, worth out through!

Can somebody please recommend me some good screen protectors from ebay (by posting the correct link)? I found many of them and I don't want to buy some bad ones...
i dnt think the screen protectors affect too much. mine came with my case all for $12, which is considered cheap in NZ. n it works pretty good
whatever you do don't get privacy screen protectors, the ones i tried were just a mirror finish, they look ridiculous, screwed up colours on screen, made it impossible to see anything outside, and made my sensors play up( my soft keys wouldn't light up). i'm like kevin just using cheap ones off ebay and they are fine.

I would recommend u try an app like 'screen filter' first. I have one of my friend's at work who has a mirrored-style privacy protector on his phone (Vibrant). No use though. When the screen turns on, I can see whats on it. Plus the screen itself adds to reflection, even at room light. I wonder how it would fare in sunlight.

What you think of Brando...

Screen protectors? I have just ordered the Anti Glare on from there site, after looking at some Youtube video's it looks very good at stopping glare.
Is there any of you using one of these's protector's and what do you think?
http://shop.brando.com/bw-pda-screen-protector-htc-desire-_p04338c1181d039.html
What do you think of...
... cliffhanger thread titles? I hate them. Be descriptive in thread-titles.
To the screenprotector: Anti-Glare does not work well on Desire. The image quality significantly drops a lot (rainbow interference effects). Especially on AMOLED but also happens on SLCD devices.

Thanks, I was going to buy from them but after watching video's of both the brando looked to do a better job at anti glare.
Brando has what plants crave: Electrolytes!
I've gone through 2 screen protector already. Worst part is I do take care of my device .
IMO, it won't matter since you'll eventually replace it anyway.

Good point someone just made, you can't see the LED for notifications.
Not a major thing for me but it maybe for some people.
It also makes using the camera a bit of a pain. Useful for proping up the phone though.

Hello everyone,
I'm using the flip cover on my S3 and is exactly what i wanted. The only problem is the led being covered, so, i used a tool that i have to make holes on belts to make one on the cover and now is perfect for me.
See the pic below. The cover is very hard, i had to make a lot of "force" to make the hole.

I doubt they will but I think it would increase sales as a lot of people have pointed out the issue. I can't see how they can solve the issue of using the camera though.
Can someone that owns this case answer me this;
Is this cover protective for the screen in a case of a fall? I mean does it "lock" in place over the screen? If you turn it upside down for example, the flip opens?
I believe its the most basic thing that should be answered (if it does not protect the screen its useless) and no one in any review does this simple test.

I got one of these a couple of weeks back for my device. I found it was rather annoying having to hold it at an awkward angle when on the phone. I wish they'd made it flip up or down instead of to the side. It also means you can't hold it very well with your left hand either, as it adds even more width on to the device!
I've switched to a skin thingy now instead, even though it leaves the screen open to damage. I'm still looking to get some kind of plastic cover I can use with the skin I've got though.
