Same :/ - Pretty annoying, however the screen does remakrablly stay clean! - Scratches seem to be avoidable if your not abusing it, but I still want that peace of mind - ie using dirty fingers xD
Doubt I'll use play.com again.

Got it from Carphone Warehouse and its a universal one, so ill have to cut it to size myself.
With this quality of screen though, I get the impression a screen protector might not be needed. It feels pretty scratch resistant unless your clumsy and don't keep it in a case of some sort.
I fail to see how general usage could lead to scratches.

thanx for the heads up mate
anyone tried decent screen protector for the Desire? "tried" not heard
Hi all,
Is it suitable to use a screen protector (e.g. Brando) with the Wildfire?
I'm wondering whether it reduces the touch screen's sensitivity, reflection , ...
What are you using?
I've got a Brando screen protector for my HTC Touch Cruise (3 years now) and I'm pretty happy about it. The protector looks pretty scratched and greasy but when I peak under it, the phone seems perfectly clear.
So what are your opinions? Thanks
I have a Zagg Invisible Shield on mine ant it`s great. The sensibility is only slightly reduced, you don`t even feel it`s there. But that depends on the type of protector you`re going to use. Mine does not interfere with the viewing angles ot luminosity/contrast. If you want to see more pictures check my blog.
My wildfire is a pretty rugged phone, i dont think it really needs screen protector. On the other hand, my htc desire wouldn't last a month without the ZAGG invisible shield, or is it maybe the desire costed me double?
I think the Zagg is good in application mine had no bubbles the next day but using Swype is a really drag ! literally too rubbery I'm afraid
Any suggestion on a good protector that works well with Swype ? I'm in UK

Ok Alex will see how I go ,only had the Zagg protector on for a couple or three days
Mine took about 10 days in order to smooth out. As long as you installed it properly, you should be fine.
I've heard good things about this Brando one which has a matte finish so no greasy finger prints or reflections. I'm thinking of getting one if I can find it for sale in £GBP
http://hemorrdroids.net had a review of one on their Youtube channel.
Try phantom skinz, can't even tell its there, and I use swype! Little expensive, worth out through!

Can somebody please recommend me some good screen protectors from ebay (by posting the correct link)? I found many of them and I don't want to buy some bad ones...
i dnt think the screen protectors affect too much. mine came with my case all for $12, which is considered cheap in NZ. n it works pretty good
whatever you do don't get privacy screen protectors, the ones i tried were just a mirror finish, they look ridiculous, screwed up colours on screen, made it impossible to see anything outside, and made my sensors play up( my soft keys wouldn't light up). i'm like kevin just using cheap ones off ebay and they are fine.
i cant tell whether ther is one on or not.
can someone please confirm.
im asking because i only found out my t-mobile pulse had a screen protector when it smashed one day.
My factory sealed Wildfire did not come with a screen protector.
Mine didn't have one on it
Mine had one one it which had all writing on it to tell me to take it off. I just went and purchased an invisibleshield after that.
just the factory warning one with remove before use on mine
My son has a Wildfire and it had no screenprotector in the box, only the thin plastic wich should be removed.
You really dont need one, it has a freakin gorilla glass

I don`t think it has Gorilla Glass.
According to gsmarena, it does.

According to GSMArena, the Wildfire has an Adreno 200 GPU, the same unit as on the Desire. So, I wouldn't go by what GSMArena says on the Wildfire, even though it is probably the mobile site of my choice.

According to me, it doesnt. When i bought it, i had to wait 3 days to get an invisibleshield protector, and i got a small almost unnoticeable scratch on there during that 3 day period, even tough i kept my wildfire in Golla pouch.

Now that`s interesting....
Funny thing, it was never a selling point for the Wildfire, like it was for other phones.
I put on a screen protector and after a week or two there is a big scratch on it that makes the touch feel much less smooth. I end up replacing it with a new one every three weeks or so.
Is this normal to do that?

Maybe you are using cheap, 3 for 2$ screen protectors. Those are pretty much crap.
Mine actually came with 2
One on the bottom (which attacts finger prints like ****)
And one above that one which was quite rigid when I had to take it off.
Hey Guys..
Just alittle warning. I dropped my Htc one x from my pocket as i was walking on the street and as you see the glass broke. I am somewhat disappointed, I expected that it could withstand the impact, but no.
Further, i was informed by 3 differnt repair shops that it is impossible to get it repaired because there are no parts made for the phone yet.
One of the guys told me that htc not prioritize this particularly high.
Well i had a nice week with it tho
Ah man that's a real shame I dropped my Desire countless times over the 2 years I had it and it ended up with a 4mm long hairline scratch on the screen. I guess it's the price you pay for the curved glass - less protection round the edges.
Yea i guess i was unlucky. But im back on my old desire now hehe
Might have been alight if you had a case on it.
John.
ouch that makes me take a sharp intake of breath feel your pain bud I'd be gutted

By the damage it looks like it hit the side, that case will protect against that, he said he wanted something stylish and light.
I have ordered a white version of the case below, it should give good all-round protection including the camera, and give fantastic grip from all those nobbles.

edit: but after reviewing my choices and seeing the reasonable price for this protector, I think I am going to grab one off of eBay
edit 2: I will wait for the full review, because I cannot find one on the internet other than a supplier on Amazon who also reviews porn. (kinda sketchy) I also found their YouTube channel, but they also have another product that they used the EXACT same videos for (Wundershield) (very sketchy)
I think wundersheild is the German name for the same product

I would have a hard time trusting this stuff. I know for a fact most stuff won't get through a normal screen protector, you just don't know what will get through this and whether or not it's time to buy a new batch and reappy. Plus, once you get a scratch on it, then what? Does it wash off and you can reapply?
I think I'll stick to a normal screen protector, which isn't noticeable and I at least know what I'm getting.
It is a big step away from traditional style screen protectors and can see why people would be wary. I'm looking to get hold of a scratch test video soon.

Sounds too good to be true...
My one x is scratch free after one month of use. The one x has a number of people reporting how easily scratched it is. I do not baby my phone and it's still mint. I'm convinced this helped
I'm known with the stuff for applying it on clothes, so maybe I give it a try

I bet you these products (and there are a few brands of them) are just like a car wax. I bet if you applied Nu Finish once a year car wax on a cloth and wiped onto the screen and then buffed the screen, it would be the same result - clear, and less prone to fingerprints and scratches
