Is there a mod or function to hide the android location notification that shows when gps is in use. I really like the newer GPS Status notification but it makes the default one redundant.

Date is shown when the status menu is pulled. To show date permanently I think you need to install application like date week bar or date in tray etc.
I think its silly that the phone itself doesn't have the option to put the date in the tray bar. But day week tray app. Works great just what i needed thank u for the suggestion,

date in tray is a great free app.
date in tray is a great free app.
Does anyone know of an app that shows the actual data usage amount in the notification bar. I know 3g watchdog has that icon that just shows green, orange or red. I was looking for something more like this.
I would love to have something like this too great idea!
Try.. My Data Manager...I believe there was a setting to have it shown in the notification bar...

+1 for my data manager. Can sometimes be inaccurate and needs a quick adjustment but its amazing nonetheless

My Data Manager is okay it shows as an ongoing in the notification tray but not in the bar, but that's pretty good I guess don't have to go into any menus to see usage which was my goal.
Try Dodol fro the play store
I have the nav bar on and the buttons at the bottom disabled but the lights still work. Do anyone know how to stop this because its really annoying and defeats the purpose of the nav bar.
Or does the Nav bar defeat the purpose of the buttons?
But, if you wanna change it, it depends on the ROM. There should be a setting in display on most ROMs. Check there maybe?

Try Optimus G Tweaker on the playstore.. I'm on a 4.3 rom and there's no option in the settings to turn them off. I'm using a Nav bar and with that Tweaker app, I can turn them off.

Thanks your method worked pretty good. For the settings, there is no option for that.

Just popped up today
That icon next to the 4G icon is the NFC connection icon. At least I think that is what your Google search in the picture is suggesting. If you turn off your NFC connection tthen that icon will go away. There are mods out there that can remove the icon when you have Nfc on. Google is your friend if you would like to remove the icon from your status bar.
I can't seem to find GPS shortcut for the pull-down menu after I did the KitKat update. Did they remove it or am I just blind and cannot find it?
Its called location. If you don't see that then scroll all the way to the right and click on edit and look for location. If its already checked then try toggling it off and back on

I just figured that out. I really liked having 1 click GPS on and off. Now its 3 clicks. Oh well I guess I'll get used to it.
How is it 3 clicks? Once its on your notification panel you just toggle on/off with one click

Doing that also turns off the cell and Wi-Fi location services. I was just looking for the quick GPS sensor toggle.
Yeah it depends if you want to keep it on a certain mode. Thus far using the battery saving mode has still given me accurate GPS location. I haven't tried using navigation with it though so not sure if that would work just as well or not.
