GPS shortcut? - Sprint LG G2

I can't seem to find GPS shortcut for the pull-down menu after I did the KitKat update. Did they remove it or am I just blind and cannot find it?

Its called location. If you don't see that then scroll all the way to the right and click on edit and look for location. If its already checked then try toggling it off and back on

I just figured that out. I really liked having 1 click GPS on and off. Now its 3 clicks. Oh well I guess I'll get used to it.

How is it 3 clicks? Once its on your notification panel you just toggle on/off with one click

Doing that also turns off the cell and Wi-Fi location services. I was just looking for the quick GPS sensor toggle.

Yeah it depends if you want to keep it on a certain mode. Thus far using the battery saving mode has still given me accurate GPS location. I haven't tried using navigation with it though so not sure if that would work just as well or not.

Is there a permanent or automated fix for the 50%+ TWS bug?

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I can't find a straight answer with a search, only mentions of there being a fix.
Thanks in advance.

I'm on Bonsai 3.01 and it seems to be random whether it clears or not. I did notice if I hear the 3G beep after I boot then TWS stays near 0% and if I don't hear it after boot I get 50% so when I don't hear it I do the airplane mode toggle.
You have to cycle airplane mode after each boot. I use tasker to do it automaticaly but its a paid app, well worth it for all you can do with it tho.

You can freeze it with titanium

Is there another app that can auto toggle airplane mode? I don't want to buy a $6.45 app when I only want that one specific function.

Not sure but tasker can do a lot more. For example when I get in my car it shuts down my Wifi turns on my gps and prompts me to select which music app I want to listen to.

I'm reading the description and don't see whether it's automated or not. Can you set it to flip at boot? There are tons of manual toggle widgets and that's not what I want.
If your running a custom rom couldn't you create a shell script to run from init.d ?

Stock internet browser app dimming?

This past week the stock Samsung internet browser app dims when opened. Then when I close it the phone goes back to the brightness level it was at before opening up the browser. only happens when using the Samsung stock browser. Anyone else having this problem?
Stock AT&T GSIII
Edit: Also wanted to add that this is not happening on my wife's GSIII.

Check display settings. There is an option to change the screen tone to reduce battery usage. Try unchecking that.

Thanks for the reply but just unchecked it and it's still doing the same thing. Even tried toggling on and off auto brightness and it still does the same thing. It's very strange.
Try turning off powesaver.

I'm chalking this up to a bug. I have a friend with an S3 with this exact problem. No amount of settings changing would fix it. I'm pondering doing a factory reset on his and seeing if that fixes the problem.
I was having the same issue. Turning off power save mode fixed it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Its not a bug. I was able to make this happen or not happen by changing a few settings, but I don't remember which ones because I'm on AOKP.
But it definitely is a battery saving feature, so turn off all battery saving stuff and then try it.

The Samsung gs3 browser has its own display brightness settings that are independent of your screen brightness settings. While in the browser press menu and you should see a screen brightness option. You can select between 3 levels of brightness or set your own slider.
Thanks everyone...I found the culprit.
For anyone else having this problem, it is under the phone settings, power saving, I unchecked "Background color" which says "Change background color to save power in internet"

How to keep GPS on when screen is/goes off?

How can I do that? I was travelling in an unknown location yesterday and was using GMaps, but when the screen was going off GPS was losing its connection and it was re-established after some seconds, it was annoying and time consuming. Not only GMaps, other GPS related applications also react the same way! Could anything be done? Anyone?
Thanks in advance.

If you are using Google Maps without the "Navigation" like i do because of the country restrictions then you are right; GPS goes off with the screen. But if you have 3rd party navigation apps, like Sygic or Route 66, then they either do not allow the screen to sleep or do not let GPS turn off even if the app is minimised in the background.
But if you still want to use your Maps there was this app which you can select the apps and when those apps are on on the foreground it prevents the screen from turning off. But i can not remember the name. If i can find it i will post here.
'KeepScreen' available at Play Store. Just search for it.

Yes, I've seen My Tracks keeps steady gps signal when screen is on, but it loses it's stability when screen is off, it's really annoying!
@Others: Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them both and give feedback.
PS: Backitude is meant for Google Latitude! I don't use Latitude, so it'll do no good for me.

why does the phone wake up so much?

I've noticed that the phone wakes up a lot during the day and it's starting to affect better life. is there a way to check what wakes up the phone?

and I've already disabled connection optimizer and I don't have any motion settings that would listen with the screen off

Are you running stock? Rom? Do you have any app notifications set to "wake" the phone. Also, try ES Task Manager and see what is running when the phone wakes up.

I am stock deodexed lk8 rooted. all notifications should wake the phone (waking is when the software starts processing, not necessarily when the screen turns on)

It shouldn't...unless you allow lots of stuff to run in the background. What is issuing partial wakelocks on your device? Things like Sprint Connections Optimizer, and network-based location will bleed you dry in useless partial wakelocks.
Even leaving data sync-age on, wifi on, GPS on shouldn't unless you're phone is constantly getting email/text notification pings.

Gmail 'delete from curtain' broken?

It was working before the md4 update. I could delete from the pull down curtain. Now all I get is the notification without the delete /reply options. I have tried all different settings without success. I even uninstalled gmail, deleted data and cashe, reinstalled. No dice. I really liked to be able to delete without going to the app....

if there are any other notifications in the pulldown (including one's that can't be swiped away) the option doesn't show up... I stopped using ds battery saver for this reason

Hmmmm. The only other thing there is the green lookout icon. I'll try removing that and see if it changes.

I went to lookout settings and turned off the icon. Now all works again.... I Never would have thought it was from lookout. I even sent them an email to alert them of that. They sent a reply in 5mins. Said it shouldn't do that....
Thanks again for helping!

It's not lookout, it's gmail, if there is already any kind of notification on there it doesn't give the expanded delete reply option...:thumbup::thumbup:

Again, it's not a lookout problem, is a gmail problem.. nothing lookout can do to fix this, it would have to be coded into the gmail app to allow it to display these options when there is other notifications

I think the gmail notification has two modes: minimized and full (with buttons).
The notification only shows the buttons when it's the "top" notification. Apps like lookout have persistent notifications, so the gmail notification is never top dog and therefore doesn't go into "full" mode.
I know in 4.2.2, the method I described allows you to expand minimized notifications. I do a medium-length press and hold, then drag the notification down to expand it. I'll try to capture a video of what I mean (never captured video on my phone before).
