is it safe to flash the rom from other region?can it update by OTA? where can I find HK rom? Thanks.

It is an Original LG KDZ file from there site, so thats not the problem, you get the OTA updates.
But there are different models LG Optimus G phones, F180, E973, E975, .... and then you have also different Roms.
It depents on signal band Countries have and also that ROM for the Country have.
I'm from Europe (Netherlands) and after I installed the A10 E975 HK ROM on mine F180L (Korean) device I have
connection problems. Sometimes I lost mine connection for a few seconds and I haven't H, only 3G and WiFi. LTE we haven't at the
moment in The Netherlands, so I can't test it.

Qslide apps looks good but it's not worth to use network connection to trade would u flash back the original rom for F180L?

I think about it, because the connection become more and more a problem.
Maybe I will wait for the Duth ROM for the E975, Saw on internet we get also the E975 in The Netherlands,
but I dont know how long I then have to wait, saw a E975 A10 VODNL (Netherlands) Rom.

May I ask where you saw that ROM? my e975 is coming this week... can't wait

bump for any info, has anybody chopped these out of the HK rom and created a standalone .apk?
no update for F180L as of today...

is that all F-180L korea version phone dont have Qslide apps after update to JB ?

Maybe the QSlide apps will be included in the "Value Pack" update that *hopefully* makes its way to the Optimus G

[Q] Urdu Language Support.

Dear All
I am using OPTIMUS G F180 which is bought from Korea, and from there VDT ROM is installed which is in English.
There are 2 problems in it.
1- There is no URDU Language support , there are many languages which it can support , but can any body tell me how to let it possible to support URDU Language
2- Helpline 111, it cannot dial it , I don't know why

There is an Indian stock ROM that you can try. I don't know if you can install another interface language on top existing system.

Well you can try the official KDZ rom of international E975 that is for the UAE. It has the support for Arabic and Persian . That will solve your issue for 99% Urdu text.
Also read the instruction well on converting from F180 to E975 and especially backed up the modem and EFS files.

but in my ROM (VDT V9) supports Arabic and Persian but no Urdu. Now it can show many words correctly but some words shows as broken. For example it shows (nahee) as broken but many others correctly . I donot want write only primarily need to read. @atifsh I can read your line in Urdu except (yeh) again (yeh) and last (yeh) in the line. First yeh 2nd saktay third Thai
Any other suggestion.

no idea what you wrote there, you are using custom rom, flash stock and check or CM ROM and check

If you mean the same problem that we have in Persian, I can give you a patch to solve it. the problem in Persian is that the ی letter does not attatch to other letters where it should like in the word زیبا which is shown as زی با

I am using the F180L, KitKat is not released by LG U+ yet through software update in the phone yet so not know if F180K can get the update without the korean sim or not. however you can update F180K to KitKat also by the same way flashing the KDZ of update as I did.

You can try efs backup then flash kdz and restore efs. But first we need root access on KK.

I finally managed to unpack the .kdz file of the F240S20c FW
I managed to extract it with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483250 (modified the KDZFileTools.py line 24 to this: kdz_header = "\x28\x05\x00\x00\x24\x38\x22\x25" )
I'm currently uploading the different partitions like boot, system (still split up), recovery and so on.
I'll update this post when I finished the upload ( still about 4h to go )

Don't install F240L on a F240K phone. Use the F240S instead. F240S and F240K are compatible. F240L is not.
You just have to select the right mobile network settings and you're good to go.

Backup and Restore your default,current basebands
The backup script take a backup of the current baseband and put it in /sdcard/amss.bak
The restore script flashes the file /sdcard/amss.bak on your baseband, so it restores the backup

if you want to backup of your current,default baseband, Just flash it backup script.zip file through cwm

Anyway I'm using i8150xxlmg. It is suggested to upgrade? What benefit should I have?
If I have to take my phone to repair (my phone has life warranty but I don't explain you why) do I need to restore the "g" version?

Samsung made a lot of versions for countries because every network and country has its baseband .. So choose your baseband which is for your country. .
We all knew that all of custom ROMs don't change the baseband of your stock ROM ..

Hi guys, the basebands are working on every country, for obvious reasons I don't know if the baseband for Italy is working good in new Zealand, but it is surely working. Benefits depends on several factors, first of all the baseband you are using before, for example I found that xxkpo and bukp7 basebands are quite the same, while from xxkpf to xxkpo I found the bigger advantage in battery drain. BTW I'm glad my work can be useful even for you

I halfway agree. Before I'm using value pack firmware for slovakia (I8150XXLM8) though I'm not in that country and it was working just fine

You can't root currently without unlocking the bootloader.. Also, you need the Eastern Europian version.

You need to get the Eastern Europian version of the phone, this is the only model currently that can be rooted. I'm not sure what you mean by debranding?

Amazon or ebay is probably your easiest method.

You need to purchase the EU version of the phone in order to unlock thee bootloader.. As for unlocking it from the carrier you can find someone online who can do it for a fee.
