[Q] E973 Bell Variant Bootloader error? - LG Optimus G (International)

Hi
So I tried to unlock the bootloader on my E973 Bell Optimus G by using the freegee package (folder) that someone put up. However, when I do follow every instruction and unlock the bootloader, and I try to go into fastboot (bootloader) mode by pressing volume up + power button, the screen goes blank (black). From there, if I try to reboot my phone, it does not reboot, and I have to unbrick it by flashing the stock KDZ file.
Any help? I even tried factory resetting and trying to exact same process again. Still no luck.
Thanks in advance.

HELP !! Phone doesn't boot past recovery !

Hello guys !
I have done something terrible and phone is not booting up part recovery now.
I had rooted the phone with one-click universal method without any hasstles and then try to reboot into bootloader by pressing VolDown+Power button.
Eventually ended up rebooting in original android recovery. I tried rebooting with option in that but it was not responding.
While trying it out, I mistakenly wiped cache partition.
Now NO MATTER WHAT COMBINATION I TRY, phone doesn't boot up past the recovery.
Please help me sort out this mess. I need to sell the phone.

If you don't mind maybe loosing data, LGNPST back to stock, and try again.

I posted this in the other thread you asked about this in, but here it is:
I wipe my cache partition all the time. I am rooted but still locked (I don't think that will last much longer). Anyways, in the android recovery with jelly bean, I found that you no longer use the power button for selecting or confirming. It's now done using the menu button below your screen (on the right) . At least that's how it works for my phone.
I hope this works for you.

Mate.. after getting the phone booted up I installed FreeGee app from Play store to get bootloader unlocked and flash recovery , but downloading recovery stopped due to an error. So I rebooted the phone and since then Wifi is not detecting my home wifi network.
I then tried to do erase cache partition and even factory reset but nothing helped.
Do u know what else I can do to get it right ?
Cheers !
I haven't fully unlocked my phone yet. Only rooted it. However it sounds like you might have to LGNPST to set things right. Maybe someone else that is more knowledgeable with this issue could chime in and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that might be your only option.
Sorry I'm not of much help for you on this one.

Thanks mate.. will try this
OK.. mate I tried the LGNPST method. Downloaded LGNPST and stock v9 bin file. Used it to flash the stock rom back to stock.
howvere even after full completion of the process without any errors , the phone stucks at LG logo forever. I have tried the process twice.
Is there something I might have missed. I followed the instruction to the line from the pastebin link. Do we have a different Dll for the stock rom then whats there in the LGNPST repository named LS970_LGNPST.dll or something ?
Hopefully this will get you going.
If you downgraded from ZVB to ZV9 heres some needed info:
If you're stuck at the 4glte screen: To get to stock recovery - Power off phone. You need to hold power button for about 20 sec to get it to turn off. Then press and hold vol down+power - The LG logo will come on, then the capacitive lights. Immediatly let go when the capacitive lights turn on.
It takes a few seconds to work. Data wipe/Factory reset. Reboot.
And if you happen to reboot into recovery after this upgrade? Use the "menu" button on the led lights (far right when holding it) to get it to accept your commands. power button won't work.
---------- Post added at 09:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:08 AM ----------
If that doesn't work try this.
Get into DL mode and run "teeny bin" from the post I sent you to, to get LGNPST. Try the main one first, then the optional one if it still doesn't get you into TWRP. You just might have one of those "haunted phones" that seem to be poping up.

Thanks again mate.. I was able to install Teeny bin and then flashed a AOSP rom. Now I have my wifi working again without any issues.
Do u have a link of any stock based rooted deodexed rom for this ? I don't want to flash bin images via LGNPST but want the stock look and feel
Imperium and Lifeless are our only 2 stock ROMs so far. In the Development section. Both are very nice.

[Q] Risks of using FreeGee?

Hi, ive jumped from the HTC Desire S, to the Sony Xperia S and now to the LG Optimus G E975.
From what i read in many sources, can i say that the only possible way to unlock LGOG E975 is using FreeGee?
When i installed the app, it warned me that it may risk hard-bricking my phone. So now im curious, what are the chances that the unlock may fail and cause a hard-brick? Please advice me veteran...
Its all in your hand..... If yu want to unlock juz go ahead...... Initially i also had same fear but now used to tat..... All i can say is ITS SAFE.....!!

The risk is if it gets flashed badly, there are MD5 checks, so the only thing would be if your phone were to die mid procedure. And if you do this with 1% battery left I´d say you deserve it
^^
I have the same isue...^^
I wann unlock my bootloader, but i'm really scarry...i have my phone only a week... and if I gonna brick it...
I think, i gonna drink some beer and try this...lol
It;s safe, relax. Just don't forget to root first. Freegee will not work without root.

Well, how long would the unlocking take? So i can say that the only way the procedure could fail is that the phone runs out of juice?

However, does the risk of it failing vary between different software versions? E.g e97510g and e97510f etc?
I used freegee more than 10 times and my phone is still alive. I'ts safe dude but make sure your phone will not die due to not enough battery so make sure that you charged you phone.

Before using freegee, i tried flashing CWM using ROM Manager, did it fail because the bootloader was locked? Although it said that it was flashed successfully. If i unlock the bootloader and flash CWM with freegee, will there be any problems?

You must unlock the bootloader first. There will be option in freegee to install CWM so you don't have to install it through ROM Manager. Just choose CWM 6.0.3.0 touch your good to go. Just follow the guide in the OP.
To enter bootloader, hold volume UP and power.
Upon entering the bootloader, you will notice that there is no 'menu' to enter fastboot or recovery. Unfortunately, since the stars didn't align properly, we were unable to tell the new bootloader where to load the images that contain the menu from.
In light of that, you'll have to navigate the menu blind. Use the volume keys to change selection, and the power key to select.
The choices are (in order of pressing volume down):
Start - boot the phone normally [already selected]
Restart Bootloader - reboot into the bootloader
Recovery Mode - enter recovery (CWM)
Power Off - powers the phone off
So, to get to Recovery, you would press volume down twice then power.

Nono, i mean i already tried using ROM manager to install CWM before unlocking my bootloader but failed, so now im concerned whether the CWM installed by the freegee will conflict with ROM manager's
You can try if you can boot into CWM. BTW you can revert back to stock by flashing through KDZ if you messed up. Just put your phone into download mode.

Guys,is it so complicated?i mean, why do you like to complicate simple things? It's easy as hell...
1. Install the drivers
2. Root the phone following the tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38886073&postcount=1 It takes less than a minute.
3. Download FreeGee app from praystore and unlock the bootloader.Ignore warnings, as they are normal. You get a warning even when you install a keyboard, regargin private data. I think it's normal to get warnings when it comes to unlock bootloader, right?
This is the easiest way. If you are only rooted and not unlocked, there is no way you can install cwm. It will give you security errors and will not work.

kimitza is right. At first I bricked my phone 10 times by figuring out how to install CWM or TWRP, because I tend to complicate the steps to do it. Then I followed the simpler ones, then now my LGOG is rooted, unlocked, with CWM and Avatar ROM 3.1!

Rooting problem...bricked?

Hi,
Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I literally just got a G3 D855 and tried to root it using One Click Root. I followed all of the steps and after having to manually boot into download mode, it said that it had completed the process and had rooted successfully and the phone restarted.
I now cannot get past the LG logo. I have tried factory resetting as I can access that menu, and I can only access download mode if I plug the phone into my computer whilst holding volume up.
I don't really know how this happened. If anyone has any advice, please send it my way.
I have tried battery pulls etc.
Thank you.

Boot Verification Failed

Hey all, I really have no knowledge when it comes to phones, so any help would be appreciated.
I have been trying to root my LG G3 for a few days now, but it just wont happen. I have tried PurpleDrake and ioroot and end up with the same error every time whilst the phone is restarting. As the screen is black and attempts to boot, in the top right of the screen, the message "Verification boot failed! cause- MISMATCH_SIG_LEN" and then the phone will just go to a black screen while the LED alternates blue and red. This also happens when I try to enter stock recovery. I know I have the latest ADB drivers installed and the right drivers for my phone, so that can't be it. My G3 is a D852 with SV 30b on Marshmallow, my carrier is Bell. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for your help Anik! I can be really dumb sometimes and the fact that I can't think straight at the moment doesn't help. Seems like the main problem would be is that I was downloading Autorec of the play store, which is for lollipop. Should have seen that coming with the logo... Again, thanks!

LG G3 S D722 is hard bricked and I really need help.

My G3 is stuck on the booting screen and nothing works. I can't go to recovery menu. But I can hear my notifications, no calls though.
I tried to root my G3 using kingroot then replacing it with SuperSU. I restarted the phone after just to see if it's ok then this happened. It wouldn't start up. It just shows the "LG: life's good" thing and doesn't do anything else. I can't even go to recovery or download menu.
Now soon I am going to send it for repair. There is important stuff in my phone though such as pictures, text messages, my gmail and other accounts.
Will they be able to see it if they manage to repair my phone? a relative told me that I erased my android operating system..
Hopefully someone will help me here.
I'm no expert regarding phones with LG ROMs, but you might have had a locked bootloader. If i remember correctly, my old G2 needed its bootloader unlocked before doing any fancy stuff. I now have a G3 and i'm terrified to do anything to it. (After some nasty Soft & Hard bricks on my G2)
Can you explain better what you mean by "replacing Kingroot with SuperSU". Did you have both installed at the same time or what? Some people had problems with Kingroot that it would lose root after you reboot it (G3)
You say you can hear notifications, how can you hear them if you're not booting the OS? You said it's stuck at LG logo.

Ok I managed to get to the factory reset screen by holding the power and volume down button. I confirmed it, it said "Factory reset processing" then "erasing.." with the android logo for like 2 seconds, then it disappears and goes back to the boot loop.

I'm in download mode with the USB connected to my PC. it says "Firmware update" and has been sitting at 0% for very long.
Of course. See the guide from hyelton about getting back to stock on lg g2 and g3. Get your kdz gor d722 and flash it via lg flash tool 2014 (or use lg mobile support tool and let it do it automatically)
