Hi community, I'm posting misbehaving apps here that are causing wake issues .
After weeks of frustration I finally figured out what was causing my wake problem
1-better keyboard

I had a problem with Llama.
I haven't had any wakelock issues on my GN; I keep an eagle eye on wakelocks; kernel and partial. Amazing how something as innocuous as a keyboard can drain your battery so quickly.
I've found that the GN does a much better job of keeping everything in check, haven't had Exchange Services go rogue on me yet.
Go buy SwiftkeyX, 49 cents right now!

That's ironic, I suffered a lot with them. I never had these issues on my nexus s or vibrant, what rom and kernel is your favorite?

I'm starting to like my Android keyboard especially with GSXR'S theme.

Pure Grid Calendar widget was destroying my battery life. Tons of wakelocks and whatnot. Sad to see it go :/
I don't know how I do it...
I really really don't.
But I have 196 user applications.
That's usually a dead give-away that the user is a noob and or has to deal with a huge amount of wakes.
My phone...no matter how long I leave the screen off...
Stays in 300mhz for 2-5 seconds and deep sleeps literally the entire rest of the time.
I've had the rogue apps for sure.
But I pinpoint and uninstall them...as they've never been anything crucial.

Still? That guy is insanely good at updating his apps. Best Dev period, I'd say. I almost want to buy the app again just to support all of his work.
From what I experienced about 2 weeks ago it was still acting up.

The old Avast! for me but they've fixed it already.
And from what I read, Juice Defender too.
My battery's been great so far. Is there a way that's best to tell what's causing this problem? Other then just the regular battery indicator? CPU spy or something? Thanks!
You can use battery monitor widget or bad ass battery monitor, better battery stats are the best. I use battery monitor widget most of the time

no need for another app.
open your adb path and type:
Code:
adb shell
dumpsys power
At the bottom are listed any wakelocks.

I only said that because you did a factory reset ..etc to try to solve the problem.. I've never heard of that issue on any ICS ROM really... what exact build are you running

A tough call .might be hardware ..maybe have sprint check it out
-TeaM VeNuM Like A Boss
I'm a tech at sprint and ive seen it frequently. Replacing the part remedies the issue. It's just a headphone jack with a ribbon cable that snaps on to the board. A real easy fix, Pm me and I can send one your way for a small fee

should i change my galaxy s2 for an iphone 4 white?
i dont care about the specs, i just realy use it for texting and music
all i want is a fluid phone and awesome battery life
do you think is good to change my epic 4g touch for an iphone 4?
i dont really know what to do
I wouldn't do it because I don't like being chained to itunes. I also like customization and being different from the crowd. There is nothing wrong with iphone though, its good for lots of people.

IMO.. NOOOOOO.. Lol.. I typically do the same things with my phone.. I have never missed my Iphone. You can get awesome battery life on these for sure.. Just depends on rom/kernel combo.

Coming from iPhone to E4GT and 4 of immediate family member's have 4G's & i5 (I'm their IT dept lol...) there is nothing like the ability to replace batteries, true reboot's when needed, SD storage and most importantly the freedom to use your phone without a company keeping you on a leash.
Stay with droid. You can enjoy all the option's you want on your phone the way you intend to use it for texting and music.
I would not trade unless you plan to leave the e4gt stock and not change roms etc, then I'd CONSIDER it. This phone is much better, but if you want to leave it stock, might be worth a trade.

Change to an iPhone if all you use your phone for is texting and music.
I would never change to an iPhone, but that's just me, not you.
I honestly don't see why I should persuade you to stay with Android if the iPhone is a simple device that would be best suited for a user like you.

I wouldn't do it. Like someone else said, being chained down to iTunes blows! Being chained down in apples little world itself blows hard core. That's why I've NEVER owned and apple product in my life.

My friends that owned an iPhone 4S when I first bought my S2 were all jealous of the screen size and just how clear the pictures were on my S2.
I had them offering to trade me and I flat out declined their offer because I just love how much can be customized on this phone. The S2 is far superior compared to the 4S.

If you want an iphone, get one. Everybody here will tell you to keep your E4GT. So just go get your iphone.

I'm running paranoidandroid with the kt747 kernel and I keep seeing how people are getting 20+ hours of battery life. Don't mean to be the n00b on the block but how can I extend my battery life?

Hi
Try using DS Battery saver pro
On Playstore
And cpu spy plus
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
Well first off what are your settings? I get great battery life but that's because I turn mobile data off most of the time, bluetooth off, brightness all the way down etc etc. If you're talking OC / UV then I haven't a clue sorry
If battery life is important though I recommend an extended battery. I have the hyperion one off amazon and it doubles the capacity for not too much bulk.

DS battrey saver set on slumberer
When screen off
Data or wifi off
And cpu force deep sleep

Figure out what's using up your battery, and get it to stop doing so.
The basic battery statistics in Settings -> Battery are a good starting point. Past that, perhaps give BetterBatteryStats a spin.

Hi, I have flashed every AOSP rom on the original development forum and I have never been able to get a data connection that lasts for more than the first few minutes. Does anyone else have this issue?

Data has always been fine for me . I've used paranoid android, cyanogenmod, avatar rom and aokp with no data issues... You're not the first person who has had issue though... I'm just not sure why
Sent from my SPH-l900 using xda app-developers app
Same here.. That's pretty weird.. My data has been fine too.. Especially the lte 3g switch off .. I'm running aokp

Yeah, I'm wondering if possibly some app may be causing the problem (???)
I'm going to test that theory by running a completely "naked" rom (no apps at all) for a couple of days and see how the 3G/4G data performs...
You say AOKP is good? That's the one I'm gonna try.

That's what im currently running.. Pac of ice to be exact... App wise.. Unless you have an app that disables data, not sure how that would play in. Running "naked" would be a good option though

That's the only thing I can think of; I'm getting phenomenal 3G/4G signal on Touchwiz (latest Synergy). If this doesn't work I may be doomed to a life of Touchwiz....
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
Well, I ran PAC of Ice for 2 days, I had a data connection about 40 to 50 percent of the time (did some errands, was basically out and about for the 2 days) and I can't figure it out, I guess that I'm stuck on TW for the foreseeable future.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
I've got the same deal. On Pac and data is fickle at best. Seems to lock and unlock at will. I've tried every modem too... :banghead: TW bums me out
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, but I've gotten spoiled by the great 3G/4G connection I had on Synergy...
Oh well, that's what I'm heading back to...

Am I missing a really basic piece of information? I bought a wifi hotspot (Freedom Pop, cheap) for data so I could run an AOSP rom on my device; I downloaded and flashed Carbon 1.7, got it all set up last night. Today, when I left home for work, I turned off wifi on my phone (if I'm not near a wifi hotspot I can use, I turn it off, saves battery, right?). I immediately lost the data connection on my mobile network. When I got to work, I checked again, no data. I turned on my wifi, preparing to use my hotspot, when I noticed that a couple of seconds later, I had data on my mobile network (no wifi, all the signals around me are locked). I turned off my wifi, lost mobile data. Turned it back on, regained mobile data. Is that the way it's supposed to work?
