Can anyone please provide me the step by step tutorial to install Super Jelly Bean 2.0 created by Harsh586. I am a newbie here and my friend do the root, rom processes for me. He was kinda busy these days so i thought may be i could learn how to install a particular rom. I have been here from past few days seeing the use of Kernels and ROMs but still didn't find any step by step tutorial to install this ROM. If anyone could help here?

It would be great if someone provide the step by step guide for installing this ROM and that's all what i am asking, sire.

That would suggest you've read things like the stickys, and given that there is more than one page in each section that you may just have come across some of the various guides that are floating about that describe how to flash ROMs via CWM (which are in the stickys to begin with), so when you then say...

So what on Earth have you been doing here for the last few days.
All i recommend is just reading up on it all first.
Otherwise if things go wrong you will have to ask more questions...and have no phone till you fix it.
Only start messing about with you phone when you at least know a bit about what youre doing.
Or you will just keep on getting sarcastic and pretty rude answers.
XperienceD...you clearly arent going to stop this problem with people posting without searching, so PLEASE give the f*** up with your pointless answers
Install adb drivers, java sdk platform and flashtool 0.6.8.0
1. Unlock boot loader with adb
2. Download fusion 5 and fusion add-ons, Rom and gapps
3. Copy fusion add-ons and Rom / gapps to sd card
4. Use flashtool -fastboot to install kernal
5. Reboot phone and press back button when phone vibrates on fusion logo this will take you into cwm
6. Follow from step 5 on how to install
From flashing kernel to Rom booted will take 10mins
If you get stuck use search or google, just remember you are not the first person to ask and there are LOADS of tutorials on how to do everything on here
One other thing super jelly bean are only one out off I think 4 or 5 roms which are based on jelly bean CM10 The most of the rest are ICS which use different kernels
Don't be afraid, sjb is a worth-messing-up rom. If you got bootloop you've got your friend afterall.

I am currently doing this. Flashed the .img with flashtool and fully-wiped. The problem is I can't install the Super Jelly Bean rom that i copied into my external sdcard. It says Can't mount Sdcard. Any helps from the seniors please? In addition I've actually searched numerous but none of them seems to work with this particular version of CWM which included in the SJB package from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134257. Hi everyone,
I have tried searching but was not able to find what I was looking for.
I would like to install Cyanogen 9 RC2 on my phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757323
I currently have an early version of CM10 GSM Jelly Bean on there, which is missing some of the core features (they will come with time!). According to the instructions though, the zip file is supposed to contain a boot.img file to flash it.
Guessing its my newbieness, but, where do I get this file? How do I extract it from the archive to flash with?
Code:
Rom Installation:
Flash boot.img in fastboot
FACTORY Reset
[B]Flash the ROM[/B]
reboot
boot rom
reboot back into recovery
Flash GApps
Reboot into the system (first boot will take several minutes)
Thanks muchly! As well, if someone can point me to a handy user guide for this kind of thing, that would be awesome. As of now I'm only barely able to finger this stuff out. Took me over an hour to unlock my phone haha
:/
U READ THE INSTRUCTIONS WRONG :/
""DONT FLASH THE BOOT.IMG INSIDE THE ZIP""
U can simply use KISS kernel open :
http://www.mediafire.com/?7hq6ikra7w0kt
open the 1 wid cm9 written in it ..rename it to boot.img ...
this kernel has several advantages lik sweep2unlock and usb host <3

Sorry, new to this stuff. Please don't hate!
I had just installed CM 10 which did require a boot.img flash, so I was a bit confused with the "Flash the ROM" portion of the install.
So with CM 9, I just plop the zip on my phone's SD, fire up recovery, load, bob's my uncle?
You need to flash a kernel for cm9 go to the KISS kernel thread http://www.mediafire.com/?7hq6ikra7w0kt pick a kernel and flash it via fastboot, just like you did the CM10 kernel, boot into recovery ,wipe data, cache and format system, flash the CM9 ROM and the Gapps, reboot!

Yey! Thanks man. Exactly what I needed. I'm installed and up/running.
Having a bit of an issue with the SD card, it won't detect it. Card works fine in my computer; tried another one as well. Tried mounting/unmounting, rebooting, violently protesting in the streets, nothings working.
I'm not even sure where to begin fixing that. Any suggestions? Thanks!

This is another rookie posting about roms. This is my issue; I have been trying for quiet a long time to install a custom room on my galaxy S2 from T-mobile. However, I haven’t been successful in my goals. Rooting the phone is quiet simple I encounter no problems with that part. When it comes to installing a custom rom is a failure. For starters I would like to install is CM9 stable Version. Right now I’m on square one; as I’m writing this post I’m also rooting my devices. If you guys could guide me through the installation and kernels necessary it would really make me a happy camper. Thanks.

It seems that you are able to get your device rooted (which isnt too difficult to do when on 4.0.4 or 4.0.3 on a t989). Flashing roms are very easy. Simply download the zip file from the download section of the CyanogenMod website (MAKE 100% SURE ITS THE T989 aka HERCULES rom) otherwise you will 99% permanently brick your phone and cant fix it. Very simple method usually if you are running ClockworkMod Recovery. Full data wipe/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache. flash rom from sdcard (zip file) and then if the rom requires (flash the gapps for that rom). Like the guy above me said, you can find a ton of posts here that have tutorials on how to do it, or even a YouTube video.

4. format /system
5. format/data
6. format cache
7. exit mounts and storage menu

Hi All, looking for a replacement for my xperia pro I found this phone. I'm pretty familiar with freexperia flashing and roms. Can I find something like that for this phone? I mean a decluttered rom that it's updated frequently. All captivates can be flashed to custom roms? do I need to unlock the bootloader or something like that?
Thanks!
Well long story short here this phone is real easy to root and flash a recovery onto. No bootloader unlock needed. And we have plenty of top-of-the line Roms that get updated often.

Hello,
from noob to noob my suggestion is to READ.
Consider to reserve your questions for something you are totally unable to face by yourself or you can't find by yourself just using "Search".
To answer your question, there's a huge "sticky" thread at the top of the general section. I'll find all the guides you need, including how to root, how to flash a recovery, and the thread related to new rom, each of them beginning with information and guide.
It's the very first thread.
No offense, i'm a noob me too.
for tethering... check the app store im sure there are free utilities that will allow you to tether ..
If you switch up your rom to JellyBean (as there are no stable FULLY working AOSP roms) you'll be missing some things.. ie: keyboard lights, pictures don't save with proper rotation, bluetooth headset, no ability to use skype ... some roms dont have wifi tethering working...
Rootbox 4.2.2 gives the best battery so far, keyboard lights don't work though...
Check out the "Everything SAmsung Glide" thread under development, read about the roms that are active and it should give you a great start!
Welcome to the community!

I find that the keyboard lights patch that ties lights to capacitive buttons does not make a real difference in battery life. I use it and my battery last as long as without it.

Ummm we flash with recovery here...you can open the zip file and paste the boot.img into manually if you like. That's about it. We don't deal with fastboot or hboot with this phone. Sony phones are a lot different. Like I said, download litekernel and flash with twrp or cwm. its as simple as that...as long as the version of the kernel matches the rom version. There is litkernel ics or for jb. You want litekernel ics. So do some reading then come back and ask questions.

step 1 put phone in download mode (like sony's fastboot mode).
step 2 flash custom recovery (which cointains the kernel I guess) using hemdall
step 3 boot into recovery and flash rom and gapps
I read several ppl lost imei info. I tried to backup but looks like requires root. Do I need to root stock, backup imei and then install the custom rom?
thanks!!

About the step "flash kernel", do I have to flash litekernel ICS or JB depending the rom version of course, however, what about if I just want to use cyanogenmod provided kernel inside the zip? just I have to skip that step? what kernel do you recommend if I want to use cyanogenmod?
thanks for all the help guys, you have made me the job much easier!!

well for one you already flashed cobrato's kernel so you're ready to flash a stock based ROM like Trinity Vengeance...
if you want to flash an AOSP or CM based ROM like PACMAN or CM10.1 just download the ROM package, extract the boot.img that's inside the package, fastboot flash the boot.img, reboot to recovery [they already have their own recovery with the kernel], wipe data and cache and then flash the ROM package

bugs will always be there bro, what with all the modding and scripting that developers do on a ROM..you just have to find the right workarounds in my opinion
i really understand that... but this "bugs" about i'm saying is from based source(Installation conflicts)... i just will do a clean re-installing to be sure... maybe when sony release new Update some bugs disappear...
I'll do it tomorrow ... enough for today(1:10 AM here) ... Thanks for help me (I still have to re-format my PC today ... another thing is full of bugs)
...
If you can pass me the setup order to install the trinity ROM with Forzaferrileo kernel i will enjoy it
bye :highfive:
I have a doubt now ... to flash the. TFT file, making a clean re-installation, what i need wipe, format or do the factory restore? in what order?
and after that.. I'll have to do the root again? ... neither the unlock the bootloader? ...

what i did when i flashed trinity was:
flash cobrato kernel
reboot to recovery
wipe data/factory reset and cache
flash trinity rom
reboot to system
if you wanna flash forzaferrarileo kernel after flashing the rom just fastboot flash it or use flashtool..i dunno if you can use forzaferrarileo kernel to flash the rom, but i beleive you can do so since it has cwm recovery already
Make sure you have the latest version of Flashtool.
