I have a razr maxx running 4.04 i am rooted and trying to update to 4.1.2 that was recently released but installing it fails everytime. I tried installing in recovery from ext-sd card and here is the "error" i get:

my name is Fernando and I'm having some issues trying to install the froyo on my phone. Maybe you guys can give a hand.
The problem is that the update I got is from OTA and when I try to install after download it he gives me a error message saying: "failure to verify whole-file signature" and "signature verification failed".
I have a HTC desire rooted from 3 network UK, I used unrevoked 3 to root and I have no idea how what to do and need some help please.

its because your rooted, unroot and install the update

That would be retarded!
If you accept the OTA, you won't be able to root and/or change ROM, so forget about the OTA - you have a custom recovery, so just flash a custom 2.2 from recovery!

Managed to lose my original 2.1 framework-res.apk. Not being allowed to update froyo cause of it.. can someone upload the original file for me please..

ok so ive adb pushed the file god knows how many times.. I keep trying to install ota but its continuing to give me an error reguarding the file.. I dont think its working either cause i still have the Hulk framework installed.. WHat am i doing wrong please help!

Try to redownload the 2.2 update. It could just have been a bad download.

When installing CM7 in cwm I get the folowing error:

I downloaded the zeusc_beta_FXP025 archive twice, and it extracted multiple tmes as well, to be sure it want user error, sounds like a corrupt download, but two in a row? Others seem not to have this issue...
Any thoughts?

You can always try opening the update .zip and deleting the get .prop lines from the update script

Sorry it took so long to update this post, I've been super busy, and unable to reply. Just to let every body know, Alejandrissimo did me right he got me fixed up and back to normal (unlocked and functional) in about 5 minutes. If any body has trouble with a soft brick (i.e. no fastboot) Alejandrissimo is your man.

AndroHero, I some how managed to get it figured out just by folowing the directions (Imagine that) on the FXP post. Running 41 goodness now.

The original 7.1.0 release seems to have been bugged, this is 7.1.0.1. Seems to be fixing any install issues.

hi i have an evo 4g i recently was trying to change my rom on it and i keep getting thise "assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot")" error status 7 aborted . every time i try to load the new rom n now its stuck on the boot page plz HELP!
Seems like a bad download, try again. Always download using pc and put on root of SD card. See if that's a go. Hope this helps.

Are you sure you downloaded the right version for your phone?
You need the maguro version.
Try download it again and make sure its the maguro version.
If that doesn't work try reflash cwm to the newest version.

We don't have cdma in Ireland only GSM.
i downloaded the GSM and didnt work but ill try it again but it's weird cause i used the Android Revolution Wipe and i flashed that and it worked fine but soon went to install Rom it gave me that :S
It could be a bad download too.
Try flashing another version of cwm by fastboot and see of that works if flashing the rom again doesn't work.
What the error is saying is that the zip doesn't match the type of phone you have so either its the wrong version, corrupt download or cwm isn't working properly.
Are you downloading on your computer and the transferring to your phone via USB??
