Signature error when install froyo - Desire General

Hi there,
my name is Fernando and I'm having some issues trying to install the froyo on my phone. Maybe you guys can give a hand.
The problem is that the update I got is from OTA and when I try to install after download it he gives me a error message saying: "failure to verify whole-file signature" and "signature verification failed".
I have a HTC desire rooted from 3 network UK, I used unrevoked 3 to root and I have no idea how what to do and need some help please.
Thanks a lot
Fernando

That would be retarded!
If you accept the OTA, you won't be able to root and/or change ROM, so forget about the OTA - you have a custom recovery, so just flash a custom 2.2 from recovery!

Issues with ROMs: Installation Aborted

I perm rooted my G2 last night and I have been trying to install the nexdroid ROM for several hours. I followed all the directions and I booted to recovery, wiped all my memory, and when I clicked on the zip file to install, it said something along the lines of:
Cannot find update
Installation aborted.
So later I tried to install the cyanogenmod ROM and the same exac thing happened. I checked with terminal emulator to see that I am still rooted and I still have S-OFF. Any help would be appreciated because the nexdroid ROM looks amazing.

Are the files on the root of your SD card? If you can find and select the file and it aborts the install it could be a bad file download. I'm not really sure as I've never had that happen.
Either way, If you post this in the Q & A forum you are 100% more likely to get some useful help.

Which guide did you follow to root?
Do you have the SU binary installed?
Did you grant ROM Manager SU rights?

Assuming the answers to Gabriel's questions check out, perhaps you should try the 4EXT Recovery by madmaxx82. I'm finding I prefer it to the original CwM 3.0.2.4. So many more features...

I don't think it's because of having root access but if you really want you have to use the RUU. Get it from here. It should come pre-installed with FroYo.

There might be a problem mounting your SD card. Try a different one and see if that works.

[Q] ROM: MIUI-XJ update help

I have been using MIUI-XJ for a short period of time. I got notification that the ROM has an update and I tried to do so using the inbuilt updater. However the update gets blocked by Clockwork Recovery - Signature not verified? What is this issue about? Is there a way to get around it or am I better off not doing the update?
just go into recovery an flash the update manualy. install zip from sd card -choose the update from the downloaded_rom folder. and if he gives the same error just toggle signature verification OFF in recovery and flash again.
hope this helps.
Thank you - will try this out.
It works!!
Offcourse ;-)

This guide will get 5.0.2.6 installed on your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213229
Once you boot up, go to play store and download rom manager. Use it to flash to the latest, up to date, version (currently 5.0.2.8).

Hmmm...
The only thing I can think of is to get the RUU for your phone from football's thread and run it. Then try installing cwm again. Make sure you get the correct RUU, if you use wrong one you could brick your phone.
Good luck.
