Issues with ROMs: Installation Aborted - G2 and Desire Z Themes and Apps

I perm rooted my G2 last night and I have been trying to install the nexdroid ROM for several hours. I followed all the directions and I booted to recovery, wiped all my memory, and when I clicked on the zip file to install, it said something along the lines of:
Cannot find update
Installation aborted.
So later I tried to install the cyanogenmod ROM and the same exac thing happened. I checked with terminal emulator to see that I am still rooted and I still have S-OFF. Any help would be appreciated because the nexdroid ROM looks amazing.

Are the files on the root of your SD card? If you can find and select the file and it aborts the install it could be a bad file download. I'm not really sure as I've never had that happen.
Either way, If you post this in the Q & A forum you are 100% more likely to get some useful help.

when flashing the build for cm7 could i do it using ClockWork Mod v2.5.1.2 or is there a special recovery i need to flash before trying to put cm7
reason i ask is because on the MT4G you need to flash recovery to v3.0.0.0+ before flashing cm7 build
if someone could please responf on this thread or pm me would be awesome!
Thank You
pretty sure you can just flash it the regular way.. wouldn't see why not as the gingerbread roms are flashed through the regular cwm also

well sounds like you already have the latest Clockwork installed? if so, I believe UnRevoked comes with a downgraded version so I would try and downgrade the version on your phone see if it helps
Well I'm able to go into recovery it's just when I try and use rom manager or titanium backup it comes up saying the phone doesn't have root privileges so I thought it wasnt rooted properly. If I'm rooted because I can go into recovery and it shows s= off in h boot then how do I fix the privileges part of it all?

This happened to me after I used unrevoked. It ran successfully, I tested w/ rom manager and it worked. I then rebooted a few minutes later and tried using several other root apps and none could obtain root privelages. So, I flashed a custom ROM (cyanogen 6.1) then had full root access again. Maybe that will help?

Where does the img go so that CWM can see it on my phone? Or do I boot into CWM and update it that way?
Did you change the build.prop for the Google Wallet work around? Change it back, everything should work again.

I had this problem last night myself...turns out it was due to the version of CWM recovery I was running, which was v5.4.x.x, IIRC. I used adb to install the latest version of CWM, v.6.0.x.x IIRC and reattempted the flash and it worked fine.
noob question, but since CM10 doesn't have a Rogers version, are you using the AT&T one?
thanks!!
Thanks to everyone who posted about the d2tt.img recovery...it finally soved that problem.
Thank You!

Lost root access. Need help!!!

Hi i rooted my phone (HTC One V) long time ago and have a custom ROM. I still have superuser in my settings. Yesterday, i don't know why, i installed superSU from play store but soon uninstalled it. Today i installed an app and it says device not rooted. I intakes superSU again and it said no SU binaries. In my settings there is superuser but i installed a root checker and it said no proper root found. Dies that mean i will have to root it again. I have sphongle ROM and Clockwork recovery (something like that). I am not an expert. Please help!!!

It wouldn't have been a problem. But I bricked my tablet a week ago and am trying to avoid it. I seem to have got scared since then. Any easy way. And i checked my apps lost superuser access too.

I bet that while uninstalling the new SU app, it also uninstalled some SU binaries as a part of it. Just reflash the old SU trough recovery and no harm will be done. If you are scared you can always make a full backup.
I rooted my phone a long time ago by following tutorials. I failed a lot of times in the process. It took me 10 hrs to install my first custom ROM (legit good 10hrs since i started rooting and was stuck in HTC logo) Because i always did some mistakes. I am not scared of loosing data. I am scared of bricking my phone. Besides i don't remember what exactly i did when i rooted it. Right now I have a custom ROM (sphongle) and have clockwork recovery. Can some give me the link to files and tell me what exactly i need to do. I don't have much knowledge about rooting and stuff. Since i bricked my tablet. I really have got scared. I just lost confidence. It is funny but i have custom ROM and recovery but no root (that's what i think).

Best way is then just to follow the guides once again. Just look for Rooting your HOV and flashing ROM guide here on forums. Follow and enjoy.
But i already have recovery boot loader unlocked and a custom ROM. Are u trying to say i have to do all of that again. Isn't there any way to just install something like a zip from recovery ?

Thanks a lot. It is updating binaries. Didn't try any superuser app yet but trust you guys. Thanks a lot once again.
Thank you so much guys. I finally have root again. Superuser in settings is useless now but it doesn't matter. And in superSU settings there was an option to make it system app. Should I do it ?
