I do not use that ROM but you may want to flash the latest version since I think it is on V10

NonTouchWiz Rom + LTE

Just curious for those of you guys on custom roms (AOSP for ex) that is not TouchWiz, is there something that needs to be done when T-Mobile activates LTE in a week or 2? I know there was some firmware patches going around to enable LTE, but that's for the stock rom. I don't have a Note2 yet, but I'm thinking about getting it soon since the Galaxy S3 doesn't have LTE Radio. I'm thinking of using AOSP rom ASAP after I get it, but one of the reasons to swap to a Note 2 is LTE radio.
Does something need to be flashed, like a new modem or will the LTE just work? Or do we have to wait for the AOSP roms to have LTE implemented?

Thanks can I download straight through my phone? Or do I need to connect to my computer? Also Each time I change rom I need to update the modem correct? Thanks for your help sir
Radio is flashed just like a kernel. Go in CWM or TWRP, wipe cache / dalvik, and flash. My original concern was that some roms may not have LTE options embeded, thus got me wondering. Though playing around with LiquidSmooth on my GS3, I just realized they do have LTE settings in the Mobile Network Settings > Preferred Network Mode.

[Q] Can not save APN and blank after rom flash

I've been working on this and searching for two weeks now and have found nothing that matches our exact problem or fixes it. I've been rooting/flashing phones for years so I'm not new to this but this is definitely a new problem for me... I'm helping a friend flash Cyanogenmod on his Note 2 and have been working on it solid for the past 2 days to no avail.
Phone: T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-T889)
Problem: No APN in Cyanogenmod, unable to create one/save, unable to restore APN from backed up APN from stock rom.
Thoughts: I believe that the problem lies in the fact that I can't save the APN which may have to do with the way the newer rom deals with APN's or with the way that it interfaces with the SIM card.
Currently I have the phone flashed with CWM touch and I have backup's of the stock rom which is rooted and also of Cyanogenmod 10.1 for N7100. This is the only ROM i've been able to get flashed on the phone and it seems that this is what rom manager tells you to install so I think this is the right one. I've also seen other DIY's that tell you to use the t0lte rom but that one fails the device check before flashing.
Stock Rom: When we have the stock rom flashed, everything works fine. There is a valid APN and we have no problems.
CyanogenMod: When we flash back to this rom or flash from an image, there is no cell signal. When you check the APN's there are none. We are unable to manually create an APN. If you enter the info, press menu button and click save, it does not error but does not save the APN. We are also unable to restore the APN with APN Backup & Restore. I've set the restore app as a system app and ignore the ICS warning as you are supposed to do and it appears to be writing the APN data but afterwards when you check, there is still no APN.
The only thing I have left is to go figure out how to check the logs after I try to save the APN. I'm not sure how to do this yet so I'm going to go learn how to do that now but I'm hoping someone might have some insight into this issue before I have to go down that road...
If I've left out any useful information please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any help!!! I've used this community forum for many years but this will be one of my first posts... I'm truly stumped.
Also, this may be important. I started reading into modems and such thinking that the modem may not be compatible or may not be able to interface with the sim card and I found that when you check the baseband version in Cyanogenmod, it says Unknown.
Maybe this is becuase it is an i7100 ROM on a T889 device?
When you flash a Cyanogenmod ROM, does it flash the appropriate modem with it? Also, when you back up your rom in CWM, does that backup/restore the modem?

ROMS do not include modems. I think you should be flashing the 7105 not 7100

Ok, good to know. And it always seems to happen this way but I think I've solved the problem. Regarding 7105 vs 7100 however, not sure I've seen the 7105, nor have I seen any diy's that instruct you to use that rom on the tmobile T889. Is that a variant or something?
I was reading more on the wiki for cyanogenmod and saw someone post the same problem where the t0lte rom wouldn't flash through CWM. They suggested flashing TWRP, which I did and it worked perfectly. We have cell signal and everything!
So if you're having the same issue flashing the t0lte Cyanogenmod 10.1 to a Galaxy Note 2 (T-Mobile) try flashing through TWRP recover instead of CWM.

The only ROMS that will work on the TMO variant are ROMS based on the T889 source or the 7105 source. The CM is based on the 7105 source.

Very good to know. Thanks for the quick replies and help!!
We realized 4g wasn't working and attempted flashing a newer modem which I'm sure helped but didn't fix the 4g problem. Flashing a newer nightly did however resolve the issue... Hopefully that info will help someone else...
I recently had the same problem in my recently owned Galaxy S2 Skyrocket after trying the first Rom which is Cyanogenmod 10.2 Stable with UCMC1 radio.
I figured that the problem had something to do with my provider, so i sorted it just putting it in airplane mode before adding the APN. Theres one little catch, you cant access the Mobile Settings button while you are in airplane more, so you just open the APN list window before putting it in airplane mode via the quick launch menu,, then the apn will save with no problem.
I hope this is useful, ch33rz!:silly:

Just a question. .... Why did u install a rom that hasn't been relevant in over a year? Get on wifi if u can. Download a different rom. And flash that. Pick a rom with an active development thread. Don't pick one wayyyyyyy down at the bottom.
Try sky note 9.3 to get u started. Something 4.1.2. Don't start with a TW 4.3. If ur new. ... It's going to b a headache for u. Certain things u need to have working wifi and whatnot.

Need some help about SETTING the phone RIGHT

Hello Guys I just got Galaxy S4 from a friend of mine and I think it has the OLD BOOTLOADER my Baseband it says:
M919UVUAMDL
I need help how to setup the phone right so later on I will be able to install custom ROMS without having data drops and stuff like that...
I installed this:
[ROM] [STOCK] M919UVUEMK2 | 4.3 | Deodexed | CIQ Free | KNOX Free | 12.11.2013
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545711
when my screen is locked I have no DATA
I want to know what to install in order to make my phone working?
I wanna mention that I don't care about SAMSUNG's warranty, I wanna get fully working phone with ability to flash CyanogenMod ROMS and I wanna get Native Tether (meaning I don't want to check for plan compatibility)
I was on 4.2.2 and had data problems with most 4.3 roms too. Then I followed the steps in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544612 ignoring steps 4 & 5. It worked fine and my data is working fine on 4.3 and 4.4.x too based on my experience flashing the i9505 Goldeneye rom.

I would have just stayed on the original Stock 4.2.2 (M919UVUAMDL) and just root that FW and just use mods to customize it, such as Xposed. I usually update to the latest and greatest Stock FW available, but KNOX has kept me from doing so. I don't see any advantages that 4.3 has over 4.2.2. Now when 4.4.2 comes out, that I WILL be updating to when a ROM comes out for it. Till then, i'm on 4.2.2 Stock TW. Once in a while though, I do use AOSP ROMs, then I use the latest and greatest.

You do realize that you won't catch the so called Knox pox UNLESS you Odin flash official 4.3, right? No sense in staying on 4.2.2 unless you just prefer it. A simple modem update and you'll be rocking 4.3 with no data drops OR Knox as long as you flash via custom recovery (pretty much every TouchWiz ROM in the development section) and not stock firmware in Odin.

[Q] what would an expert do?

I have a galaxy note 2 i317. I am using the Jedi x rom it is 4.1.2. I really like the rom and would under normal circumstances just leave that rom on this phone forever, but I just got a galaxy gear fit. It will not work with my current rom. I require 4.2.2. I can find roms, but many are less than 200 mb. I know that is not a full os. I downloaded ezkat and it would not install, so I went back to my jedi x backup. The ezkat was 1.23 gb and jedi x is almost 1gb. Any ideas on a rom that is kitkat 4.4 ( I only need 4.2.2 but if I am gonna update, I may as well get the latest update I can get) I want cyanogen also. I know someone out there has a perfect solution for me, please help me with fixing this. Thank you for your time in this matter
