[Q] Back-up - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Just a quick question. If I am not rooted, how can I back up my efs and ROM without having a custom recovery? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I really don't know.

Restore clockworkmod backup to another phone?( similar thread provided, but... )

Hi... I found this similar thread with my question. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1502853
This thread only tell using clockworkmod backup to the **same** galaxy Ace device. But now what I wanna do is " I'll use galaxy note 2 clockworkmod recovery backup to restore them in galaxy S4." it's **different** device and can I still do that? Any example of brick phone with this method?

Highly recommended Dont do this ,
It will Restore your previous phone EFS and you will lose the IMIE of your new device and will be in deep trouble.
OMG, I was right to post this question with a small doubt.. Thanks so much..

Glad you posted the question here :good:
you're better off using titanium backup, and only restore user apps/data.
this way you only copy over the things that are safe to copy over.
For switch over device, titanium is best
Make full backup on old device
Restore 'missing application with dada' batch scenario in new device.

I know that, but I thought it's safe because I backed up stock rom. Losing imei will be very terrible. It's ok now after all ... Thanks for all advices. ^_^

Rooting and flashing

So is it safe to root and flash roms on this phone? Im kind of confused when it comes to rooting.

It's no more unsafe than rooting/flashing on other devices. Just use this for root, GooManager or ROM Manager from the Play Store to flash either TWRP or CWM recovery respectively, and then whichever recovery you choose to flash the ROM of your choice. Not complicated at all, just make sure you read and understand the directions before doing it. If you're unsure of something, read more and search. I won't say every single scenario about rooting and flashing has been covered, but chances are any questions one may have, have already been covered.
The point is that if you feel unsecured about rooting thinking somethin is gona go wrong then give it to someone who has experience at rooting and you'll have nothing to worry about.. Read the stickies on the android development and it will give you info of what you want and need to know

I just rooted and flashed a rom. It was very simple just like the s3.

[Q] Returning to stock ???

I'm currently running stock
de-bloated... Was on CM 10.1 but was still to buggy for me.
My question is has anyone ran into any problems restoring to original CWM backup's ? I thought I saw someone mention something about having trouble but can't find the post.
And by original I mean rooted with loki-fied recovery already installed.

I currently flip back and fourth between my personal debloated stock and CM10.1, and I have not had any issues.
It could be because I always wipe everything including internal SD.

Some noob questions regarding restore to stock.

I am running OmniROM with franco kernel. Is there any way to revert to stock WITHOUT using a PC. No nandroid backup.
I want to reach the stock, rooted, unlocked and running twrp state. Any flashable zip that can do that? Or any other method?
