i am not sure. but they dont ask too many questions when ya take them in either tho lol. in my experience if they dont see superuser they dont care lol
Almost all (I understand there are a select few, like myself) repair people only look for Superuser and if they don't see it then they don't really dig any deeper. I have a customer who comes into the store all the time and works with metal and other things like that so his speakers are always messed up and he has been refused service because his phone was rooted. Obviously if I was there I wouldn't care but now when he comes in he just hides the applications (Superuser, Titanium Backup, etc..) and makes the phone look "normal". Just in case I am not there, which happens often.

In my experience, half the time if you just get to talking with a good rep, and they see some sort of effort to return it to stock, they are pretty cool. Generally the repair people, like Epic, know rooting happens and have there's done as well. Just be cool with them.

I had my GS2 stolen and got stuck with an LG Optimus T for about 2 months until I got my S3. I was at this resort with a swimming pool and I put my phone inside of what I thought was a pretty nice security locker, it had a pin that you put in to unlock and lock it. So I typed in my code locked the locker and went for a quick swim with my friends and some chicks and when I came back my locker was broken, my wallet was on the floor (they stole my money), and my phone was gone. I don't think I've ever felt so robbed in my life, it's almost like I had a baby and someone kidnapped it. Then about a month later I was hanging out with my friends and some guy left his phone at the table and my friend tried to steal it but I took it from him and gave it back to the guy, it was a HTC G2 or something like that. Ever since I keep 3 programs on my phone at all times: Cerberus, Lookout, and Where's my droid.
So.. I just got my replacement phone from T-Mobile. Last ones USB port failed. Any who I haven't rooted or anything. Gonna leave it non rooted and sell this bad boy for a pretty penny to add towards my Nexus 4.
Anywho I just checked About Phone in the settings and my base band is T989UVLI1. My build number is IMM76D.UVLI1.

Android version 4.0.4/ Software number T989UVLI1
Approved 11/5/12
Improvements
Pinch & Zoom backend changes – No visible user changes
Prerequisites
You cannot check for Samsung software updates or download this software. T-Mobile will not push this as an OTA, because it does not offer new benefits.
This software is only on a newly purchased or exchanged devices.
This software was created for new devices only in order to meet a Samsung requirement for all carriers.
Both software numbers T989UVLH1, T989UVLDE and T989UVLI1 are the most updated software available.

From the docs provided, T-mobile does not intend on releasing it, not even optionally. Perhaps you can provide a system dump, to show tmobile, dont worry about, we got this!

Well... I just flashed CM10 stable. IMO The stock ROM wasn`t worth it. There was no noticeable change from UVLH1 that I saw. In fact I thought it ran a bit worse. Maybe it was all the bloat. But the radio I haven`t changed so we can still rip that bad boy out. Fullflex still has his stock UVLI1 installation intact though.

ok guys, as you can see by my sig, i flip back and forth between a few devices. yesterday when this deal went live, i installed next launcher on both my s3 and my xoom and successfully activated the full version. i intentionally did not install the launcher on my htc amaze.
today, i went ahead and sent my tb backup from my s3 to my amaze to see if my backup would activate the full version on a device that did not have next launcher installed. it seems as tho the code is authenticated when the app is launched and so i got a failed activation. i turned off my data connection, cleared the apps data and restored my tb data and it showed the full version UNTIL i turned my data connection back on and the app was reloaded. so, if you have another device you did not install and activate the full version on, your backup is useless.
next, i uninstalled the launcher from my xoom that had a previously confirmed full version. i reinstalled next launcher and restored my tb data to see if i would retain the full version. guess what...it worked fine!
it seems as tho the activation is tied in with the device ID, so if you uninstall it and use your backup it will only work on the device it was originally activated on. keep this in mind when you upgrade or flash roms that change the device ID. TB has a feature to restore the previous device ID after flashing, so this may be helpful for those ppl that want to continue using next launcher full version even after theyve flashed a new rom or upgraded.

Just passing this along. enjoy! :good:
Download the trial version of Next Launcher 3D to get started, and choose Get Free when the splash screen comes up. To unlock it, open the menu and go into preferences. Since this interface is going to take some getting used to, I'll just let you know the menu button is in the far right dock position. In preferences, scroll all the way down and tap on About Full Version. Choose the Activate option, and put in "nextlauncher3d" as the account, and "appoftheday" as the code (both without the quotes). The app should be unlocked and you can play around without worrying about the trial period expiring.
This unlock code is only valid today, and it won't tie the upgrade to your Google account permanently. So think about backing up the app using Helium or Titanium Backup if you want to be safe. Next Launcher also overrides the background image in all launchers when it's installed. You can change it back, but still a small annoyance. All the Go widget packs are installed separately, but they appear to all be free.

Right, and the Galaxy S5 will still look like Touchwiz, and the HTC One will still look like Sense. I don't understand why people think that OEM's with skins on Android were going to suddenly go all stock for Lollipop. We all bought a phone with a LG UI on it, now it's not good enough, because it doesn't look like a Nexus. I honestly don't understand why people are surprised by this. At all.

Well, I was hoping they would listen to customer feedback and get rid of the crap they call a TW. One can dream...

They have all invested too heavily in their own UI to scrap it for stock. The only way we're getting stock Android is buy a Nexus or flash an AOSP ROM. OEM's are never going to just suddenly go stock.
You all do realize that the UI is the least we should be interested in... Visual look can be modified, themed. I'm far more interested in all the system improvements.

Motorola was nowhere near Samsung or HTC is in their UI. I think the last popular Motorola phone was the Razr.
