Screenshots of lollipop update on g3 released! - T-Mobile LG G3

So plastic posted this just a bit ago. Enjoy! http://phandroid.com/2014/11/06/lg-g3-lollipop-screenshots/

It looks the same.... ugh too much LG skin and not enough Lollipop.
Transmission sent from my LG G3.

It better get a bunch more work done.
I love LG but come on. They are covering a lot of the goods up. It doesn't look much different from what we have now, which is a downer. So hopefully LG updates there interface atleast to go along with the look.

Yeah not diggin it if thats official.. I feel like though different variants will look slightly different.

Sigh looks like I'm going with the Android L launcher instead of LGs

Looks like we may be getting the update soon:

Right, and the Galaxy S5 will still look like Touchwiz, and the HTC One will still look like Sense. I don't understand why people think that OEM's with skins on Android were going to suddenly go all stock for Lollipop. We all bought a phone with a LG UI on it, now it's not good enough, because it doesn't look like a Nexus. I honestly don't understand why people are surprised by this. At all.

They have all invested too heavily in their own UI to scrap it for stock. The only way we're getting stock Android is buy a Nexus or flash an AOSP ROM. OEM's are never going to just suddenly go stock.

You all do realize that the UI is the least we should be interested in... Visual look can be modified, themed. I'm far more interested in all the system improvements.

Motorola was nowhere near Samsung or HTC is in their UI. I think the last popular Motorola phone was the Razr.

What Rom/Launcher is this Guy Using?

As the title states, what Rom/Launcher is this guy in the video using? The video is interesting iOS6 vs. Android arguement, but I'm not trying to start a debate here. Skip to 1:08 for the good stuff.

Why dont you ask that guy? And why dont you post in the q&a sections? So tired of noobs!
settle down there, champ. honest mistake on my part. MODs feel free to move or close if you feel this is "inappropriate"
sifted through about 5 pages of comments with others asking the same question but no replies
It's in the notes. Dark pie. It's just some images used with certain apps to create that look.

I actually ran into the video last night as well and decided it a go. As mikeyinid said, it is simply a clever use of nova launcher, widget locker and some custom wallpapers. Armando gives a great walk-through on how to do this but the problem i ran into was the fact that this was built for a gnex, which has a nav bar. I realize we can enable ours as well (in AOSP ROMs) but I personally don't like the look of it. Without the nav bar, it causes the wallpapers and icons to become misaligned with the intended layout, so I decided to bail
Nevertheless, a very interesting setup. I recommend anyone who uses an AOSP ROM w/ a Nav Bar to give this theme a go. Be warned, there is quite a bit a setup time but should be well worth it in the end
I actually like the ui looks

Actually is easy since he gives all the backup files and you restore them with nova, I was going to keep it but the problem is the apps icons are too small, since you need to have 6 by 6 to run the on the launcher it doesn't work good for me, I use 6 by 4 on nova
This work better for me

I have the same theme on my phone. Only problems was the other two wallpapers & the lockscreen (didn't like the lockscreen anyway, so I kept my old one). I did remove all the other screens execpt the home screen. Also added a few wigets. I'm luvin' it.
He has really good instructions on how to do this, it requires a lot of time and patience.

you should return it and wait for the T-Mobile's LTE S3 version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2090216
No point in getting an out-dated phone
You should of went to radioshack then used the gs3 hspa model for a month until the lte one arrived. There's gonna be a lot of pissed off customers, I would have been one of them if I didn't leave T-Mobile for sprint a few months ago lte is worth the wait .I thought hspa was fast buy it don't compare.

hahaha nah im good! ive wanted this phone forever! and i dont really care for LTE or whatever, i have wifi at work and my apt so im set! =)
Since you are on MAC, you might want to check out this thread: Rooting JB OTA from OS X (no flash counter).
I'm a PC guy so I am not sure it is possible or not but you might be able to boot Linux from a liveCD and use ADB to root it that way. That is if you know how to use ADB/SDK. MintLinux and PuppyLinux are both pretty good versions to do that with.
Good luck and welcome to the forums.

I recommend installing Swipepad, fantastic app. It's basically a quick launcher for any app off any screen you're in.
If you wanna switch keyboards then Def go with SwiftKey Flow beta. The beta isn't on the play store tho. You have to download it off the SwiftKey website. Non root required btw. Just hit download then open the file. Nova Launcher is my favorite launcher. Battery Stats Plus and Pocket are nice apps also. Must have Flipboard as well.

Our current phones will not support LTE and would need to upgrade to the ones coming out here in the next couple months.
I see no reason to waste monies like that as HSPA+ is fine and won't be a hog on the battery.

Just caught a post regarding missing JB clock and other features..someone stated a possible leaked, early version
Few articles popping up supporting this theory
Not to mention, folks are having a lot of difficulty installing manually
Just an FYI
What other features are missing? IMO JB clock isn't a big loss anyway, there are plenty of 3rd party imitators of it if you really need it. I haven't updated yet since I'm waiting on flashable zip, but it'd be disappointing if some important features were incomplete or left out. If it's just missing widgets then no big deal.

No, but seriously.
I work for Sprint. If I wanted to lie or exaggerate I would troll everyone and tell you all the update is out. But really, it's not. The real Jelly Bean update is not out. Neither Sprint, nor LG will tell you it is. It is not on any legitimate website, my internal sales portal, or anything else black OPs like.
There was an incomplete leak. Some people are using that through a manual update. They are doing so at their own risk. Period.

It'd be sad but at the same time bitterly humorous if someone secretly threw off a malware infested ROM that's harvesting information from our phones as we speak. In all likelihood it was probably just someone doing us a favor in the higher ups. Or LG just never told Sprint about the update and pushed it out on their own. I'm certainly glad we got it, leak or not.

It isn't any less private than the regular Facebook app. This is a really tiny launcher that just pulls everything from the app and displays it to you front and center. You can still access all the stuff on your phone easily, but I don't care that much about Facebook so I don't gain anything from using this. It's not bad, just not for me.

I think it would be nice on phones like the Galaxy Ace or a Wildfire S. Just the smaller lower end phones because i hang around with university girls all the time and thats what they have and they use them for Facebook 24-7. But im an 18 year old guy i dont use facebook much besides chatting and i don't exactly enjoy a distorted blown up cover photo that looks like it was taken with a potato as my background instead of the HD backgrounds im used to. I like the concept of the floating head chat just for multitasking but that's about it

Kernel source has been out for over a week. This is just an FYI: https://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensourceList?types=ALL&search=LGD851

Wow. I had no clue! Wish I knew how to develop. Can't believe we don't have anything yet! Development in the g3 is seeming kinda slow for such a great device.

Only one version has a truly unlocked bootloader and full custom recovery. Maybe there aren't many devs that bought the TMO G3.

It seems they all bought different models. A lot probably bought the d855. I know some bought the d850.

Wow! Not every model has a recovery yet? That's odd. This was one of the easiest devices to root. At least the d851 was. Kinda sux the way LG does their models. But I know it was the same on the g2, this should be a much more popular phone than the g2 (imo), but development was awesome on the g2,so hears hoping!

Recovery has to do with bootloader, not root. The D855 has a tethered TWRP recovery. D851 has the only untethered one.
We just got the stock kernel compiling and booting ( without the 60 second lag it was causing) I am hoping to have something out over the next weekend. Can't promise anything though as I do have a full time job and a toddler.

Not at this very moment but I will let you all know.
Currently have intelli_thermal and intelliactive gov working, also intelli-KSM. haven't enabled OC'ing yet and haven't added in Faux's sound patch. as well as quite a few I/O Schedulers. As soon as I get it where I believe it to be stable I will release it.
My github is currently up to date with what I am running on my phone at this time. (I use FauxClock for all my kernel controlls)
