[Q] Xperia SL stock apps and contacts gone after rooting? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Well i rooted my phone few days ago and installed cyanogen mod 10 on my xperia sl. Everything work fine other than all the apps was gone as well as my contact, sms and sony build-in apps (walkman, movies, gallery)
Before i started i made an backup file using sony pc companian and the file format is .dbk, but after i rooted my phone the pc companian doest seems to work so yes, i lost all my contact and etc.
Now I am just wondering is there any way for me to get back the contacts and the sony buid-in apps as mentioned above? or those build-in apps only come with the stock kernel or something? Sorry about asking noob question as I have just started rooting for the first time. :silly:

You can flash back the stock ftf.Its not necessary to flash stock kernel. If u want sony apps then forget about custom rom like cm10 based

[Q] How can I revert my Arc S back to stock Kernel, ROM (2.3), etc

Hello XDA, sorry if this has been asked before but searching around for a solution is giving me a headache because of all of the technical jargon and not knowing what to do.
I upgraded my Arc S to ICS, made my kernel that of DooMLords and then installed Arconium ICS. I'm just having a lot of issues with it, such as my music skipping, games freezing and my phone crashing up to two or three times a day which is just appauling.
I'd rather just go back to Gingerbread and have my phone function well rather than enjoying the new ICS features and layout.
Could someone please tell me, or link me to a guide, that gives simple step by step instructions on how to get back to just a completely stock 2.3 Arc S?
Download .42/.58/.64 ftf file.
Flash it using flashtool..

I had some problems with the Auto Installer for CWM, so I flashed the kernel manually with fastboot.
If you want to use PC companion to update your phone, you have to flash stock kernel and firmware first as PC companion won't update phones on modified firmware.

Xperia S ROMS that dont require root.

OK i know it is a strange one but my banking app will not work on a rooted phone so installing CWM and doing it the conventional way is out until Barclays loosen up a bit.
Are there any custom ROMs that can be flashed with flashtool? or are they all a zip file and via recovery?
No banking apps will work with root. Just use the web browser

I wasn't asking about banking apps although thanks for the replys, can anyone advise on the original question please?
Any rom release by Sony then is your answer i guess. So 2.55 is the latest

Tar, so it is just stock ROMs only then? Wonderful i might as well relock the bootloader
Or just use your web browser rather than the banking app? That's all I do

I would but with the banking app my account, my joint account and my credit card all show in one place so its very handy to seep tabs on things.
The don't think you'll ever be able to use the app with root because potentially you can then mess with the app and it's data

Well I ask this because 2.3.4 is unrootable unless you flash a pre-rooted kernel so if your BL is unlocked then flash a pre-rooted kernel and install CWM recovery then install your prefered ICS ROM or I would suggest JB then flash their kernel and you should be good

I dont understand why u say "i'm using STOCK ICS"... what is STOCK ICS? Since Xperia Play never had an OFFICIAL STOCK ICS.
Anyway if u are having problem, probably u have Markphyton rom.
Advice: if u want a perfect ICS rom stable with 100% touchpad, use CM9.1
This is simple, just flash This 2.3.4 enhanced version, turn on USB debugging mode, then use SuperOneClick or flashtool to root it.

This will not help with your headphone jack issue, you will have to buy this adaptor: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-EC250-Headphones-Adaptor-1249-0456/dp/B009HW15UG/

Using the truly Ultimate HD with xperia Z looks on Xperia Arc!!
Can I Google That For You?
Just grab the latest Flashtool if you don´t already have it (http://androxyde.github.com/) and flash the stock ftf file for Arc S (https://hotfile.com/dl/167361348/43349db/LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2716).ftf.html)
