Hi guys. I'm experiencing some battery drain caused by audioout_2 wakelock. Help please? I have no idea what this is. I searched Google, didn't seem to help me too much.

Post BBS screenshots of the wakelock please. This is likely a system/app sounds issue at first guess.
I think you might get this when playing music as well. I had a good wake lock from this after a road trip.
Have ? What is AudioOut_2

I wouldn't complain about that wakelock that much. In 7 hours you burned less than 12% of your battery. and only a tiny bit of it was AudioOut2.
Odds are this would go away if you turned off system sounds.
That is the same mine says
AudioOut_2 so it is probably normal

I've seen an app mentioned a bunch of times to monitor what apps are really killing the battery, but can't remember what it's called.
Thanks in advance

I prefer gsam battery monitor, the app formerly known as bad ass battery monitor

I use both gsam and better battery stats, cpu spy as well. They're all helpful apps.

Thanks I'll have to try the others after I figure out why suddenly the market won't let me charge to my phone bill.

D/c from Wifi. Pay on 3G, then reconnect to Wifi, and bam. Also, you should try the apps before you buy. I know at least GSam and CPU Spy have free versions.

Okay I've been reading reviews on people getting 20 hours on battery with the same usage as I am, but my battery dies around 12-15 hours which I think is pretty good. Well I'll post up screenies to show you guys. Just checking if my battery life is normal before jumping ahead and buying a new battery.

I'm getting about that with about 6 hours of audio play mixed in.

May I ask how battery life is on AOSP roms, like cm?
So what's the overall way to increase battery without disabling the awesome features of this phone? I read in this thread to over charge for an hour or two, but in another thread it says not to over charge the battery... I'm confused

It all depends on how you use your phone. If you have a bunch of apps synching, terrible reception, and the screen on the brightest setting all the time you most likely won't get good battery life. I'm more than happy coming from the Nexus 4 though. That phone had horrendous battery life.

I could get a full days use with my nexus 4 and only use like 40% tasker can work wonders. I'm going to try to it on my s 4 when I let the battery settle from all my changing apps and flashing

Interesting... I use my phone A LOT though and the S4 has impressed me since day one. My nexus dies in a little over a day with no use at all.

I just set up my galaxy s 4 to do the same, I'll try it for a few days. I just use tasker to set it to turn off internet unless I have an app open which requires it.
You can set it to turn on internet and sync at intervals too.
I didnt really change anything. Shut off all features. Brightness like 25%. But I did underclock to 1.3ghz. Which stilll ran really smooth.

My brother and I have the same phones, the s4 and his battery is better. I don't understand why! We have the same exact settings, but his is black and mine is white

The battery, somewhat, got better!
But I'm installing a kernel in a few to see if that helps!

Just do what I do. I use an old car battery and I soldered leads into the back of the phone. Sure, my arms get tired and people stare at me in Wal-Mart... but I NEVER run out of battery. :good:
Fully charged 12 minutes ago. Rebooted phone and battery went even lower. Why is it doing this? It started doing this and progressively got worse when I recently installed AOKP again but didn't do this before. Should I re-install? Would that help? I've had random bugs before from aokp. But not sure if this is part of it.

Could be something wrong with the battery itself I'd try and use a friends battery if you know anyone who has the same phone

Really doesn't make any sense at the moment. Charged it back up earlier and now it's fine. Really don't understand this.

It's a problem with your UI. It gets confused and the battery percentage goes off. Calibrating it has been proven a myth.

I think I got a dud because my battery life is sucking real bad. I had G2 for over a week and I have to say, the battery on G2 blows Note 3 out of the water which bums me out. I mean 7% in 35 minutes is simply unacceptable. Anyone else having similar problems? Should I take it back to the T-Mobile store and ask for a replacement? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

usually when you get a new battery you're supposed to condition it. but anyways, I usually turn off wifi, gps, disable pen detection when in holster
Here is another picture showing 3% drop in battery juice with only 17 minutes of usage. This is freaking embarrassing
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Let the plucking battery cycle a couple of times. I'm sorry but youse sound like a bunch of whinny brats. It takes time for the battery to reach peak performance.

Is that with 17 minutes of screen on time? If so, ur battery is fine. Ur on pave for over 7 hours of screen time.

Yeah these screenshots without on-screen time are useless.
Even 10 minutes of on screen time for 3% is pretty good - that's on track for 5.5 hours of on-screen time.
What u talking about batt is breast since I got my phone I got it 45% out of the box. And it's still running good so far
