I just to qualify I am currently working my way through the AOSP Android page and the XDA university site. What I am looking for is anyones personal insight into what has helped them etc, how they got hooked or not on developing for phones.
For the others:
http://source.android.com/about/index.html
http://xda-university.com/introduction-to-xda-university
I'll try and add what I find as I work through and find other resources.
Kind regards

i would love to see a link for this as well
Develop their own Rom. who can helb me
I was looking for a rest for my forum, but could not find until now
You could try dsixda's Android Kitchen there is a easy way to build stock based ROM like removing stuff adding them etc. I used to build sometimes it's really easy. But not for someone who wants to build ROM from scratch like AOSP. They have to setup Kitchen manually there are lot of tutorials out there just search.

freeze/remove bloatware and network unlock SGY
Two apps I stumbled on in the play market that really floored me:
Root App Delete - Free app that lets you freeze, and subsequently delete if you want to, system installed/pre-installed apps
Galaxy Toolkit - Free app that lets you perform network unlocking on your rooted SGY
Of course, your phone needs to be rooted first. Hope this helps! :good:

Hi,
I installed a 4.3 samsung based android on my note 2, but it keeps giving an annoying security message everytime.
My android is in another language than english, so I'll try to translate the message:
Security Information
Camera (or any other app) tried to access your device system without permission. This attempt was blocked.
What should I do to stop blocking everything?
Thank you.
He dude
In short: wrong section :banghead:

You didn't correctly read the thread where you got the ROM from, did you? Go back and read it properly, then bang your head on the desk for jumping without looking.

I'd say start here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/g-play
Read read read, take 5, then read some more. Then do!
Many guides likely in the guides section, and if you have questions, there's a section for those too!
Good luck! :good:

So, on these forums, people are doing voluntary/non-profit work to post their findings and write tutorials to help others. That's ok, it's their choice.
This forum came equipped with a search engine that helps you find information based on what you want. It's great, thank the webmaster for that.
If this forum doesn't have the information that you are looking for you can request it in a nice way, well written, etc. That again, is okay and acceptable.
YOU! You, skipping all those steps and making a brand new thread... just because you can, filling this board up with junk... not even trying to use search or just browse page by page the specific sections... Are simply scum... You think people here should write a tutorial just for you to understand, losing their time for free?
How are mods keeping these threads up? No, really... is it that mods need to respond only to tickets and reports?
Theo said it correctly, I will say it simply .......Search......... really search, then if what you are asking you find no existing threads of help (which is a 1% chance) Then ask, not before
Thread is going nowhere, as such, this THREAD IS CLOSED
