freeze/remove bloatware and network unlock SGY
Two apps I stumbled on in the play market that really floored me:
Root App Delete - Free app that lets you freeze, and subsequently delete if you want to, system installed/pre-installed apps
Galaxy Toolkit - Free app that lets you perform network unlocking on your rooted SGY
Of course, your phone needs to be rooted first. Hope this helps! :good:

Dear all,
I just bought myself a Galaxy S. It is locked to Bouygues in France and with Android 2.2.
I am totally new to these devices and i would like to unlock it and also to get Android 2.3 on it.
How should i start? (first unlock, then update the ROM, or get a ROM from xda - I used to do that with a Qtek...)
Please advise.
Thanks
Welcome to the SGS forums, I would recommend you read the stickies at the top of this forum first.
If you look in the Apps section I think there is an app that will let you unlock for free (think it's on the android market too).
May I also say welcome, but would also like to point out that this question should be in q & &, please read the forum rules and FAQ's then you will be better equipped to proceed, I hope all goes well
Insanity cm 012/glitch
Thanks
Welcome? I am on this forum for years now !!!
Thanks guys.
.....and never read the rules?!

Its very sad to see that a lot of roms (like 3 or 4) that were realy good roms(thanks to their devs) , now beeing discountinued or non upadated when currently the same roms are updated regularly in the Galaxy S+ section ! also the some of the devs don't say why ? although some say that they are busy , how can they update the sgs+ roms ?
i didn't write this to be mean or something ! just to bring the attention of the much thanked developers to be back on our section !
Thanks anyways for your efforts !

I closed this thread.
It is very unpolite to question the reasons why other people decide to not update their work. They will have their good reasons for that and are not obliged to explain their motifs.
So, if you feel like having a rom always updated to your taste, just sit down and make your own.

Hi Guys,
First post here, been doing alot of reading on these great forums with regards to Rooting and custom ROMs.
Rooted and Flashed my first custom ROM today, UK Spec One X now with ClockworkMod and Cyanogenmod10 all working great.
Just a Thank you really to everybody on here who has taken the time to develop and document these mods, esp to Hasoon2000 for his All-In-One Toolkit V2.1 - Awesome bit of Kit mate
Cheers,
Rich.
That's so unnecessary that you are posting such a thread -_- ....if you want to thank the dev's or so then go to their thread an click on thanks...and then post thanks for the great things to make such things possible or so ...but it's really unnecessary that you are posting such a thread...i can laugh about such threads/people

This thread is as Off-Topic as it gets. The only excuse is the fact that you are new to this site. This excuse only is valid once .

I just to qualify I am currently working my way through the AOSP Android page and the XDA university site. What I am looking for is anyones personal insight into what has helped them etc, how they got hooked or not on developing for phones.
For the others:
http://source.android.com/about/index.html
http://xda-university.com/introduction-to-xda-university
I'll try and add what I find as I work through and find other resources.
Kind regards

I'd say start here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/g-play
Read read read, take 5, then read some more. Then do!
Many guides likely in the guides section, and if you have questions, there's a section for those too!
Good luck! :good:
