[Q] Stable ROMS?(NOT BEST ROMS!) - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hey guys, recently ive doing a lot of search on "the best rom" and crap like that. But ive come to the realization that "the best rom" is non-existent. So im just wondering if someone can post a list of all stable JB (4.1.2+) ROMS please. I want the ROMS to be stable, not a nightly or exp build that can be considered stable.
Thanks to everyone in advance!:good:
BTW, if you think a ROM on the list you post is "the best" then by all means, share your opinion, im sure someone people will agree and some will disagree but sharing your opinion isnt a crime
Thanks once again guys!:good::fingers-crossed:

this is no different, then those '"crap" threads. This is just an opinion cause your idea of stable is different then mine. Make the OP more clear with what you are looking for, if anything. The best answer is TRY THEM OUT lol.

I see where your coming from. What i meant by stable ROM, is like if i were to download CM10 (which is what im currently running) beside the download is a label telling people that it is the stable version of that ROM. the only reason im asking for a list of stable ROMS is because i pretty much only know the bigger ones such as CM, AOKP, PA and Liquid Smooth. I know theres a whole lot more stable ROMS out there, thats why im asking the xda community, because im sure people on here are running amazing ROMS that deserve recognition.

you just listed those that are available as 4.1.2 and above, no others beside carbon and Sons of Android and rootbox are available pretty much... I have the popular roms in my resource guide, try them and see which you like. Pretty much all there is to it.

Don't you have a thread like this already

Best rom/ kernel setup

Upgrading my girlfriends evo tonight with latest and greatest. She was currently running cm7. I want a latest updated ROM, however the video recorder and MMS need to work. I see the the ffc and 4g is common not working which is OK.
Can someone also please suggest a kernel to match up with this. I prefer aosp but willing to try a modified sense 3.0+ ROM.
Thanks for the help! I have a toro nexus and do not view the evo fourm much!

So I guess question is very subjective, guess I'm looking for most stable with least amount of things broken...
I see that some ROMs are jb based but have issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Wow, do these threads REALLY need to be created.... and locked.... on a daily basis?

Hmmm, so instead of using your time to give me a suggestion, u have to troll the thread instead. Thunbs up to u buddy.
Let me clarify. I know where to find the ROMs, kernels, themes etc. I know there are many choices when it comes to roms (aosp, sense, miui etc). I am not looking for some to hold my hand and explain to me the differences, because truth is that I probably have tried many if not all of them on my nexus. However the situation I am in is that my girl friends evos is outdated running a stable version of cm7 and timemat kernel and is starting to act up. I was thinking of just reflashing cm7 with a fresh start, however gingerbread is very outdated.
So because this is not my phone, I do not have the time to test ROM/kernel combos like I do on my nexus. That is why I am simply asking for suggestions from my fellow xda members.
I am looking for a aosp jelly bean ROM (if not ICS). I need this ROM to be stable (FFC and 4g borked not a big deal) but must have MMS and video recording. From what I can tell, these are the most common issues.
So please give me some suggestions of something I can flash on her phone without biting off my head. I would greatly appreciate it.
I was also curious about theatest and greatest kernel since timat is way outdated, however I will save that for a further question because trollers get mad.
Posts like this are against the "rules" because it could cause issues between devs or members trying to say who is better or what not.
Your best bet is to use search or go read op's of the 10 or so ICS roms.
SFM Blazin Fast Reloaded OG Evo.

I would suggest that you try them and make up your own mind on what you consider stable and usable. Everyone has their own opinions.
I would also suggest that you read the rules and realize that these threads are not allowed based on the reasons made above.

[Q] Best JB rom for new guy

Quick question, I'm overwhelmed by the amount of roms available. As much as I'd like to blindly try [xXx]l4Zer(actuallyAthEme]asdf[1.2.3.4.5]BEST ALPHA{{{EVAR}}} v.001, I'd love some advice. Best/favorite stable JB rom close to stock google. Thanks
Theirs plenty of jb roms out here. Almost all of them are stable just look in the dev section.....

Thanks for the "help" guys. It takes less time to not be a smartass and say "i liked the new miui! but xyz is popular".
Frosty Jellybean is an excellent "stock"-ish rom, but it has been discontinued but is still very stable.
Right now I'm on Darthstalker v8 and it's very smooth and close to stock. I've also used Wicked and Domination and they're excellent roms as well.
For your needs, a rom that is as stock as possible, I'd recommend Frosty Jellybean and Darthstalker (Frosty Jellybean is as stock as a rom can get and is very stable, but as I said before, development is discontinued.)
If you do go with Darthstalker, I'd recommend flashing the "STOCK UVDLJA FONT" and "REVERT CLOCK TO RIGHT" mods that are in the first post in the thread. I've yet to test battery life, but so far it's very snappy.
Thanks GenericAsianGuy, Darthstalker looks good. Definitely gonna need that font switch tho.
I personally prefer AeonFluxx, but everyone's tastes are different. Ask 100 different people, and you will get 101 different answers.
Doesn't take much time to look through the development sections yourself and choose your own favorite either..

I agree, look at the mods for each rom, and see the last 10 posts, if you do that you will limit what is wrong, and what people think of the rom. I did this a bout 3 weeks ago planning on making a template of the roms that are available for our phone, with a bio on each of the roms... I asked if people would like me and some others to do this and got little response, so I didn't think it was worth it.
My favorite JB rom is domination. Works 100% out of the box, no extra mods or anything you need to flash, fast and good battery life.
Thetenthdr, you're totally right about the opinions thing. I'll be checking out those other ones too. It'll take a while to get the jargon down, much less all the different features/pros-cons so I really appreciate getting some opinions so I can jump right in without a PHD.
I thought questions like this weren't allowed, why is this still open

elflip88, just to make you sad. mt3g, that's a great idea! The Vibrant had a great rom bible, don't quite see anything like that here (but maybe I just missed it)
Root66 is perfect for you.
Flip is correct. These threads are frowned upon because they almost always turn into a pissing match.
Mt3g's plan is what I usually tell new users. Browse the Dev section and pick a few you like and read their OPs. Then read the last 10 pages (not posts) or so to find out about some bugs/questions. Pick one you like and start reading.
Btw, many of us came from the Vibrant and yes you are correct, there was a fantastic "bible" over there. Would love to see one like it over here.

CM10.1 Stable?

Hey guys, im currently running CM10 (stable build). I was just wondering if anyone knows when the official stable build of CM10.1 will be released?? I know plenty of people run the nightlies and find those fairly stable, but i would like final, stable build of it. So if anyone could maybe speculate when it might be out, thank would be great! Also, if anyone could recommend a finished and officially stable build of any other 4.2+ ROM(s) that would be awesome as well.
Thanks a ton guys!:good:
Stop posting the same thread over again...you just made a similar post about 4.1.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187790) with in 30 minute of each other....what mt3g told you in there is no different from what you will be told in here.
stability is matter of personal opinion and the device in your hand...
do what the rest of us did..look in the BIBLE thread to find ALL the links to ALL of the different forms of roms and TRY them out like what the rest of us did. this will allow you to find whats best for you....do not put yourself in situations where you are easily flamed. I mean it can't be easier than that, all the links are in one thread...best guide for lazy people and those who do not want to do any research

Congrats for your new phone.
There are a lot of rooting guides available. Just look at the stickies.
As for ROMs, there are a lot of ROMs to start with.
You want AOSP or Sense?
ViperX is the best Sense ROM.
SlimBean is the best AOSP ROM.
You may try out both.

Hey thanks for answering!
I dont really know what i want right now But i will try both I also found the "rooting tool" so i guess i will be using that one
Also i just read in some forum that i should update something before i root it? Do you know anything about it, because i lost the site Thanks again mate!
There is no "best" rom. Viper X is not the best rom, its the most customizable rom.....yes.
The best rom is the rom that fits you and your needs the most.
Athulele, it's inappropriate to take two ROMs you like and call them the best of all. It's false information.
@OP
It is purely based on opinion and you should definitely develop your own taste of software and not simply flash stuff that people tell you to.
@Hofs I'm just sayin', that AOKP is equally (if not even more) customizable to ViperX
Sorry for groaning

ROM Comparison threads are unfortunately not allowed on XDA. A lot of people have different ideas of what is best and unfortunately sharing their ideas and opinions frequently leads to trolling, flaming and more.
My personal recommendation would be to visit some of the ROM threads in the Development section. Read the OP. Preview the screenshots. Skim through some of the user comments and complaints. Find one you're interested in and give it a shot. If you like it keep it, if you don't move on and try another.
With that being said this thread is now closed.

Ligux and Ignorance Rom differences

I have the Ligux Rom in my One and it's great, but I am curious about the Ignorance V5 Rom because I miss some stuff from HTC Sense.
I would like to know the differences between both (pros and cons) for those who have tried them and see if it's worth to try Ignorance Rom. Maybe some comments will make me change my mind.
No "Best ROM" threads please.
It is too subjective to have any actually useful replies.
Just look at the ones you think look good in the dev forums and try them out till you find a good one.
Thanks.
(and yes, a ROM comparison thread it essentially the same thing).
