I've been having issues with certain apps uninstalling at raandom. The main one is the xda app. The icon still shows on my home page but when I go to open it says app not installed. This has happened about 3 times and its always the same apps. Any ideas on what would cause this?

Its not uninstalled,it happens when you mount the phone as mass storage.just unmount and re-mount the sdcard.or reboot.
This happens only on sense ROMs,not on stock though.
Again, its my observation, not happened ever on PA or CM10...
I'm running stock Rom atm been looking for a decent Rom to load. But I can go in the play store and install it

I'm running CM7 and all my apps are only listed as free and purchased. They all work fine and are in app drawer but im not getting update notifications because the market thinks they are not installed. I have went to settings>manage apps>market and the only option is to uninstall updates, cache and data are greyed out.
I have tried downloading them again and they will download and install then show as installed but within a few hours revert back to saying free or purchased. Anybody else have this happen or know of a fix?

Sounds like an auto restore problem...... try uninstalling all of them and then reinstall..... plus go into privacy and turn of the back up my data with Google option and see if that works

Tried that and still no luck. Gonna try wiping and reflashing.

Is it a gingerbread problem with market not downloading apps correctly sometimes? It goes to 100% but doesn't install, its kinda annoying to always clear caches and data. I would love to download something on the spot when I need it, you know?

Verify the download as the latest, download, and re-flash again.
Not sure about Chrometophone though.
MarketEnabler
If you don't feel like reflashing,
you can install apps restricted to certain zones (such as Chrome to phone) via the market using MarketEnabler
Reflashing doesnt work ,i.installed marketenabler from market but i dont know how to use it,now what i have to do.now?
Thanks alot.

Fire it up, go to the "Settings list", long press on one of the listed providers, click "fake this provider now" and then you can install Chrome to phone (and other zone restricted apps) like you would do for any other app via the Market.

All apps show force close ,what to do?

ALL apps force close?
Something seems thoroughly wrong with your install. At this point I'd consider a complete wipe & reinstall of your ROM.

I have tried renaming the marketupdate.apk in system/app but it still updates itself. I have tried freezing said apk with titanium backup and yet it still updates itself. I have a version of the market that I like but installing it everyday is getting old. How can I successfully keep it from updating on its own?? I'm on CM7.1 btw. Thanks.
Did you freeze the market or market updater?

I froze the Market Updater using Titanium Backup.
A quick search found me this

Hope this helps...
Froze that marketupdater and the damn thing still updates. I then deleted marketupdater and it still updated to the new crap market! What the hell?

I hate it. I can search for an app and then try to install it and it just sits there forever. But as soon as I install the older version and search for the same app and install it, the app downloads and installs right away. Sigh.

Yep, multiple times. I have installed the old version a few times now. I must have jacked with the wrong file or something cuz now the new version FCs when I try to download somthing and the old version closes as soon as I click the Market icon. LOL. I need to reinstall my ROM anyway. Fresh start.
It definitely decreased the visibility for my app. In that way I don't like it, but as a user, I got used to it.

So after my facebook app never opened and kept force closing, I did the overkill thing and reinstalled a new ROM.
Now Market worked for one day and now after opening it after 3 seconds it force closes immediately. I cleared cache and data, wiped dalvik cache as well. I don't really want to install a new ROM again just for the sake of one app, so is there any fix for it? Google has led me to no solution.
Also installing from market through my pc is not working as well. I can press install but the phone does not download or install anything.
I'm beginning to get quite irritated or I could be overreacting .
Try downgrade to version 2.3.6
