I had a rooted HTC Evo 4g LTE and installed titanium backup on it as well as backed up my apps. Especially my play store purchased apps (XDA Premium) being one of them. The htc phone took an extended vacation in a million different places and I now have a GN2 which I have yet to root. Unfortunately the google account I had assoiated with said apps was permanently deleted. Is their a way I can still retain/use my paid backups to use on my new device?

Your google/play account would have survived your phone's demise.
If you asked for the account's deletion, you are out of luck. Your purchases were tied to that account.
no idea, but if you show you purchased them, maybe if you call or write Google, they might be able to help.
I had sum serious problems. Ill just leave it at that. I do thank both of you for your input. Thank you very much!

I think it may be hit and miss and individual apps. It's going to depend if they have to check with Google for verification. Some may have old linked the app servers.

They'll work as long as you don't restore the market links in TiBu but you'll never be able to update them unless you reactivate the account they were on.

Thats what I figured. Too bad cause most of em need to be updated to work with the new os. Im talking with google right niw and told them the reason my account was deleted and that those apps were on a different make model of phone. I believe they are being understanding and sympathetic towards my situation. They are waiting for their billing department to get back to them and said more than likely Ill get a refund on my purchasesd apps depending on how long ago they were purchased. Whish me luck! Also thanks guys for yalls input

If they don't refund them they'll probably temporarily reactivate your old account and help you transfer the account info/purchases to the new account. Basically they'll just change you old account name to the new account name so all of you old info will be attached to the new username. It's a bit of a hassle and takes a while to do, changing reps between phone and online tech support a few times and having to keeo answering your security questions over and over, but if you have a small fortune in paid apps its worth it in the end.

If you're using a 3rd party launcher like nova/apex etc theres an option in the lauchers settings to backup your desktop configuration. If you're using twiz launcher you'll need to search the market for a desktop backup/restore app. Just type in play store search "desktop backup" amd choose the highest rated free app.

If your rooted and all that good stuff you should know how easy it is to just go into recovery and wipe everything. Sorry to say the driver has a new toy. He can't see your stuff tho if that's what you care about. And your pics are exposed as well since they are most likely on your sdcard.

If you have LookOut security
If you have installed something like lookout security/virus scan on the device (even the free version), you can locate the device and see it on a GPS map from their website sign in page. Also, you can set an alarm (annoying sound) to go off on the phone; nice feature...lets the person know you can tract the phone.
I'm sure (as other's have mentioned) there are other apps that do the same thing...maybe you had a Google Latitude account and you had it set up?? that would work also.
Good Luck, sorry to hear what happened to you...it sucks, I know how you feel!

Which takes away a basic core service that's been around before ISO even existed. Remember desktop search from Windows 95?
I COMPLETELY DEPEND on the global search mechanism on the Google widget because i keep everything sorted using keywords. I have over a thousand contacts separated by keywords, linked together with emails and pics (im in the building trade industry).

Dude is a troll plain and simple. His replies betray his genuineness .
meanwhile, trolls aside, I really don't understand how Apple won the injunction with the overwhelming prior art of Google Desktop Search [released Oct 2004] and (I really dislike using this as an example of anything, but it applies) BonziBUDDY [released 1999].
to lesser extents, we have:
ISYS
- prototyped as "Homer" in 1987
- released in 1988
---- was actually a tool to search documents and databases on a private network, searched locally as well
Copernic Search
- released in 1996
---- web multi-search tool, local search functions added well before iPhone (I don't remember when though)
Microsoft Actors/Agents
- released originally as MS Bob in Mar 1995
Windows Desktop Search
- as of v4, included with WinVista, RTM Nov, 2006

I just updated the Starbucks app, and now they have a widget. I LOVE WIDGETS. The iphone doesn't have widgets. So it would be crazy for me to wanna buy an iphone. Just a little angry, that's all. See, i still want to get ME my SGSIII the pebble while my wife has the white.

It's most-likely from the Device Hostname. I'm not sure if you can do this on every ROM, but in LiquidSmooth, you can change the hostname in Settings --> Developer Options --> Device Hostname. You could also use Titanium Backup to create a new one. From the TiB home screen, press the menu button and scroll down to "Manage Android ID."
The only note that I'd want to say is that all games that are server-based (think Tiny Tower, Simpsons Tapped Out, etc.) use the Device Hostname (Android ID) to know which game save to pull.
Hope this works for you!

Go to play store on your computer and log in with the same Gmail you use on your phone and install "plan b" it will remote install to your phone and automatically report the phone's location as soon as it finishes setting up... You can see the text commands to send to your phone and it will report back every 5mins with the gps location of the phone... I did this same thing when someone sole my droid x2 last year and I talked it down 70mi from my home right to their front door and got my phone back... or worked great... Hello,
Since flashing most recent ROM, I have noticed 5 "Google" purchases, for Apps and 1 other unknown Google charge. These apps, etc. are not familiar to me, nor have any relevance to any past purchased apps or recent app searches in Play.
I have reason to believe it's directly related to the ROM, as there is particular identifying information included in the statement.
I'll be doing the obvious, filing a claim, yada yada bullshi*.
Has anyone else had this happen? Not cool.

Hey Epic,
To be honest I've seen surprising things in account data for both Lifeless and CM. I've noticed new card numbers, etc. After flashing. I paid no mind thinking it may have been a devs card number somehow merging with my account, and quickly deleted. However, it may be a Google account hack.
Either way, it may be something to confirm, if this type of information is capable of spreading accidentally in development.

you havent posted your EFS anywhere online have you? If your efs falls into the wrong hands people can "clone your phone" and make purchases... altho those would be carrier purchases and I believe are charged to your monthly bill.
as the charge on your sprint bill... or an entirely separate google invoice?
