Just thought id let u guys know just flashed cm10.1 from shelnut and everything but camera is working..wohoo !! efs is working perfectly ..all i have to say is you guys just wait til this is done honestly an amazing rom and just what this phone needed to be perfect!

I can't believe that CM 10.1 is coming. The last cyanogen mod rom I had was CM9 (LG Optimus S).

It's really smooth. Much faster since there's no added junk like LG UI slowing things down. Battery life is fine, can't really comment on that since I never ran it for more than a day.
There's still a lot of work to do in terms of getting the GPS and camera. There's also some screen shadowing issues. These will take time but the devs are working on it and a doing a fantastic job.

im not the dev i just got it from him and im testing it...the way its looking as soon as they fix the camera this will be ready for release..as of last week there were efs/gps/camera issues and now its only the camera left so progess is deffffffff being made

When did GPS start working? Can you actually use turn by turn navigation? Last time I tested the latest, GPS still wasn't working.

well today i got tired of hearing ppl like epic ***** and moan anytime anyone asked about CM10.1 so i just went to IRC and lucky after asking about when it would be done shelnutt2 was on and asked if i would like to test so i said yes he sent me the dl link and i flashed it both efs and gps are working..i didnt try actual turn by turn but i wen into google maps and typed an address and using my current location it gave me directions so i would imagine yes its working i

I've got it booting now. Just need to do a bit of cleanup to get everything working.

Don't.. it's quite terrible really. I'm not seeing anything special over stock Android. I don't see any of those neat features shown in the screenshots.
So either this dump isn't a real dump of the shipping phone or I'm not looking in the right places.
I've got 3G working and most everything else working, but am having serious gfx issues making the ROM unusable.
I'm not really terribly interested in Meizu M9 but was bored and up for a challenge. If I can't get it working fully tonight, I'll post what I have and someone else can takeover.

No idea, I wasn't impressed months ago when they announced it. Only reason I am doing this is because I figured it would be pretty easy to do. I was partly right.
I'm not sure what is really going on with the gfx.. but there is a new M9 firmware released a few days ago.

There is no all-purpose porting method. Sure some things work on most AOSP roms (kernel, drivers, etc.) but every ROM is different and it really just comes down to experience and troubleshooting skill.
Just wondering, the wait is killing me LOL if only he did an update to inform some progress or maybe there's nothing he can do

Im in your boat, but i thought about it and its like, what would you go to? Downgrade to a GN with no SDcard slot and crappier camera?
Well eventually get ICS, MAYBE CM9, and when ICS is out some roms based on it. I wont spend hundreds just to get ICS a couple months early on crappier hardware.
I may sell it in the summer for a GSIII depending how that looks, but i wont side/downgrade.
Any reason why you guys didn't post this in his screen fix thread directly? He's still responding to questions over there

+1. What's the big deal? Ics won't change your life and you will find annoying quirks along with that as well and with anything about everything in life.
At least touchwiz has neat features like status bar brightness and swipe to call/text.

Going from ICS to touchwiz GB has been, less than exciting. Luckily the hardware is so awesome.
+1. So what's going to happen when you get ics and then announce the next version.? You guys will be in the same boat again obsessing and asking when how to get it and where the devs went. I just can't believe people forked out 500+ dollars for this phone only to ubderplay it because of another phone. If you knew that the nexus was coming out why weren't you patient enough to just put your money on that. I love my gs2. Its getting o

Understandable, (un)fortunately there really isn't a better option unless its the Exynos version or the GNex, and i like the term "side"-grading because that's really all it is. What's bugging you about it? As a result ive succesfully rooted my phone and have even tried out a few custom roms! However I have a question about a ROM im currently using but I cant post in the dev forum yet so I figured ill try here. Im currently using the digital warfare ROM and ive noticed that my powersave feature does not seem to work correctly. It will kick in regardless of the battery percentage I set. So ive just left it off for now. can someone help?

First I want to give you huge props for actually reading and doing all that on your own instead of posting a ton of useless threads with questions that can easily be found! But to answer your question, the My Account app has its own power save feature, try going into that app and adjusting it from there or just disabling it all together. Hope this helps.

Just disable the power saver in the my account app and use the power saver settings built into the phone, that's what I do.

Welcome dude and yea i would just disable this phone is great with battery life anyways. One suggestion tho i would freeze tmobile my account all together in titanium backup or uninstall it tgats if u have it installed it actually messes with wifi. When your on wifi it will turn on 4g signal whenever data is requested which isnt good cuz u think ur using wifi the whole time. Ever since ive disabled tgat app i have not had a problem with wifi or 4g service. I actually think its a way for tmobile to snoop on our data. I made a thread about this and other people have confirmed this app to be the culprit. I actually was gonna take my phone back because i couldnt get wifi to stay connected so thats when i started investigating and found this

I remember someone posting some dialer codes where you can check how much data you have accumulated. I just don't know where I saw it. Post on the q&a to find put.

No im running at stock speeds
It's not unusual for a phone to get warm when running cpu/gpu intensive processes like games. It only becomes a problem when it gets incredibly hot and forces the phone to reboot or the battery gets too hot to touch.

not hot. i just flashed his new rom/kernel combo with a clean wipe and as i was messing around with milocker it did it again. just shut off on me. only way to bring it back is to pull the battery. very strange.
You using a new ROM? I know you said new ROM/kernel combo but that could imply same ROM new,kernel. If youre on the same ROM, check the thread to see if its an issue with it I guess. Could always try a new one and see if that fixes it. Let us know if you find out anything.

I use 3G Watchdog. It's available in the market. Has a nice little widget as well.

Other than a very small handful of new features and optimizations, it probably wouldnt take much to get Jellybean on the Nitro HD. This isnt a huge jump like it was from android 2.1 (eclair) to 2.2 (froyo).
i also hope for jellybean. after watching the I/O and being on 2.3.5 i see a lot of great features i would want.
offtopic, but is google glass just a camera with connectivity or did i miss something? it looked sick when they were skydiving though
Honestly, at the rate that LG is moving, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them skip ICS officially altogether. Kind of like Sony Ericsson did with going from eclair straight to gingerbread. It would make more sense, since they have put the effort into getting ICS close, why not just do the little extra and jump straight into jelly bean?

Yeah battery life on the stock gingerbread is rather sad. CM9 battery life is actually quite good now that im a couple days in.

yea, i sent my phone in and they put V11a on it....i'm actually getting a full day out of it (moderate usage, two short calls, camera app for .5 hour, texting a bit, had GPS on, "smart screen on"...etc) so i think they may have fixed the battery issues on 2.3.5....i'm hopefully going to root and put CM on it tuesday though...

i hope lg will give us ICS (seems like they have), JB (really hopeful on this), and any other firmwares that get released after those two...
it's sad that they have to delay it though...
I'm tryed but we need help with unpack/change and repack CM9 boot.img. If someone can make this work, may be it's boot, now it's not bootable.

AWWWW i did see that but i didnt think nothing of it WOW well i have a ? is any one else rotation jacked up every time i rotate my phone it goes the other way from what i am seeing its fliped?? can someone help me if you know how to fix this please!!!!

He updated M4 early this AM and it fixed that issue but now it looks like the download has been taken down

Yes! I was just about to ask about that! I was trying to figure out how to fix it. No thoughts yet.
Did he put the revised version up on his site this morning and then take it down? Maybe he's rebuilding it to resolve whatever reason they shut down the thread.

damn, I really wanted to review his battery saving tips tips as i am already down to 84% after 2 and a half hours of the lightest use possible
EDIT: never mind, another classic case of a developer comparing apples to oranges. I am not going to name names but if I was to run those settings on the ICS rom I was running, I would get well over 24 hours of battery life. What is the point of having the convenience of Google wallet, if you have to fumble around in the menu turning on and off the NFC every time you use it. What is the point of having a Samsung based JB rom if you are going to turn off almost all of the Samsung baked in goodies (animations, S beam, ect). Might as well run CM 10, have NFC turned on and still have respectable battery life.
Don't get me wrong, he has done great work on this port but its like saying my 800HP small block chevy will get you great gas mileage.....if you bolt on a 2 barrel carb, limit the throttle travel, and under drive the blower.

I flashed M4 this morning and I am not getting 4G...even wireless tethering option is gone....and then his thread...weird...

I agree. Always seemed stupid to me to essentially turn your phone into nothing but a basic touchscreen without the added benefits of what makes the phone great.
To each its own. I for one flash JB TW to have what JB offers and what TW offers. For that CM10 is perfectly fine.
