Hello all,
I currently have the VZW Nexus running stock. I have read the issues that there are with using mtp in Linux. However, I have yet to read a true answer on what fixes it.
Running Ubuntu 12.10

Hey all,
I'm familiar with the process whereby you can run variants of Linux, usually Ubuntu, in a chroot environment then connect to it via VNC. But has anybody tried to port an ARM version over to our device yet? If not, why not? Is it not possible? Arch running on my GN would be a dream.

Find a way to install Gentoo on a phone and I will never stop laughing.

as if Debian ftw!
but yes people are trying to get ubuntu to work on the gnex
Running Backtrack 5 on mine.
I know ubuntu works and works seaminglessly well for the Nexus One through the use of a VNC and some other stuff.
I remember following this guide: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...29tLnpwd2Vic2l0ZXMudWJ1bnR1aW5zdGFsbHBhaWQiXQ..

As I said in the OP, I know you can do it this way. But is it possible to run it directly on the device?

Ah, well, if I'm not completely mistaken, I know the Ubuntu team is developing a standalone operating system for android devices, but I don't know when and if it will be completed.
As of now, though, I doubt there is anything standalone.
They did something like this for the Xoom, I'd love to see it on the Galaxy Nexus.
Do any one have any idea when will Ubuntu mobile os will release for nexus?

Continue here please.
Hello all together!
I wanted to ask if it is just me doing something wrong or is Ubuntu 14.04 broken for the last weeks on the Galaxy Nexus?
If I update to Trusty I get some errors about some dependency problem with unity8 and it does not boot after shutting down. Any ideas? What's the problem with the builds? Is ist possible to fix those?
I'd like to test Ubuntu Touch again next to Firefox OS (I'll buy a FFOS device the next weeks or months) and I don't wanna stick with saucy because I'd like to test and (maybe help a bit) with the newest builds.
It would be nice if someone had an idea.
I've been using trusty since its release and am on build r21 which came out today. Using it as a daily driver on my maguro. Haven't had an issue? Did you try phablet-flash ubuntu-system --channel trusty-proposed

Yes, I tried flashing it with fastboot, but I only get a Google logo. Strange...
Wrong section, please don't post questions in the development threads. This is why we have Q&A sections.

I posted it here because I want to develop something with/for Ubuntu Touch.
But if it's wrong move it.
I have a Nexus 7 lte that I only use wifi on and I want more rom choices. Is it possible to run flo roms? Thank you and Happy New Year!
If this is the wrong form my apologies!
I wouldn't try as it may cause the device to brick :\ sorry

This is my first post ever, so sorry if I get something wrong or miss something.
So I have a Nexus 7 (flo) and was running android 5.1 and I had to reset my tablet daily because it would become so slow and unresponsive.
Anyways, I took the leap and rooted my device and got CyanogenMod and was wondering what else I could do. anything would be appreciated. Thanks.
