When I click on the option to wipe my dalvik cache in Clockworkmod Recovery, this comes up:
E:Can't mount /dev/blcok/mmcblk0p2
(No such file or directory)
I can still wipe my cache though, what is it that I'm missing?
Are you booting into recovery from ROM manager? Just I got the same using Rom manager but not when rebooting the phone into recovery.

Nope, booted into it via the Advance Power Menu mod
its nothing to worry about, its just because there is no ext partition on yourn sd card
Hi guys, I just bought a new SD card and partitioned it for a2sd+ (fat32 + 1gb ext3) using a Windows app which I discovered thru another thread here.
Now when I went to recovery and did a factory wipe & wipe dalvik cache, I got the "E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 (File exists)" error.
I was still able to flash the ROM on the SD card & everything seems to be working just fine so should I be worried about the error & find a fix?

No.

Ok thanks. Hope it doesn't lead to bootloops later like I read from other people's posts.

Hi all, this is my first post, so please be gentle with me.
I'm new to all this rooting and installing a custom ROM, but I've followed the RCMix S V2.0 tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074700) and has this great ROM running on my Desire for a week.
Earlier today, I turned off my phone and now when it reboots it's stuck on the Alpharev splash screen. If I go into recovery to try and re-install the ROM, it says it cannot mount the SD card. I've tried re-partioning the SD card using GParted, but still no luck.
Please tell me it's not completely broken! Any help gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried a different SD card, if you are using a2sd that can be pretty hard on substandard SD cards.
It does sound like the SD card has gone pop try erasing to default.....

Just tried a different SD card, but still have the same problem :-(
On my screen, I have the following:
CWM-AlphaRev Recovert v2.5.1.8
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /sdcard
I've had the same error with two different SD cards.
Also, I forgot to mention on my first post, I cannot talk to the phone through ADB because I can't get USB debugging enabled on the phone because it won't boot up properly.
I'm fearing the worst here, is there any hope?
I've managed to get my Desire up and running again. I got USB access back by following a guide elsewhere on here and that, in turn, allowed me to access the SD card, so I'm back up and running RCMix 2.3.3 Gingersense.
Luckily, I had everything backed up so only a couple of texts from today have been lost.
Phew!!!!
the question is r u still have ur stock rom backup on pc?
Hi all, i've a BIG problem.
Today, before installing ARHD 6.1.1 i've wiped all with SuperWipe and i format internal sd card with SDFormatter.
Now pc see internal sd with all file tranfered but recovery can't mount sdcard with this error:
E: can't mount /sdcard
I can't mount via adb also
so i can't flash rom or switch on my phone!!
Can you help me, please?
flash the new recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
Also did you have enterprise mail on your phone. If so, your phone SD will be encrypted. So you may have to format SD in recovery.
I've last recovery yet and i've trouble formatting sdcard via recovery:
Formatting /sdcard...
Error mounting /sdcard!
skipping format...
Done.

Try to format with pc again and without sdformatter (fat32, 32 klusters). When I format with sdformatter, phone says wrong SD format.

Did you try and format it as fat 32? and 32 k clusters?
Also what happens if you try and flash a stock Ruu onto it, that would probably tell the phone to reformat it.
I've formatted by PC in Recovery 5.8.4.0 after USB Mounting
The problem persists
I can't install RUU 'cause my HBOOT is 0.94 for 1.28.166.xx
The only RUU on line 166 (VODA CH-DE) is 1.26.166.xx
Hi there,
I was about to flash a new rom on my Dinc, and right after I formatted /system, the sdcard became unable to mount and now I can't access the .zip for the new rom. I've tried flashing 3 versions of CWM as well as one of TWRP but none of them can access my SD card. I also reformatted it in my PC with no success. I currently don't have any operating system on it so all I can work with is hboot and recovery.
Can anyone help me fix this?

Did you format it fat32 with the pc? If the cards fine (can be used by pc and fat32) and recovery and hboot still cant find it, then id venture to say the sdcard slot is damaged or went out.
Using adb in recovery, you should be able to push a rom file to emmc and flash it from there.

I did format it FAT32, and the SD card is definitely fine. I don't think that the slot is the problem either because other things won't mount either.
Actually the only thing I can mount in recovery is /system, everything else is inaccessible. It was having mounting problems before which is why I decided to flash it with a new rom (was running Jellybean very poorly). I also tried flashing the original recovery, doing "clear storage" that way, and reflashing with CWM but it had no effect. During the storage wipe it said that /datadata doesn't even exist. It also shows errors that it can't mount the files /dev/block/mmcblk01 and /dev/blk/mmcblk0p2
This is what the log shows when I did the CLEAR STORAGE using the stock recovery
Restore factory NV setting...
Formatting DATA:...
E: format_root_device: can't find mtd partition "datadata"
Formatting EMMC:...
Formatting CACHE:...
Wipe ALL failed.
E:Can't mount DATADATA:recovery/log
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 (or /dev/block/mmcblk1)
(No such file or directory)
The same thing happened to me long back. What I did was that I cleared data, cache, and dalvik cache... Worked for me... You can try but i wont take any responsibility
