Hi all, i've a BIG problem.
Today, before installing ARHD 6.1.1 i've wiped all with SuperWipe and i format internal sd card with SDFormatter.
Now pc see internal sd with all file tranfered but recovery can't mount sdcard with this error:

I can't mount via adb also
so i can't flash rom or switch on my phone!!
Can you help me, please?

flash the new recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
Also did you have enterprise mail on your phone. If so, your phone SD will be encrypted. So you may have to format SD in recovery.

I've last recovery yet and i've trouble formatting sdcard via recovery:
Formatting /sdcard...
Error mounting /sdcard!
skipping format...
Done.

Try to format with pc again and without sdformatter (fat32, 32 klusters). When I format with sdformatter, phone says wrong SD format.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA

I've formatted with pc also but problem persists.

Did you try and format it as fat 32? and 32 k clusters?
Also what happens if you try and flash a stock Ruu onto it, that would probably tell the phone to reformat it.

I've formatted by PC in Recovery 5.8.4.0 after USB Mounting
The problem persists
I can't install RUU 'cause my HBOOT is 0.94 for 1.28.166.xx
The only RUU on line 166 (VODA CH-DE) is 1.26.166.xx

Sounds like a problem with your sdcard, try formatting and/or repartitioning it.

Seems to be a problem of the SD card. Have you tried it with another one? It could also be that it isn't properly formatted, but as you already tried this it doesn't seem to be the problem. One other possibility is - if you have more than one partition on your SD card - that the one its trying to mount has the wrong filesystem. In the topic title you mentioned mmcblk0p1, so if you now formatted the card using your PC it could be that your PC swapped over the FAT and EXT partitions, meaning that p1 is now EXT and p0 FAT, although it should be the other way round. If you have more than one partition on it, try to remove it and format the whole card in FAT32. You could also try to reflash the recovery image.

But copy all your important data on your sd-card to your pc first.

32gb mount issue solved

Does anyone know if a 32gb sdcard would cause problems with cwm for Arc? The card itself is fine, formatted(a few times) to fat32, and I've tried with and without an ext4 partition for link2sd but anything I try to flash, or if I attempt to manually mount, format or partition via cwm(from dooms v15 kernel) it returns unable to mount. The card is fine, no data loss or corruption.

Works fine here.
Had to format it with the phone once untill cwm could mount it.

Like Flo95 said, try to format the sdcard again.
I'm also using a 32 GB and it works fine.
Strange. I've got no issues with the card i.e. when I switch off and try anything with cwm I get a message that says 'Error mounting /sdcard' , 'Can't mount /sdcard' or 'Can't mount backup path' but I still have all the data on the sd when I swich the phone on, there's no corruption or anything particularly unusual.
Take a backup of your sdcard and try to format it in CWM directly.
Can't do anything via cwm, just says unable to mount. Weirdly, the sd card now launches with pc companion/windows instantly, but the partition tool can't detect it...
Solved, re-formatted while in mass storage, partitioned via cwm. Thanks to all...

SOLVED:can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0(or/dev/block/mmcblk0p1)(Invalid Argument)

SOLVED :
For Guys who have issues with SD Cards (Formatting,Mounting,Errors,Corruption or even Death of Card) :A full format (uncheck quick format) running HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool is recommended.
Moreover, never ever use SD card Adapters for formatting. Always use USB card readers as they are more efficient.Generic operating system formatters don’t provide the optimum performance. And,sometimes, can result into SD card death and less picture-saving space.Full format once in awhile is recommended to prevent possible corrupt files, lengthen the life of the card and achieve the most available space possible.
This tool is compatible with Windows XP and vista however Windows 7 users can run this tool in Compatibility mode for Windows 7 by going through :

I have no clue why and I can't find anything about it on any thread.
My card is 8GB(class 6).
Reformatting didn't work.(Formatted using Windows and MiniTool Partition Wizard)
Deletion of the partition and Reformatting didn't work either.
Different SDcard (2GB) gives the same Error.
I have flashed diff Recoveries via FASTBOOT.
Recoveries I have tried :
v2.5.0.1
v4.0.1.4
Any clue ?Thanks

I've also had almost the same issue while back.I kept getting E:Can't mount /sdcard error.
I formatted my sd card using HP usb disk storage format tool and it worked.I had a 512mb ext partition on 8gb class 4 sd card.
It didnt work for first few times but when I did a full format(unchecked quick format) it started working again.

I want to flash CM 7.2(Stable).I don't think the ROM is corrupted.
I Re-rooted my device after reverting back to stock and S-ON.I don't have any custom mtds or ext partition. It's a clean install.Actually, yesterday it was flashed successfully but I wiped everything again to sort out some issues with manual partititon of SDcard.
After connecting my device via adb shell and executing
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0

it was displaying
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0
/sbin/sh: parted: not found

Initially i thought it was a recovery issue or something like that but even after flashing diff recoveries it was giving the same error.I wiped the ROM and now i want to flash it again to check if it works.
No idea!
Wow!Formatting the SD Card using that tool fixed the issue.
Thanks Man!
Thanks guys, saved me a lot of trouble.
Confirmed to work on HTC Desire too.

[Q] Can't mount SD card in recovery to flash a new rom, help!

Hi there,
I was about to flash a new rom on my Dinc, and right after I formatted /system, the sdcard became unable to mount and now I can't access the .zip for the new rom. I've tried flashing 3 versions of CWM as well as one of TWRP but none of them can access my SD card. I also reformatted it in my PC with no success. I currently don't have any operating system on it so all I can work with is hboot and recovery.
Can anyone help me fix this?

Did you format it fat32 with the pc? If the cards fine (can be used by pc and fat32) and recovery and hboot still cant find it, then id venture to say the sdcard slot is damaged or went out.
Using adb in recovery, you should be able to push a rom file to emmc and flash it from there.

I did format it FAT32, and the SD card is definitely fine. I don't think that the slot is the problem either because other things won't mount either.
Actually the only thing I can mount in recovery is /system, everything else is inaccessible. It was having mounting problems before which is why I decided to flash it with a new rom (was running Jellybean very poorly). I also tried flashing the original recovery, doing "clear storage" that way, and reflashing with CWM but it had no effect. During the storage wipe it said that /datadata doesn't even exist. It also shows errors that it can't mount the files /dev/block/mmcblk01 and /dev/blk/mmcblk0p2
This is what the log shows when I did the CLEAR STORAGE using the stock recovery
Restore factory NV setting...
Formatting DATA:...
E: format_root_device: can't find mtd partition "datadata"
Formatting EMMC:...
Formatting CACHE:...
Wipe ALL failed.
E:Can't mount DATADATA:recovery/log
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 (or /dev/block/mmcblk1)
(No such file or directory)
The same thing happened to me long back. What I did was that I cleared data, cache, and dalvik cache... Worked for me... You can try but i wont take any responsibility

[Q] HOX - SDCard Can't be mounted issue again.

Hi guys, I was trying to partitionate my sdcard to get a bigger /data space.
After a try, I decided to get me Sdcard back to previous state...
0.mounted usb to my pc.
1. formatted in fat32 format, as primary type with "minitool partition wizard ..."
3. umount and restart the phone, surprised my partition cannot be mounted yet and it's not recognized on my system.
So... Here comes the dispair... I erased all my phone stuff, format and delete all sort of things but /sdcard cannot be mounted...
After that I'm charging the phone right now on recovery mode, later I'm gonna try to install Ruu but I don't have the latest, only the previous... Is that any problem??
Tks guys!!
