What/Where is the autofocus sound? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm trying to mute the camera basically. Ive renamed all the .ogg files that pertain to the camera. The only sound left is when you tap the screen to auto focus. I've listened to all the sound files in /system/media/audio/ui and nothing matches the autofocus sound. Even searched the whole phone for any other .ogg files and have come up empty. Anybody got an idea?

It is compiled into the APK file. Decompile and fix it or find one that is done. Or modiffy the features xml file and put the menu back and disable it theree. Both choices work.

It's in /system/media/audio/ui> auto_focus.ogg
I like to break stuff!

I've renamed that one and just in case cleared cache and dalvik cache. Still get the sound. I'll decompile the Adon and see if I can find it. Does the apk need to be signed or anything after being compiled?

Downloaded apps file??

Can't find downloaded apps file in astro. I've read that they should be in /data but nothing in there. I also tried searching in astro and nothing comes up. I am looking to change exdialer icon to stock.

Yes, they are located in /data/media or just /sdcard. Look at this thread and read through the posts to see if this is your situation.
If you're looking for the APK files they are stored in either /system/app or /data/app
No where to be found. Some apps are but most aren't.

You're not looking in the data folder on your virtual SD card are you?
Navigate to system/data/app
Not sure what icon Astro uses for "system" but it's likely a phone icon.

ASTRO doesn't have root capabilities, so I don't think it will work. Try root explorer or an alternative.

How to stop gallery from showing EVERY picture it finds.

Tiresome sifting through pages upon pages of pictures from apps and such to find my personal media. Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Should be able to move the pics to a new folder titled ".nomedia"
Shouldn't scan that folder.
actually, I think all you need to do is create a file called .nomedia and place it into the folders you don't want the media scanner to scan.
Works great to keep the gallery from adding all of the images that Touchdown (my corporate email program) caches on the phone.
Is there a method to include folders rather than exclude -because I have way too many files from wherever that I would have to exclude with that method. Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Bump. What does "bump" mean? Does it mean 'no one is looking at my thread, hey you, will you look at my thread? Either way, hey you... kidding, but please, does anyone know of a way to choose folders for the gallery rather than choose to exclude which as I mentioned would be way to cumbersome? Thanks

Put your pics you want private in a desperate folder. Rename the folder to anything with a period in the beginning and voila!

Hiding private media isn't the issue.

If you don't mind a 3rd party solution, get QuickPic. I seriously haven't used my stock gallery in over a year. It has the option to exclude certain folders ( and thus scan the rest of the SD card ), or include folders instead ( only scans the folders you choose ).

You could also make a text file and rename it to .nomedia no name with that file extension and it will not show up, which is what quickpic does for you.

thanks. that's the solution.
edit: actually no, gallery still finds private media and now the folder just renamed with a dot in front has now disappeared.
edit: actually, there is a setting in astro to display such files, BUT then now the gallery app will display contents of private but visible folder so...

[Q] how to install DSP on stock ROM

I am trying to get (cm's) DSP manager installed on a my stock/rooted ROM. I have extracted the DSP manager apk from a CM ROM and placed it in /system/app and have changed the permissions and ownership accordingly, then rebooted and changed the sound effects setting to DSP.
My question is, do I need to copy over any libs or anything else? Such as /system/lib/soundfx
Or does things need to be baked into the ROM?
Thanks in advance.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
There's lib files that go with that. I don't know which ones but you would need those files.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I copied the files over from /system/lib/soundfx and it still does not seem to be working. I think I am missing something else.

Is there a way to set Apollo as the default media player? I read that only the default media player can use the DSP manager. Is that the case?

Folder with contents that won't delete

Hey all. I've been busting my brain, downloading different file managers, playing with permissions and whatnot trying to delete a couple folders left over from Skynote Rom.There's a folder named "Z" on my internal storage that won't go away. That folder houses the sky note wallpapers and an LMT pie launcher apk. Its in two spots on my internal storage and neither will delete. Though it doesn't take up much memory, its annoying to see 3 skynote wallpaper galleries in my photo gallery every time.
Is there a way to delete these items through some file manager I've yet to try or maybe even through recovery mode? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

One other screenshot to show in gallery. This was taken after I already deleted two other skynote walls galleries.

Does this folder appear in data/media? Try deleting from that location.

Delete it using TWRP. Had that same folder and couldn't get it removed. Until I deleted it from the TWRP recovery..

In your CM explorer app...open settings and enable root mode.
then dump the files you want gone..
Be careful in there....the CM file manager will allow deletion of "any" file within the OS, while root mode is enabled....g

[Q] SHealth Keeps Creating an Image in the Gallery

I tried searching but I couldn't find anything that was helpful. I've tried hiding the image, but it just creates another one. I'm sick of seeing it and I'm tired of constantly deleting it. How do I get rid of it permanently???
That drives me crazy too! Hopefully someone has the answer to this!!
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Use a file manager to create a new file called .nomedia in the folder. After a reboot it'll be gone from the gallery
