Can I flash the roms from the compatible section in goomanager? That's probably a dumb question but I was curious

You would need the ROM dev to have marked his files correctly.
There were a few more but as you can see by the screenshots..most of em have ace or dhd? I didn't want to risk messing up my i4g by flashing roms I have found in the browse compatible roms in goo manager. Download GM and see what I mean

Er, I'm probably not going to download the app just to see what you're talking about... If you see the dev around XDA's Development section it's probably an Ace ROM.
I'd say go for it. Just flash the InspireMod to be sure. Never really used GooIm before, mainly ROM Manager

I have been running through rubbish sense based ROMs that are easily flashable in clockworkMod recovery v5.0.2.0 , and i need to get cm7 ,right.. (excuse my n00b-ness) But how do i go about getting that , and then how do i go about installing the aosp ROMs? Also, nightlie, (checking to see if i researched correctly) They are basically over the air updates ect, ect.? Correct or am i missing something completely ? Help a n00b out. You'll get your thanks obviously =]
Cm7 is an aosp ROM all to itself. You don't need to run this ROM if you don't want to. But, a lot of people love cm7.
There are several aosp roms that are also very good. Liquid, miui, omfgb... To name a few.
Nightlies are roms that are built by a computer program. This process is used to develop a stable ROM. For the most part, nightlies are buggy and don't always completely work. As a noob, these might frustrate you. I would stick to a stable version. Just my opinion, try them if you want to.
Aosp roms are flashed in the same manner as a sense based ROM. Through recovery. It is important to wipe cache, dalvik cache, and do a factory data reset when you interchange between sense and aosp roms.
I hope I have answered some of your questions. XDA is an excellent place to expand your knowledge. Your noobness will wear off soon...

Here is a link to the stable cm7 ROM. You will need to download the ROM itself, and the Google apps (gapps) .zip files.
Do a full wipe, flash the rom, then flash the gapps file. This can be done in the same recovery session, no need to reboot first. But... Flash the ROM first, gapps second.
Also, check the stickies in the general section. There are several guides that fellow members have writen to help people who are new to all of this. I have found them quite helpful.

Admin Please Delete the thread.
Sorry if I'm posting in wrong section.
Today I successfully installed Leaked OTA ICS update IMM26 on my NS4G. It's great but to my disappointment Flash based apps are not working properly. Some Flash based apps are working fine (e.g. Veetle) but many others, especially browsers, are not handling it well at all. The reason perhaps is that many apps haven't yet been optimized for ICS. I'm addicted to all these apps.
Please tell me if there is a way to downgrade to Stock Gingerbread.
NOTE: I have unlocked bootloader but unsuccessful in getting root because SU works up to 4.0.3 only.
Thanks everyone.

This belongs in questions and answers.
But there's a one click (not really one) restore to stock in this forum. I believe its using Odin.
Just look thru the threads and you'll find the instructions.

not sure why you thought this was development...
But yes you can... Just wipe (everything) then install a gb rom. That is if you just did a cwm install of ics.

Hello,
I hate to be the noob. I'm coming from the Skyrocket forum where there's a nice stickie with links to all the Root, CWM, and all the available roms & mods.
The Epic 4G forum has a lot of posts and threads and all I have rift now is my phone to browse which makes it harder to search but all I really need are links to the download mode op, the proper CWM version, and a stock, debloated 2.3.6 ROM threads.
I'm trying to help my girlfriend who has the 4G and its running like ****. I won't need any help actually gaining root and flashing given my learned experience with the Skyrocket.
Again, I apologize for being the noob and I'm hoping I wont get flamed too hard. Thanks for your time, your forum, the hard work you do for the 4G and hopefully, your brief effort.

Umm... how? I don't think it's possible. Apparently you know a way but don't want to share? Also, iv wouldn't count on EVER getting good speeds in your basement. The bands TMo uses aren't meant for it.
I don't think you can
Of course you can flash radios. Why wouldn't you be able to?
Assuming, of course, you know what you're doing..
As long as you have a T999 model, you can flash any of the radios released in the dev section. Any radio on any rom. some work better than others but everyone has a different best one. Its up to you to test them all for yourself.

ddont know if this applies... but i used to flash radios, through my galaxy S (first generation), usually through odin, or a zip file and cwm... not sure how it would work for the gs3, but pretty sure itd still apply, if any method is best, probably through cwm as that shouldn't (in theory) affect your flash counter
Correct, though I personally recommend twrp. Just read the ops for any of the many released modems in dev section for more info.
