hi i have the htc one x international. I really really need help. My htc one x was on viper x then i wanted to flash to cm10.1 but i failed. I then realized that i have to update my HBOOT. And so i did. And now it has been relocked. When I tried to boot my phone, my sd card is not available, my phone can't have signal, almost everything is impossible to do. I also cannot go into CWM recovery.
What i can do now is only go to my boot loader by pressing volume down and power button. What should i do?
If you want to be able to get into recovery again try to type in the shell

I did fastboot erase cache through cmd, and when i tried to go to recovery, it showed me a flatphone, a triangle with an exclamation mark
You just need to unlock it again mate thats why it says "relocked" and you cant do nothing with your custom rom / recovery

Hey guys,
I might be wrong here but this is my last hope.
Rooted my One X yesterday, tried to install a .zip so that annoying menu bar would go away.
Didn't word out well, got in a 'bootloop', decided to install the stock RUU, but im getting this ERROR 120 30% massage.. i already tried different stuff but nothing seems to work.
Then things got worse, decided to let it charge for a while, but now i can't even get in recovery mode, it redirects it to fastboot.
Thnx in advance
You will need to relock the bootloader to flash the stock ROM
From fastboot do "fastboot oem lock" then try again. Try flashing from Fastboot and if that doesn't work try bootloader.
Alternatively, flash custom recovery and try flashing over original versions of the whatever files you replaced with your modification.

If you are certain your ruu is for your region and not corrupted then from http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...o-get-error-120-battery-less-than-30-a-2.html
Try this
Running Windows 7:
Make sure battery is over 30% (but that's why we're here, isn't it? It IS over 30%) Turn phone off Take battery out for a minute, then replace the battery DO NOT turn phone back on Plug into USB Hold VOL DOWN button and press the power button for 5 Seconds but don't let go of VOL button Make sure the choice FASTBOOT is highlighted and press the power button to select it You should see FASTBOOTUSB up top Stay on this screen while you go to your computer Exit HTC Sync if it's running, wait a minute, then open HTC Sync again, see if it connects (Mine didn't connect to sync, but I left the window open in the bkgrd) Open the updater and go through the steps. Update should begin without error message.
Hope this works for you guys. I tired countless ways to do it before breaking down and calling in. This way worked the first time for me.

If you relocked you also need to flash boot.img in fastboot from the stock rom you want to use.
Extract the ruu.exe and take the boot.img out, flash it using the adb tools and fastboot.

To extract contents from an RUU, do this.
Run the desired RUU
Go to search and type in '%temp%' (without the quotes)
A folder named 'temp' will appear, open that, and search in it for 'rom.zip'
Open the zip, and extract what u jeed from there.
And hit thanks!

@TheNetherTukkers, extract the boot_signed.img as theDroidfanatic beautiful explains.
Attached I have the adbtools, extract and put the folder on your desktop's c:\ together with boot_signed.img
So you have c:\adbtools\
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
fastboot.exe
boot_signed.img
Now put your device in fastboot mode and connect to your pc.
In start\search on your pc type 'cmd' without the quotes and hit enter.
In the command window that pops up browse to c:\adbtools and type the following:
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img [hit enter]
fastboot erase cache [hit enter]
After this you go into fastboot again and flash the ruu.
got this,
c:\Android>fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img

You must be sure about that because there do exist Vodafone updates.

Hi guys,
I have a rooted one X and want to install he latest update. I tried to relock my bootloader by starting fastboot and then type:
" fastboot oem relock"
Now my phone should be relocked and it does show relocked in pink in the bootloader, but under that stands security warning I don't kno if thats normal or important or something. I rebooted my phone and downloaded the update but when i try to install it i still get into the bootloader.
What am I doing wrong and how do I unlock my bootloader again after the update?
Sascha
You unlock by flashing the unlock_code.bin file again like you first did.
To apply an ota update you also need to reflash the stock recovery

HTC__102
I Relocked the bootloader and got back to stock recovery.. But while updating i have an error.. Phone with red square on him..
Idk what i'm doing wrong. i have status relocked.. Maybe something wrong with stock recovery?
I tried the recovery image attached to this post first time it deleted al my data second time the update succeeded

You can try to following download stock recovery and download the RUU of your phone ( the same version as your latest official update ) then go to fastboot
Type
Fastboot flash recovery "your stock recovery " .img
Hit enter
Fastboot flash OEM lock
This might give an error but when you type it again it wil work
Now put your phone in fastboot again and then start your RUU from your pc if it gives an error just search for another One it will take about 10 min but after your phone will work fine
Hope it helps

Hello,
I have now completely made my PrimoU useless.
For weeks I try to get the CM10 from Lloir working but it never got over the booting screen. So I tried several things, but never came further. Flashing back to my first rom always worked. I tried to unlock bootloader again (thought, maybe it isn't) but it was unlocked. Therefore I tried to lock it to maybe start from scratch.
That was a big mistake, because since then, I am stuck on bootloader. On the top in pink is written "Relocked" "Security warning". No recovery, no starting to the software. I gave it up.
Can anyone help me? I only have a Mac. Is there ANY possibility to just set the whole phone back to Factory form? So no bootloader unlocking, no custom rom, no recovery? I am really thinking about changing it back to this and maybe sell it afterwards. I used HTC Desire for two years with several custom roms and everything. Always could work with it. This device is unfortunately not the same.
But at first I hope anyone can help me to get this back booting with Mac?
Thanks to you all in advance
Moved to Q&A. Please ask all questions there.
Try this ./fastboot-mac flash unlock Unlock_code.bin
You have unlocked it again
You should have it in your email...
Then download the latest boot.img and zip file from cm10 and transfer the Rom zip to your sdcard....
Check development section for cwm recovery 6...download and rename it to recovery.img
Flash it by
./fastboot-mac flash recovery recovery.img
Flash boot.img by renaming it and
./fastboot flash boot boot.img
Go to recovery and flash the cm10 zip file....

Your problem with CM10
The problem was probably you didn't flash the kernel because if you did then you would have to flash a stock kernel to return to your original rom. Just some advice for future reference
Hi guys,
I have searched a bit but havent really found a solid guide.
I just brought my gf a HOX, and I checked it was shipped with Ship S-off, CID11111111111, Hboot 1.12
Now when I looked for guides to install CMW, all the method includes unlocking at HTCdev and fastboot.
Now I understand I can skip the fastboot method with S-off, how do I flash CMW and custom roms? Do I just put in the CMW.zip fie into the sd card partition, go to stock recovery and flash it as update.zip?
My previous phones were the Defy (2ndinit method) and the droid razr (bootstrap), how do I get CMW with an S-off HOX?
Thanks all, dont flame me for not searching, I didnt find any obvious method :silly:
You should be able to flash it directly with fastboot using "fastboot flash recovery NameOfFile" command or you use one of the flash tools.
Edit: After installation of cwm you are able to install custom rom via recovery
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You follow every other guide, just ignoring the bit about HTCDev as you don't need it
Not skip fastboot, just skip unlocking through HTCDev. You just can flash custom recovery via Fastboot, without unlocking youre device.
Edit: Sorry guys I didn't read your above comments.
Wow its that simple? Even if it shows "locked" on the top, I can just ignore that right?
Cool thanks

You have to do it just once and from there on you can flash boot.img files from sdcard, without the computer. And you can up/downgrade your hboot as much as you like. At least I think it works that way.

Try that, didnt work.
But I got it figured out after reading some Chinese websites.
Basically fastboot wont work because it is still locked, but S-off means you can flash any RUU.
So I downloaded a RUU flashing tool, then just put the custom recovery.img into the RUU.zip (with nothing else inside but the android.txt file) and flashed it.
Now I have CMW and I can flash anything without having to fastboot boot.img

So if someone wants to install the JB firmware.zip and have a CID of 11111111, should they change their CID to a compatible one or can they just add 11111111 to the androidinfo.txt and then flash it and it'll ignore the broken signature?
What if they need to flash a boot.img seperately (a repack for example), can they do this using fastboot without unlocking it?

- Bootloader is locked
- Stock Recovery
- su no longer available due to OTA upgrade
Does anyone know how I can once again unlock my bootloader?

3. tried running Sunshine, but it thinks that I'm already rooted and is looking for su.

so, the challenge is: how do I get my unlock bootloader back while on S-OFF without su installed?

s-off > unlocked bootloader. you dont need the bootloader unlocked to flash recovery. If you are s-off you have full control of phone.

I think you're correct on having hboot unlocked. I'm used to engineering hboots from the past. Where it was required to unlock before flashing recovery. With the standard hboot, I guess you need to flash the insecure boot IMG, so you write to system then install su to unlock. Glad you got it working though.
Happy flashing.
