[Q] Which micro card to get? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

The other day, for my AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II, got a ScanDisk ULTRA microSDHC 32GB 30mb/s card that was $69 for $29.99.
However, I'm finding here and elsewhere, they are having problems with that card with the Note II.
So should I take it back and get one of these two cards? Any issues with those?
Sandisk has 30lMB/sec. transfer rate while the PNY only has 10MB/sec. transfer rate. Big difference in speed.
PNY Technologies - 32GB High Speed microSDHC Class 10 Memory Card

OR
Transcend - 32GB microSDHC UHS-I Class 10 Memory Card

PNY Class 10 all the way.
Sent from the Bacon Pope's Galaxy Note 2

Stay away from that card

Bought that same card (Sandisk) at the same price and not worth a damn. I just sent it back to Sandisk! They said there is no compatibility issues with the Note 2 but obviously there is. I've heard reports about the GS3 as well. Piece of crap card! Enough said!

I use Sandisk ultra xdhc Microsd 64gb which I got on sale for $40.
No problems at all

32GB Class 4 micro SD Shell Shocker at NewEgg 6/3 ONLY!

Today between 10am and 1pm PST Newegg will have an ADATA 32GB Class 4 microSD for sale for $49.99 (Normally $64.99).
Try this link.
That is directly from the e-mail I got this morning so it may not work for everyone. If not just go to newegg.com and click on the shell shocker deal.
Before anyone asks: I do not work for Newegg nor ADATA, I just got this in an e-mail and know a lot of people want 32GB cards but don't want slow Class 2.
Also, I have not used this card personally so I can't rate it but there are ratings on Newegg you can read.
Man, just ordered adata 16gb class 6. Sure could have used that space!
I bought a Patriot 32gb, class 4, at Fry's for $69 on Tuesday. Came with a $20 rebate ($49 after rebate). Good buy.
I had issues with my sandisk 32gb, class 2, my evo had some issues recognizing it.
I just bought a sandisk 32g class 10 card and it works great.
Sandisk sux
I bought a 32 gb card and after about 6 months nothing would format it or read it.
I rma'd it back for two 16 gb cards due to them not having 32 gb in stock for a month. And they shipped me one 16 gb card. Now another week for the second card. No more of my money.

Yeah this one, or a lexar class 10 if you want high transfer speeds with your pc.
Or a sandisk class 2 if you dont care about recording movies to your micro sd card.
the sandisk 32gb class 4 will work good with 1080p recording ?
and where i can buy it ?
because on amazon.com i can't find the class....
thanks
When I bought the Samsung WB2000 / TL350 compact camera which recorded 1080p @30fps it required a "Sandisk Extreme"... It apparently has a 20MB/s write speed. No class written on the card though...I think it's class 6 as class 10 is 30MB/s.
I would have thought you'd need a higher class to write HD video...
Note: "Sandisk Extreme" is a SD card not a Micro-sd

There is no class certified for 20MBps or 30MBps.
Class 10 = 10 MBps, thats why is 10.
So class 6 = 6MBps, class 4 = 4MBps, class 2 = 2MBps.
Class is equal to the minimum write speed in random spaces.

No, Class is the minimum write/read speed in sequential. The Lexar Class 10 32GB only does 0.018 MB/s in random write!
any more answer that might help me choose a good card ?
thanks
You need to figure out what you need in terms of speed and size, then how much money you want to spend. A 32GB class 10 card is extremely expensive, where a 16GB class 6 is around a third of that. I plan on using my Galaxy S II for holding all my music and some movies so I ordered this yesterday: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208573. Not too expensive and fast enough for most things.

i want 16gb but don't know which class and brand to take...
my main concern is recording video in 1080p
I have a class 10 Lexar 32GB Card.
You should buy a brand name card (Sandisk, Lexar, Kingston). I say that because there are IN GENERAL more reliable. There will be cards that are made by lesser known brands like Patriot and A-Ram but that does not mean they are any less reliable but more faults are reported for them than with Sandisk, Kingston or Lexar.
Having said that, my previous card was a 16GB Class 6 Patriot card. Worked awesome for a whole year and is still working in my friend's Desire (gave it to him and got the Lexar card for more space). In conclusion, don't buy eBay cards is what I'm trying to say.
Class? That's been debated A LOT. I got a class 10 and I can clearly see the benefit. Media Scanning is less than 10 seconds (mind you, I've got close to 38gb full in both internal and external cards), file copying is very quick and gallery files show up quicker, when I seek in a video file, it moves instantly (even with a 1080p movie).
It just depends on what you require. If you're slightly more patient, you can save 30-40 bucks by getting a 32gb class 2 card instead of a 32gb class 10 card.
Hope that helps. I recommend both Lexar and Patriot. Go for class 6 at least if price is not an issue.

Patriot Class 10 cards gave me problems on my Nexus One, and reportedly had a spectacular fail rate on Android and WP7 phones.. does that still apply?

Decent price, but a class 4 ehhhhhh. You should probably spend a few dollars more and go for the 10.

A SanDisk class 4 is equivalent to most brands' class 6. They tend to underrate their cards when it comes to speed.

Exactly.
I have a class 10 Patriot and it kinda sucks!
SanDisk micro sd have good reliability but their cards are pretty slow. My 32GB and 8GB class 4 SanDisk both maxes out around 4.3 MBs. In comparison my
AData 8GB class 4 averages 8MBs.
AData 8GB class 6 averages 11MBs
Toshiba 8GB class 4 averages 7MBs
Toshiba 16GB class 4 averages 7MBs

I keep googling deals on microsd cards. This one came up today. Saw a TEAM card on sale for the same price a week ago but let it slip. Might jump on this one.
Of course Samsung and Sandisk are probably more trustworthy manufacturers.
just picked one up from the ebay site..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313253 is a little better deal. It's a class 6 but if you do the free 4 day shipping and 30% off w/ promo code EMCNDHH73, you only pay $15.39 out the door so to speak for a 32gb class 6 card.

For the class 6 Sandisk, is that the read or the write speed?

FYI: a good way to find out if your card's a fake: SD Card Tester, a free app from the PlayStore.........it gives your read/write speeds, card volume + limited diagnostics.
Yea, agreed......lotta fakes out there!
My SanDisk 64GB class10 microSDXC from eBay isn't a fake (but I knew that already).
Using the SD Card Tester app, it benches the same in writes (~10MB/s) as Antutu, but slower in reads (~18MB/s vs ~30MB/s in antutu).

frys has 32gb class 10 for $22. Probably good till friday.
none of the Class 10 Sandisk cards write as fast as the Samsung, its really discouraging that Sandisk would hide the fact that the write speed is 1/3 of its read speed. Look at http://www.bhphotovideo.com they have read and write speeds listed per card and being this info is very important to photographers and videographers its pretty legit.

the class 10 sandisk 64gb card I have writes at least 11 Mbps. which is pretty 'close' to the listed speed of the samsung 32gb class 10 but double the memory.
