I just found this on amazon while looking for possible replacements for my bricked epic.
am i reading this correctly? or is this and lte epic touch?
http://wireless.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-II-Android-Titanium/dp/B00A0CJ1CG
it claims to have lte and nfc capabilities
or is this a completely different phone?
or the epic with swapped hardware?
There are a few users that purchased the Titanium version. I'm not 100% sure but if I remember they said it was just another color variant with no difference. But I could be wrong.

Its a copy paste of the korean s2 which is the same specs as the sprint s2 except added nfc and lte instead of wimax. All Sprint/Boost/VM s2's are identical except for color, wimax 4g, no nfc

The Sprint site says NFC for the Titanium too or at least it did a few weeks ago.

Samsung copy pasted the Korean s2's specs by mistake it's been like that for a while. They oppsed in the titanium and copied the korean cdma version specs instead of the US cdma version. It happened after they dropped the Epic touch branding in favor of just Galaxy S II

Interesting that it says 8.94mm thickness, which is the correct thickness for the HSPA+ model, but according to unconfirmed reports from some Chinese sites the thickness of the LTE model should be 9.34mm. This could mean one of two things: RadioShack actually will have two models of the Galaxy Nexus, and they happen to list the HSPA+ model thickness; or like martonikaj said, just a poor copy-paste job from marketing material.

Exactly. And because Epic Touch has a larger screen, 4G and notification led, it's the best version of GS2 or any other android phone in the us.
He'd probably have to import an international Note just to make up for swapping out the Epic Touch. And that still may not be an upgrade if one cared about 4G (which I really don't, so it would be for me).
Congrats. You just downgraded your service provider and downgraded you device. AT&Ampt is the worst possible carrier and you no longer has the exynos chipset. If i was you i would do an about face. Return your AT&Ampt device. And NEVER EVER look back. Also i hope you enjoy getting limited to 2GB of Data thru AT&Ampt. And getting charged more for less minutes. Enjoy. Lulz.

I know there's a lot of talk going on here about the EMMC bug and I'd seen an app somewhere at XDA for Chainfire's GotBrickBug App. Found it and ran it but i'm not sure if my replacement board is different from my bricked return but it's not in Chains database of EMMC chips that are suspect. Maybe Samsung is putting new boards in later phones of the same model? My guess by this information is that they possibly knew about the issue pretty early in production because they wouldn't have just replaced chips midstream. I'm still gonna be a tad leary of doing too many wipes because Yes i did try more than 5 different roms so I'm pretty sure it was all the wipes. Funny that it bricked in the middle of just taking pictures.
Thank You....

AFAIK the new chips have had this issue put to bed.
Those still with the ones marked known - MAG4FA, for example - are still susceptible.
Hopefully though these will be put to bed with JB.
(JB sources, including the i9100 - have so far seemed to contain the official patch.)
So do you think the MAG2GA 0xE may be safe? I'd be willing to test this chip format and I'll make sure to post that in the General section. I did however, just last night flash Snipers PacMan after I made a backup of my Lightweight v0.5, did a little configuring and did a backup again with PAC. Now I'm back on my Lightweight by restoring from CWM. Couple more times of doing that may brick me with all the wipes. We'll see!!

Considering the issue was known and fixed in the GNex - and that this is not in the official patch list - I have always considered the new eMMCs as not susceptible to the bug. That's not to say that good practices should still not be in order... but for most people the problem was proactively addressed by the community and should not be an issue.
I just read about this thing, and I know we have leaks and such, but it worries me that we won't see JB. Why would they update ours and have a new one come out, and the new one is the same thing accept 8GB internal and runs JB out of the box. Anyone else at least confused on Samsung's thought process here?

I'm not sure why but it's probably because they got left over parts they never put to use so they probably just slap them together into a mid range phone and make whatever they can out of the parts they wouldn't be able to get rid of anyways. Just my thought... if you can scrap older parts or left overs into a device you can use to sell via a carrier on a contract for 50 to 100$ maybe even free, why not?
Maybe looking to corner the market on pre-paid carriers with the left-over parts as mentioned before. Also, with apple rumors on a lower cost iphone for overseas markets, maybe this will be marketed as the H2H competitor.
We got Jelly already anyway so who cares? I mean if FL16 isn't good enough for a daily I don't know what is.

So why is this called Plus? Seems the same as the SII but with less storage? Same screen size, same camera's, both are dual core. Why would you go with this over a a SII?
I guess the positives of it rocking nearly the same hardware is that if the older S2 models don't get 4.2.x updates... the S2 + will be a sign of hope.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Looks like the price will be around $450usd (if its priced similarly to other countries by exchange rate) so itll be a lower mid range device on par with s3 mini slightly higher price than s3 and lower than prevail. Who the hell knows. Probably size constraints cdma devices have alot more crap inside them than gsm does. International phones have one gsm hspa+ 21 or 42 antenna vs cdma has a 1x/3g plus wimax or 1x separate 3g and wimax. Then theres all the other parts in there wifi antenna bluetooth SoC RAM etc nfc chips are actually quite big. The s3 has it built into the battery because of that and the note 2 has it built into the battery cover with connectors that press against leads on the back housing
Edit: it also has a very limited range like maybe 2" MAX so it cant be embedded in the device it needs to be almost at the surface to prevent interference from the other hardware. Its range is so limited it wont eve work thru some phone cases

What's the dedectable for an exchange? Mine has a messed up audio port sometimes music cuts in and out. Annoying as hell. Was considering sending it in.
Might try it to see if I get the L version, lol.

Anyone know if an LTE one was given for a normal 1 year warranty exchange?
Is there a forum yet for the T999L?

I'm trying my luck at it now, I doubt it though - I'm sure they have tons of s3's coming back in (trade ins) or refurbs stocked and ready to go. $20 for a replacement while still in warranty, eek.

For the Galaxy S3, I believe it is 130$ with the insurance deductible off the top of my head.
Edit : Did some more searching and found I was right..
