Put files into your external sd and flash from there.

I've read through other threads but haven't found an answer to my problem.
My GS3 is updated to the most recent firmware sent out by Sprint.
I was trying to root my phone in the interest (and impatience) of flashing the stable maybe official Jelly Bean rom that hit the developer forum yesterday. Looking around I found the 'one click' toolkit from andoid.gs (tried to link, but it wouldn't let me as this is my first post) because I haven't messed with a phone since my evo4g probably a year ago.
I followed all of the instructions and when I ran the .tar file from that site with Odin, my phone wouldn't restart or even charge. After reading around and removing the battery I've been able to get the phone back into download mode. I've attempted to use the most recent CWM, TWRP and stock Sprint .tar files from the developer thread here on XDA but they all result in the same useless slender sleek brick of a phone that the original attempt resulted in. The phone will not reboot on its own and will not restart. If it does turn on or reboot at all it is only for long enough to flash the Samsung screen for a moment or an empty battery with the spinning circle after which it does the horrid death sputter vibration and then dies.
I can get into recovery mode also. Recovery mode also works after running a stock .tar or the TWRP .tar in Odin but results in the same 1.2 seconds of Samsung boot screen followed by a death rattle and powering off.
Any advice would be helpful.
In recovery, wipe data/factory reset and flash the file here
https://rapidshare.com/files/1412607315/LI3_STOCK_COMPLETE.zip << stock 4.0.4 LI3 or
here http://db.tt/uHDNq8C2 << Stock 4.1.1 LIF
Or In download mode flash the file here http://www.hotfile.com/dl/161492098/9fa8372/L710VPALEN_L710SPRALEN_SPR.zip.html
Thanks for the help. How can I flash the file from recovery mode? I don't know how to get any files onto the phone in this condition. I can't transfer anything to it and I don't have a way to transfer anything onto the microSD card other than the (working) phone.
If I use the link provided for DOWNLOAD mode, can I use Odin to flash it?

I'm going to assume you dont know how to push files with adb so download the DOWNLOAD mode file and yes that is flashed in odin. From there you can reapply cwm or twrp recovery and flash the jb link above.
If your still having trouble check out qbking77 on youtube he has videos showing how to do everything and it helps to see what to do

That's a very safe assumption. I flashed it with Odin and I have my phone back. Thank you so much. I appreciate your help and appreciate you not calling me an idiot like you probably should have and to RTFM.
Odin?
I have the same problem but where exactly did you put the zip file in Odin Dante?

I actually ended up following exactly the videos by QBKing. Just Google his name then go to his website. He has a section on unbricking phones with video tutorials.
He also has a great video tutorial and links on how to properly root and install the new jelly bean leak with links to all necessary files.
I'm running JB now and so glad I am. I love it. No issues or bugs. The whole thing took like an hour. If you've never rooted before, be sure to follow the directions exactly.

Hi everyone,
I had just rooted my stock i747 (Telus) now, and it was all going well until I couldn't boot into CWM. I read this thread (scroll down to bottom where it talks about "What to do if Phone Boots into Stock Recovery (Android Recovery) instead of CWM"): androidtelegraph.com/guide-install-clockworkmod-cwm-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300/
In short, I had deleted the two files: "recovery-from-boot.p.", and "install-recovery.sh" in attempt to solve my issue to boot into CWM. Once in CWM, I followed this guide to install a stable CyanogenMod ROM: galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-roms/how-to-install-custom-rom-on-rooted-galaxy-s3/
This is where the trouble begins. First, when I attempted to wipe data/factory reset, there was an error. If I recall, it was an error dealing with the mounting of something (probably the stock ROM). Nevertheless, it continued to wipe the data. Next, when I browsed to find the ROM inside the directory and pressed Yes to start installing the ROM, this is where I could not continue. It gave me an error and I do not know how to fix it. I was wondering if it would have to do with the fact that I deleted "recovery-from-boot.p." and "install-recovery.sh" previously.
What went wrong? What do I do? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
If you can boot into your phone then just use ROM manager to flash CWM again. You also use ADB.
Your other option is to go into Download Mode and use ODIN to install TWRP.

Do the 2 files I deleted affect the flashing of any ROM? If so, how do I get those 2 files back? What is the point of flashing CWM again?? Sorry as I am totally new to all of this!

Basically I would do what the guy told you above. I would also download the ROM you want to flash again and try again without modifying anything. You shouldn't have to modify anything unless the Dev told you otherwise.

I'm new to Android and tried to flash a customer ROM and am now stuck in a boot loop. Any help will be appreciated and I'll try to explain myself the best I can.
1. I have a Bell Note 2 and rooted with the CF auto root process
2. I upgraded SuperSU after the root reboot and installed the reboot checker. it said i was rooted.
3. I used titanium backup to backup candy crush
4. I installed ROM Manager and installed ClockWorkMod Recovery. My Note 2 wasn't supported, but I read that i could use the international version from the list so i did that. Everything said it was successful.
5. I downloaded the DN3 Rom from the forums here and transferred to my SD card.
6. I booted into CWM Recovery and did a backup from the options there.
7. Then I chose to install a customer rom and searched for the zip file on my microSD card.
8. The DN3 splash screen came up and took me through some install screens. I chose everything for the SGH-i317M options during the install.
9. it rebooted and loops between the samsung note II splash screen the CWM recovery 6.0.4.3 screen for a second and continues to loop between the two.
I can't get to the CWM recovery screen. if i try it just keeps looping. I'm sitting in the odin mode screen now and i think i need to install a stock rom. Can anyone point me in the right direction to at least get it working? then i'll need to see what i did wrong. thanks.
So i'm in odin mode and found a stock rom to reinstall. it gets to Modem, then fails so i'm not sure if i grabbed the wrong one. I believe i can install a rom through odin now that i can get to odin mode, is that right? but i can't really find any roms around to load cause all the ones i fond are zip files. Do i need to find an MD5/tar file? and where would i find them?
Try sammobile.com
Thanks for the reply. I tried that but the share for the firmware was no good. I ended up resolving it through Keis emergency firmware update.

Hey All,
I have a current predicament on my hands.. I have a N7105T that I had rooted and I noticed my TWRP was out of date..So I decided to update it using an app I downloaded from the play store (Name has been lost to me) but it downloaded it and installed and updated..But I had presumed that something had gone wrong because It didn't reset on its own, so i reset it myself and after that it wouldn't load and was stuck on the boot screen (Where it tells you what phone you have)
I looked on here and found a solution, downloaded Odin and a restore TAR for my particular model..after that successfully worked I then decided to try and install a new rom on my phone...Well that was a bad idea, I did as was instructed wiped the data etc: clean installation..but for some reason it kept failing to install..
So now I cant even get into the Boot Manager and all its showing is that there was a problem with the firmware and to use Kies to fix it up, So I downloaded a stock rom from sammobile and followed the instuctions to load the rom onto my phone from another topic on this site...
It is now constantly failing when I try and use Odin to load the rom...It just hangs and then says failed in red.
I am stessing because I really need my phone and I know I should have just left it working but I like to try and experiment but unfortunately it has backfired on me.
I have the samsung drivers installed and I have one stock rom for my particular phone but I am in the process of downloading an older version.
My Provider is Telstra.
I hope I have provided enough info and not rambled on too much.
Regards
Justin
I had the same problem with you... I've learned that I shouldn't trust thing I don't download my self and read what it says.....
Anyways what I would suggest is go to twrp website and download the .tar of the recovery and use Odin to install it on to your phone and see if you can get into the recovery mode
(Volume down+power or volume up+home+power)
If that does the work install Kies onto your phone and under tools -》firmware upgrade and initialize (note you should only do this as your last resort since it'll put a boot loader that you won't want onto your phone

2. My Phone Memory is showing as Minus Storage

The only way you can install the zip file is by using a custom recovery, here flash this using Odin:http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/p5110/philz_touch_6.12.8-p5110.tar.md5
but first you have to move/copy the zip file of the rom or whatever you want to install to your tablet or micro sd card. and when you done flashing the recovery file, you will have to boot your note in recovery mode, you can do it by pressing volume up and power button at the same time. then you can choose the zip you want to flash.
and if you want to go back and install the stock firmware here is a link of the note 8.0 4.2.2 official firmware US version:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9QvmNs9dpD-M21DaF95NWdNUW8/edit?usp=sharing
thanks a lot for the info!! i have got Clockwork Recovery 6.0.3.1 on it but i will flash it with the one you suggested. you have cleared things up for me and i appreciate it.:good: my tablet has been down for about a week now while i have been trying to figure it out, just going to a black screen after the samsung logo. what rom would you suggest for firmware 4.3? i know samsung does not have an official release yet.
