[Q] SMS and calls not working on my verizon nexus - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

A few days ago my texts and calling stopped working on my phone. It is weird because if some people text me I will get all of them at once maybe once or twice a day and I can sometimes respond but it takes many attempts and usually doesn't work. I'm running JBSourcery 5.0 but this did not start until a few days after I installed it and after wiping everything then re-installing the rom it did not fix it. I've tried dialing *228 which took a lot of attempts for the call to go through and when it finally did it still did not fix it. I can still connect to 4g though, just no texting and calling. Anyone know anything else I can do to fix this?

[Q] Anyone Still Noticing Intermittent Ghost LoS?

So, around 11am this morning, I tried calling a conference line for work, and didn't get a dial tone, but the phone said I had three bars. I decided to reboot, just in case, and what do you know, I had three text messages waiting, and missed a call.
It looks like I lost the connection somewhere between 6pm and 10pm last night, but I have no way of knowing when. I haven't used my LoS tool for a long time because it hasn't seemed necessary, but it looks like I should reinstall it.
So my question is: have any of you had a similar problem in the last few weeks/months? It's pretty clear to me that the EL29 OTA + modem does not, in fact, fix LoS permanently, or at least Sprint/Samsung can't seem to fix ghost LoS.
If there's enough interest, I'll start updating my LoS Daemon again.
No where near as much compared to when I got this phone. It's maybe once a week now if that. I'm on gb still running FE16 if that matters to you

I had this same problem for several weeks. Well, not the same exact problem. I could make calls, recieve texts but not recieve incoming calls. Callers would go straight to voicemail and I wouldn't get the notification for a while either. People would text me 'did you get my VM?' I even started testing this by calling myself from the office phone (full signal btw).
I ended up calling sprint and totally reprovisioning the phone and haven't had any problems since. I posted how I did that here:

signal issues, mic issue in last week.....

Hi all,
I have had my verizon Nexus for months with no real issues. it is rooted and I have mainly been running AKOP with the kernal that comes with it. I updated the radio to FC04/FC05 when it was available a while back.
This past week I started having signal issues....Whenever I send a text the signal bars go out and show an "x". I have to resend the text several times for it to go thru. Also, trying to call or answer a call is not working either. If a call actually gets connected I can't hear the other person. they have told me that they can hear me though.
Yesterday, I flashed a month old backup. the phone worked better for a while, then went back to having the connection issues.
mainly just a rant, as I have read about others having these issues. But if there is a fix that works, please let me know. It is just odd that my phone worked perfectly for so long, then all of a sudden started having these issues. And I cannot think of anything that has changed that I know of, that might have caused these issues to arise.
thanks,
Jon

[Q] Text messages and calls not being received

I've been having a problem with receiving texts sometimes and I recently noticed that it happens with call apparently. The issue is that I'm texting people back and forth and then all of a sudden I wont receive messages for a long time (couple hours). At some point, someone's text message will push through all of the other ones all at the same time. Sometimes when I assume i'm having this issue, I will send a text to myself and it will push the other ones through as well. Recently though I was made aware that during this "outage", I also was not able to receive phone calls at all. The signal is strong at all times (3-4 bars). Also happens when I'm home all day and not changing locations when it will suddenly stop getting texts and calls. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I restarted the phone and changed cell towers with the Airplane mode many times and the issue continues to happen at random times. It is really inconvenient. Suggestions?
Technical details: I use the stock 4.1.1 Rom that comes with AT&T S3. I do have LTE in my area.
And now it has happened 3 days in a row but at different times of day. This is a huge problem for me as I use my phone a lot. Any help would be appreciated
You still have your IMEI number via settings -> about phone -> status?

TRy making sure yiur not in airplane mode. i was stuck in airplane for a week ._____________.:cyclops:
That's weird. Re-seat your SIM card, if that doesn't do anything then take a trip to your nearest AT&T store/dealer and have them swap out your SIM card and see if it still occurs after that.
I had a similar problem a while back and it happened to be a network problem with my carrier. Gave them a call and all is fine now.

It happend to me too. I went to att store and get new sim. No problem for last 15-20 days. Looks like i got stronger signal too.
Just to give anyone interested in this an update:
I went to the AT&T store today and told them my issue so they told me to go to the nearest AT&T device support center (which was really far away). People over there told me they heard about this issue many times over the past couple of months. The guy working there had a S3 and said he has the same problem. They received an email from the higher-ups this morning specifically talking about this random outage thing I have and that they are currently working on it. They were told to not exchange phones or sim cards because of this since it wont help. The issue involves a combination of Network and Jelly Bean software problems and happens on all new LTE devices that have Jelly Bean from AT&T. They told me to check periodically if there is a solution.
I guess I just gotta wait. Unless someone recommends a ROM that is not based on the latest AT&T jelly bean?
Bumping it up, both me and my wife have had this happen. From what im read its a pretty widespread deal.
Anyone know of a work around at least until they fix it?
Keep us updated
Same problem here - switched from Verizon to AT&T last month and started noticing this problem a few weeks ago. Back then a Google search didn't find much on it, but this thread looks promising.
Just to add my two cents: I'm on a rooted S3 with task650's AOKP (4.2.1) build 12.23.2012 (link). Made sure to flash the modem for my phone (I747UCLI5 from here). Problem: phone randomly won't receive calls or texts. Sometimes calling someone will fix it.
I read somewhere that on AT&T, calls and texts are received over 3G and sometimes phones have difficulty switching from 4G. Anyone know if this is true?
Do a full wipe /system, /data, /cache, /dalvik cache. And your problems should be gone 9 times out of 10 that's usually everybodys problem

Seems to still be working fine.
I started a thread on this also and just yesterday received some info from AT&T tech.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2123974
guys,
it is an ATT issue,
here is a temp solution for a fix:
1) With phone on, take off back cover and press your SIM card so it releases from the spring. It won't come all the way out as it's blocked by the battery. This seems fine - I didn't bother trying to force it out as I didn't want to break anything...
2) Once you see the message that the SIM card is removed, go to the dialer and dial *#2263#
3) You should see a menu with band selections. The current setting is "Automatic". If you switch to "GSM All", you will be EDGE (2G). If you switch to "WCDMA All", you will be on HSPA+ (3G, though AT&T and others call it 4G).
4) Press the SIM card back into place until it clicks. For whatever reason the phone will not recognize it until you reboot. Upon reboot you should see your new setting in effect

[Q] Can't call or data but SMS works..strange

my unlocked s-off vzw m7 won't do calls. when i place a call it goes "..errr.. ber ber ber...beeeep" and hangs up; nobody can call me either. spent 10hrs with verizon trying to fix it but they got nothing. Data, 4g/whatever, does not work. SMS and MMS work fine. Push works fine. Wifi works fine.
i've tried different roms, kernels and radios but nothing. one night it worked fine, next morning it was no good. can't think of anything that would have changed.
anyone? it's so strange...

[Q] Voice issues

Is anyone have issues with voice calling. As of lately while trying to call out, it will take upwards of 9-16 seconds for the phone to start ringing with 3 bars. Also with 3 bars the connection has been broken, choppy or flat out disconnects after a few seconds. I did the ##72786#, and updated the PRL, but that didnt do much to help. I have also noticed that my 4G isnt a good as it use to be since i took ND8. My wifes phone isnt having those issues because i test called on here phone and here connection was fine. Sprint said it was my Radio, but ive read that the ND8 radio wasnt very good.
I am thinking about doing a full restore to stock 4.4.2 to see if that helps, but id like to know if anyone else has any other suggestions before i do that. It will be a long process and i am hoping to avoid a full restore.
