3000mAh battery for our vibrants for around $22
Found this a few days ago, ordered one, and am completely happy with it. Battery life is excellent and the extended door fits well. The bump takes a bit to get used to.
Just to be clear I am not selling these and have no affiliation with the seller. Just putting it out there

Yep - tested and works great. I used to get 8 hours of heavy use from the stock battery - now I am getting about 15 hrs of heavy use. Only 1 charge a day works for me.

So the 3000 mAh for sure works with the vibrant.
How about this 3500 one?
Also, how much thicker does it make the phone?

I haven't found any cases yet for the extended battery.
PS. These cases are for the i9000....and the camera position is the same at the vibrants/
what about the speakers?
So neither the camera nor the speakers are covered up by these extended batteries and cases?

The 3500mAh looks to be built into the back cover. A little weird. The 3000 mAh works great. I just ordered 2 more from the link above for 7.99. I paid 22 for my first one because I don't like to wait, but the ones I just ordered look like they are the same. They should work fine

Hi for the people are using the extended battery, do you people recondition/wipe battery stats after flashing new rom? Just wonder cuz I got myself one but it doesn't seem to last long. I did as instructed when first received let it die then charge then die then charge for 4 times. Thanks

STOP THAT! You are doing harm to your battery by "reconditioning", fully discharging this type of battery is one of the wort things you can do to them. Four times? No wonder it doesn't last long, you probably did permanent damage already.
Try to never let your battery drop below 30%, li-ion batteries suffer if you do. When you flash a new ROM just make sure the battery is at 100% when you flash it, and if you want wipe the battery stats to calibrate the phone, thats it.

How much thicker do these cases make my vibrant?
And I'm guessing my body cover (its like a glove) on the vibrant wont work with these big cases now?

As long as you can avoid it. It's a shame that so many people keep spreading that bad information in guides and such. Deep cycling batteries only worked for old technology that would hold a memory. Li-Ion batteries are at their happiest at about 85% charge.
So im in the market for a new battery. A higher capacity one but slimline. I do not want a different size battery door. Anybody know of any good ones for a decent price?
Great question. I'm wondering the same thing.
I bought this one. I had to wait a month for it since is came from Hong Kong. I can get ~16 hours running the screen at 80% brightness, texting alot, 3g radio always on, constantly checking email. No complaints other than the time it took to ship.

I was sceptical but the reviews swayed me and I tried these- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XOUM12
I'm pleasantly surprised, I notice a definite difference in battery life and the wall charger is a bonus. For the price it's hard to beat and delivery was within a week.

Personally I have found these batteries no better than the stock htc red. With juice defender I get fair batt life with either...10-16 hours or so. I do find the wall charger useful as the battery never gets fully charged when charging in the phone.
There are no slim batteries that are better than stock, the only thing to increase your battery is to add a few millimeters oh my god, to your phone and get a 3500 you won't be disappointed, and yes like someone already said, use the search button next time this must be my like 6th time answering this question muskeg let alone if someone else did too, which I feel has happened too

i get 17-22 hours with my best buy platnium battery (seido knock off) tht i bought off ebay.. so i would disagree there are some extended battery tht does work and there are some that doesnt have the right mah...

The Seidio stock size extended battery sucks. Doesn't even charge past 90% anymore, and I didn't really notice a difference.

This cool little thing called a volt meter. We have them in the 21st century, definitely should check it out.
So I found this 1750mAh Anker battery for the T989 and I'm wondering:
The standard OEM battery is 1850mAh.
This Anker battery is 1750mAh.
Anker is known to make higher capacity batteries that don't require a separate back cover. (I've had an HTC Sensation and an Anker battery was like heaven on it)
So is this Anker battery really 1750mAh? It would seem kind of pointless since the OEM battery is 1850mAh ... Has anyone ever bought this before? There are no reviews
Yeah, I saw that as well. I don't think it's worth getting since it's a bit worse in mah compared to the stock...
I knew that the Ankers were reasonably better than stock EVO 3D batteries, but this does not seem to be the case here.

I'm wondering if anyone got it. Its not even so expensive. I suppose Anker made it 1750mAh but did some tweaks to make it last longer than stock, if that's possible at all. Just a guess.
Any other batteries anyone would recommend? I only prefer one that barely adds much thickness with a new cover.

There's a 95% chance I will be ordering this soon, so I'll keep this updated when I receive it. I have good hopes for it because of my previous experiences with Anker batteries. They work wonders.
keep us posted of your impression
Just ordered the battery
I'll post my results.
Edit:
My results with the 2050mah battery are noticeably better than stock. I would go as far as to say that I'm getting 2 or more extra hours out of each charge. For $10 on Amazon, you are definitely getting your money's worth.
I was going to insert some screenshots and the Amazon link, but apparently I have to post 8 times to the forums before I can post links..... so, you'll have to take my word for it and do your own Amazon search for the Anker 2050.
planning on ordering one myself. please let us know guys! thanks!

I have purchased 3 of the 2000 mah XPower batteries! They work perfectly fine!! It gives me more life than the stock 1750 mah!
Also its the exact same size as that of the stock battery... So no worries abt an extra back door!
And I got 3 of them + the wall charger for the battery for less than $10 on ebay!!
So now i have totally 4 batteries - 3x2000 + 1x1750 = 7750 mah!!
Definitely worth it rather than holding a clunky phone with an extended 3000+ mah batteries!!

Thanks, I did see that one, although it comes out to $13 including shipping. I was hoping to find a $10 one that included shipping but I think that may be asking for too much So I'll probably just go for the 2 pack + charger for $10 shipped. That will give me 3 batteries total, which should be plenty of juice.
Anyways, I appreciate you taking the time to look. Thanks!

I'm not sure either, sacthegreat was the only person to respond and he/she said that these batteries did have more capacity. I think it would be very difficult to measure this anyway, since there isn't a direct measurement for mah in the phone. And because the difference in capacity is relatively small (~14%) I'm not sure how easy it is to notice in daily use; changes in how the phone is used could mask the capacity difference.
So I've made up my mind, I think that I'm going to try two different brands of batteries (+charger) and see if one is better than the other

The total comes out to $10 shipped, which is the same price as buying the two pack with charger. So hopefully this will increase the odds of getting at least one good battery
I totally missed the shipping in the link I gave, sorry as I had no intention of buying it and didnt realize shipping wasnt included. I would just get the 2 batteries as I dont think the extra 3rd battery is worth like 30% more but if you need a lot of battery, I guess you can go for it. I dont have any experience with this battery but do with Hyperions and those have worked great for me. I just keep the phone charged and make sure the spare is charged as well. If I did get a bundle with 3 batteries, I think it would be difficult to keep track of all of them and remember which one is charged and which isnt. I like the simplicity of one spare battery and the oem one
It's the stock size itself! And i got a little battery life than the stock battery on my phone! Not a big difference, but i could notice it!

I found this thread where G1_enthusiast reviewed Anker and Seidio batteries for S3, but I also found the 4600mAh battery from Mugen Power earlier than these, and ordered it.
All I head is that cheap batteries are made out of almost expired materials and work for like 200 charge cycles, which explains their price. The expensive ones like Mugen or Seidio work for 400-500 charges, which is better, but would be awesome if some one could review the 4600mAh one. I will post my results later when I receive it, but I don't have experience in doing such tests.
ADD INFO - Found video review on the web

The expensive ones like Mugen or Seidio work for 400-500 charges, which is better, but would be awesome if some one could review the 4600mAh one. I will post my results later when I receive it, but I don't have experience in doing such tests.

reason why they are not popular is the price tag, i used to think their company is out of japan but in fact they are base out of hong kong (people tend to think china stufff are ****ty). so what make their battery better than anker or hyperion? having say that, i have own their battery before (G2 and SGS2) and they do make battery longer than stock. however i was not into crazy testing at the time. i will not pay 100 bucks for battery again, as long as anker is in bussiness.
seido is the only battery company that is base in texas...thats not to say their factory isnt in china either. they also make quality battery in the past

Well, as I head many times and experienced myself on older phones (I have a 3900mAh from Mugen for Nexus S that works for 1.5 years already) - industry standards cannot produce a good quality battery and sell it for 10$. Those batteries are usually made out of expired materials. The issue here is not just the capacity but the battery life cycle. Cheap batteries have confirmed to last for 100-200 charges, however batteries from Seidio or Mugen last for 400-600 charges, not to say about warranty and safety + NFC support.
Also, for me personally customer support and brand presence is more important than being cheap. If I can afford a phone that costs 800$, I surely can get a good quality battery for a 100$. I will get the battery soon, btw, and will let you know.

I wonder if the Mugen battery will work with the extended cases that are being offered. I got one from Hyperion that I like. Judging by pictures it looks like the Mugen extended door may be a little bigger or designed different.
If the Mugen would fit with the other extended doors and TPU cases I would buy it. I've had great luck with them,

If a cheap extended battery lasts for 200 charges and I charge it every 2 days, it's still going to last over a year. I expect to have a new phone by this time next year if not sooner. So what's the big deal?

Good point, I always try to get the best deal, but for some reason I stopped using ebay batteries long time ago after a couple of duds.

That is why you go for tested name brand but not super expensive. a mugen costs more than 5 times what a hyperion, qcell, etc. costs. but it is very unlikely they will last 5 times as many charges. there is nothing like a fresh battery!
Well, they're always out of stock...I guess they never back back-logs. Anyways, I've received my S3 battery and now I need to calibrate the phone according to their instruction. They say that it's necessary to charge 4-5 times for 8-12 hours before the phone recognizes the new capacity. Does anyone know why?

I possibly cannot be doing a better ones that I've added to the thread. Check these videos.
$100 for a battery! That's more than half what I payed for the phone itself

Why didn't you buy a stand with extra battery that recharges both at the same time and just carry the extra one with you? I did, 18 pounds in amazon.uk. That way there is no extra bulk, and it's much cheaper!

I tend to carry my phone around, that's why. I think that's the sole purpose of having an extended battery in the first place.

Who said anything about not carring it around? I also carry it around, along with the extra battery. At the end of the day i put them both charging.

Yup, when the other extended battery costs less than $30 bucks, why pay much more?

Thanks. Is this the official Samsung extended battery kit? Also, does the S3 fit in this dock when used with either an Incipio or SGP Neo Hybrid case?

This is not the official one, it's Chinese. But in a emergency the extra battery does the trick. The phone won't fit with the case, you have to take it off.
