Hello,
I want to go back to the latest stock roms because i don't enjoy the current roms that are out.
And i can't use what i want on a custom rom but i can on the stock.
Can someone explain to me how to go back to stock?
Thanks,
Thomas
Flash a Stock ROM ftf using flastools.

I currently flashed my Phone with this rom.
But i currently got another problem : My phone gives me the message that there is a new update. But when i try to install it, i get an error that it's not possible.
Using a Xperia S.
you cant update when you are on unlocked bootloader, you need to relocked first.

You need to relock only when going to use SUS/PCC. Flashtool, no need.
yeah , but he is asking that he cant update his phone even though it prompts him with new firmware available.

Ok I was running version .145 (rooted) with unlocked bootloader already. I am just trying to update my version to the latest one. So what I did, I download the stock .145 version and flash them using Flashtool. After flashing the phone booted just fine. After that, I go to update the software from the setting option. The phone downloaded the software and eventually install it. Since then I dont know why the phone is unable to reboot itself??? I have tried to re-flash again using the flash tool but still unable to boot my phone??? (seem to be flash ok, no error messages what so ever). Can anyone help me, how to boot my phone again?? or to make it work normal again?? Thank you.

Ok, think I finally fixed it....thanks to the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358
Seemed like I bricked my phone....thank god it work again...
Everytime bootloader is unlocked, OTA will brick the phone. That's a fact. Anyway at least you figured out the solution.
Hey..
Nice that you fixed it..
Please read the Namaste guide sticky in Genral forums for info on locked vs unlocked bootloader..
OTA update for any unlocked bootloader will end up with a bricked phone.. So instaed simply flash the latest ROM ftf and then flash a rooted img.. Check forums for threads on tutorials for this..
Hey guys I'm currently on android version 4.0.4 not sure what version this is jelly bean or ICS however if this is ice cream sandwich and my phone is currently rooted and the boot loader is unlocked will updating the software affect my phone
No!

Here you go mate, thanks for providing your CID you are all good to go, here you go:
Firstly you will need to download the rom you wish to use and this tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924003
(this is the mutt's nuts, the dog's bollox, the Jap's baps or whatever, its great)
You will firstly need to put the rom zip on your sdcard
Then boot your phone into fastboot
Then use the tool in the link above This will flash the firmware you need and also boot.img for the rom you want to install. Just unzip the download, put the boot.img in the root of that unzipped folder and then execute the bat file. It will talk you through what its doing.
After that, boot into recovery and flash the rom
---------- Post added at 07:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:56 PM ----------
Oh yeah you will also need to put the unlock token you originally used in with the boot.img
well after the release of the latest firmware comes the new expectation of rooting the device?
any successors?
for now,you can only flash over rooted 4.4.4
what i am asking is a more direct and preferably one step method...

Hi i followed all the steps as mentioned.... but after flashing restarting it is not going past Sony logo, not even the boot animation.
Please help
Hey there Just decided to share my experience. I have a D5503 and I flashed the 14.5.A.0.242 firmware. After this I decided to try to root the device, but since I had no TWRP or Clockwork it seems impossible to root. I lost my bootloader unlock too and no tool or method seems to be able to unlock it. I tried the official sony method, tried from flashtool and other similar programs but nothing seems to work (from cmd it comes up with and error message, some kind like "failed, cannot complete command or smth"). And yes,I've checked and my phone's bootloader CAN be unlocked. Any ideas what must be causing that or I just have to wait for a proper tool/method for root/BL unlocker ?
i believe i do everything right but after many tries i can t get my bootloader unlocked
bootloader status is allowed to unlock and all seem fine until in the last command i get this error message i attach below.i have done many tries in two PCs both running windows 10.what can cause this message?

Find the thread for your stock firmware and see if it is available there. This happens because of root and/or the unlocked bootloader. You have to unroot and possibly relock the bootloader to be able to take OtA updates.
Sent from my Moto G6 Plus using Tapatalk
Same issue here .
If your bootloader is unlocked or if you do not have the stock recovery anymore then the update will fail. If your rooted then look through your device for the update package and upload it online for others to see.
I've tried flashing the stock firmware but get same result. Where do I get the stock recovery to fix the issue?
I haven't unlocked neither rooted my moto g6 play yet, I received the update notification this morning , I've updated it with no issues ( around 500mb). Update is Android security patch level , 1 September 2018 , build number : OPP27.91-143

You don't have to lock bootloader to accept OTAs.

I thought the same, but flashed stock firmware and it won't update by ota.i can download it it but it fails.
unlocked bootloader won't make you unable to do the update. only stalling custom recovery and/or rooting phone. as soon as I got this update by the beginning of the month, I just reflashed stock firmware and did the update.
