[Q] Damn SD card!! - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Afternoon all!!
I am currently on my second sd card in my galaxy note 2 and the problem is, after recently making a backup of jellybam.....everything just disappeared. Check on the computer also....and nothing. Then all of a sudden the sd card appears.....but there is a message, first sating preparing sd card and 5 mins afterwards removing sd card. To top it off, an sd card icon appears in the corner with a exclamation mark!!!
How can this be rectified?

Connect your sd card to PC as mass storage, and search for application for recover data, there are lot application available for pc. If you lost data from internal sd card then it's very difficult. For ext sd card still you have good chances to recover.

Phone keeps ejecting 64gb SD Card

Was working fine up until I installed Death Star rom. I reverted back to Wicked and it continues to eject SD card right after it has been installed. I tried another 1gb sd card, works fine, no ejection. I put my 64gb sd in and it prepares it then ejects it, tried to manually mount it and it does the same thing. CMW will not mount 64gb sd card either. I did update CWM through Rom Manager (bought it FYI) but worked afer the update. This started happening minutes after it was updated.
Any ideas?

32GB micro SD card

Hey guys I recently purchased a 32gb SD card off eBay. Before I used it I formatted it to fat32 but it seems when ever I download a rom straight to the SD card from my phone it always get corrupts and stops me from doing anything in my recovery. I always get can't install <××××××> sdcard (bad) Aborted..etc. leading me to drag and drop everything to PC reformatting it. Anybody know I can avoid corruption. Thankyoi

Always format any SD card in the device in which it will be used. This will always work and ensures that the SD card has the correct format for the device.

Works best for me when I have troubles with my SD card.
I always format from the pc in fat 32, the only problem is that you won't be able to write files bigger than 4GB into the sd

My phone isn't reading the external SD card after wiping it from settings.

I have cyanogenmod 7.2 and I erased the data on the SD card in the settings. I unmounted the SD card before. After unmounting, ite says SD card safe to remove. So I removed the SD card. Then it said SD card is removed, insert a new SD card. I didn't want to insert a new SD card so I put in the same one. Then I went to the settings and clicked mount SD card. Then it says SD card is safe to remove. The phone won't read my external SD card. I tried rebooting, and reformatting SD card in cwm recovery. Nothing worked. Please help.

Insert the SD Card into a Card Reader, plug it in your PC, and FORMAT is to FAT32. it should work after that.
I just had the same problem a second ago.
***format will delete all your files of course.
OK thanks. I'll be sure to try that!
