One XL (Evita) have a Qualcomm soc, One X (Endeavouru) have a nvidia soc.
So, kernel and base are different, and if you will boot that rom on our devices you have to rebuild the rom with One X base and kernel...

R: [Q][HELP] Porting rom from evita
I think that the better solution is port system file to that rom into a stock rom of hox...
But, ask the dev for permission e some of his edits..

[Q] Help! HELP!!! HEEELLLLPPPP!!!!!! Kernel Needed!!!!!!!

Hey guys!!!
I know there are a lot of powerful guys among you, who can pack kernels that enables your DHDs to run stable at 1.5GHz! 1.5GHz!!!
Now we need your help! We people who have a HTC Incredible S need your help!!!
Most of the guys working on the Incredible S haven't got root or s-off yet, BUT in China, MOST of us have already got s-off when we buy our phones!!!
We s-off Incredible S owners need you to pack a kernel that can overclock!!! Even just to 1.2 GHz will do!!!
I know f***ing nothing about packing kernels, but I know that the Incredible S and the DHD have the same QSD8255 and 768 MB RAM!!!
So could anyone do us a favor please??? We'll be very very very very very grateful!!!
Thank you!!!!!
you need the source code from the Incredible S kernel. as long as HTC doesn't release the kernel source, there is no chance to compile your own kernel (you can try to port the kernel, but thats a huge effort).
Edit: just checked http://developer.htc.com/ and it seems that HTC has released the source code of the kernel. so it shouldn't be that hard to compile an OC able kernel

[ROM][WIP][PORT][3D Sense] The Sens3D ROM | Porters Help Needed !

Welcome everybody , this is the thread which will be updated for the 3D sense 3.0 from the Galaxy Ace Sense 3.0 Port , I am still having errors in flashing , and booting so i am trying to help fix these problems , the Kernel is m1ndh4x8r's , but i will re-try to port this through the dsixda's kitchen using the stock 2.14 kernel ... Hope it works ...
Nearly all Devs are focused on HWA of Android 4.0.3, Kernel 3.0 and On MIUI Port.
After fixing this problem we are going to port Sense 4.0 from HTC One.
But if we fix all the stuff I will help you with your Port.
Ps. Open a Working In Process thread if you're a Dev. And also write a usefull
thread, with the different version, bug list, and so on Will help you a lot.
Actually this is my thread , and i am not the big kind of linux developer , but I intend to be one , although i don't know what major should i learn so i could study it
In the meanwhile , I am having problems with the updater-script so the CWM recovery is giving me Status 0 , or 6 , or 7 errors , so I made a scan through the dsixda's kitchen and obvoiusly i got 32 issues , maybe 10 of them were "normal" since if the script is converted to updater-script it will work , but the basis are in the "format" and "mount" strings ... So i can't install it currently , still i am working to fix this script
Now about the sense 4 and ICS ports , I understand that all devs are on it , but i am a "mini" dev , not so much that can help , but my main idea for porting this rom is that it is already resized to 3.2 inches with proper stuff , and with a stock kernel and stock drivers and stock bases , it could run fluently , where as the ICS needs a plenty of work which i couldn't participate in ...

Hahaha you can forget a sense 4 port unless YOU want to do all of that resizing... But miui, I like.
If I get an hour free tomorrow I will get working on miui and cm9 to help whilst reading a book on c# lol.

I don't think so ben, HTC will also publish mpdi devices with sense 4.0 and ICS. Think about it, the devices would become bigger and bigger. And yes, I would resize the apps^^ This is going to take me for years but I will And if we have luck, the apps also will be for mpdi. Hopefully.
MIUI, I like it, but I have some ****y bugs.. hope that you can help me with wifi.. HWA is absolutely necessary, for cm9. We should look into it to get it working.
Q.: what are the main differentz between sense 3.6 and 4.0?!
okay guys I am sorry , but this is going down , at first I thought that the Ace was 3.2 inches , while it was 3.5 which means IF it boots we have to resize all this thing down which is really .... i dunno ....

But the resolution is the same 320 x 480 px...If I am not mistaken then should not be any problems.
well after installing the skeleton version I was stuck at a bootloop ... at the splash screen , so this would clearly verify it is hard , maybe if devs can help we can get this thing done ....
vatamanyuk said good Ace has the same resolution as WFS so this is not a problem.
OK dudes, I can see that some people are interessed in this Sense3D Port.
I will make it. I am going to port it, make a booting version and a working touchscreen
out of it and thats it. A port allways contains bugs, I am not the one who solve this bugs.
You guys have to do it.! OK?

No matteo don't do it !! this Rom is Senseless as I have nearly seen , I will be looking for another rom to port ... By the way i got into the /system/app and took out the Rosie.apk and pushed it into my sense rom , and just found out that it is a themed ADW to look like the sense , but still sense is much nicer than that modded version , and as we all know ADW is not 3D , so give me some time to find something that needs this energy we are hiding ...

[Q] KLP update

Hi, this is a question but because it isn't about the phone in the current form i thought it was better to put it here.
Rumours say the One X will not go past 4.2, but is it likely developers would be able to put it on? I know much older phones are able to get 4.1, 4.2 which only went up to 2 with manufacturers.
One X doesn't have S-OFF yet. And id expect you may need a later HBOOT for KLP? If it isn't released on the One X you wouldn't get that HBOOT. But for a developer to develop a later HBOOT it would need S-OFF right? If not then it is likely it will get i assume
It is 99% certain that devs will bring Android KLP for us.
It is possible to run JB4.2 on ICS hboot so I'd assume it's possible to run KLP on JB hboot as well.
Cheers for the reply Sounds like good news. Hope we get a sense version for KLP too.
I'm not sure if you're talking about the AOSP/CM/PA/AOKP KLP or Sense KLP, but either way, don't expect the One X to die soon take my old phone, the Xperia X8 for example. With limited source and limited devs, it managed to survive from Android 1.6 till Android 4.1.2 that's a device with a single core Qualcomm MSM7227 SoC with only 256 MB of RAM. I doubt the One X will die at 4.2.2, even if we don't receive it OFFICIALLY
i heard that the next update will be 4.3 and will be jellybean again
I meant Sense as i feel personally it has more features than ASOP/AKOP. And 4.3 hmmm. Been 4 for a while now, a 5 would be nice. Or if 4.3 had a few significant features. 4.2 wasn't very significant over 4.1 in all honesty.

I don't want it to die soon! I plan to keep my 11 month old one X for at least an year and a half more. Won't get a new phone before that. And it would kill me not to have the latest and the greatest on my beast.

Really? I'd like to know how, every single 4.2 rom requires JB HBOOT, and I'm stuck with ICS HBOOT (1.12).

Yes. Back in the day when JB sources were unreleased, every aosp-based ROM (even 4.2.x ones) ran kernels based on HTC's ICS kernel source.
---> ICS kernels work fine on ICS hboot
All you have to do is find an old jb4.2 ROM which contains ICS based kernel or kindly ask a ROM dev to build one for you.

Sure I've done it myself.
For example, you can download cm10.1 alpha 2 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786696
It's clearly stated that older hboot is supported.

Except they removed it from the hosting site
Thanks for the tip anyway.
Too bad I can't use newer versions and just over-ride the kernel.

I don't know if simply flashing a custom ICS kernel over a ROM would work... Please try.
Also, tbalden is a nice guy, I'm sure he'll reupload the a2 for you or even build it if you just ask politely.
Mattmanwrx is using the old kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149747
Also any 4.1.2 aosp ROM should do the trick for example CM10, IceColdJelly 4.1.2, etc.

Wow, not sure how I didn't know about this. Gonna use this instead of the current (out of date) CM10. Thanks

Rom Htc M8 EYE

First Im not a dev but does have little knownledge .
There are no ROMS for htc M8 EYE variant.
So i thought of building myself using lollipop kernel sources from htc dev. Ultimately failed because i was unable to compile bootable recovery ( Doesnt matter i have ported TWRP 3.2 from htc desire eye )
Then thought of building rom using HTc m8 device tree with some changes. I failed there too.
So i gave up on building rom from source. Then i ported a MM rom from htc m8 to htc m8 eye. I was shocked because it booted.
But bugs like wifi , no camera made me give up after trying to solve them for a week..
I dont know much about these things but htc m8 things work on eye variant too..
So please devs SHOW YOUR CHARM. Making rom for this variant woundnt be that difficult for you guys.
I can test and give you logs and everything..but cant afford a phone for u
Hope devs help ....
Give me ported twrp and your rom....
Im try to fix your bugs....
