After I upgraded to Froyo (3.4.2),
Could I downgrade back to cm7 (2.3.7)?
Coz the guide said:
"If you try to flash a lower ID version than the one already on your phone, you will just get a Black screen after booting or a screen telling you to flash an official rom."
I am just a bit worry after reading this....thanks btw!
wake prob
I have had the same issue on CM10!
Any ideas? :crying:

My HTC Desire freezes after reboot!!!

Hello guys,
I was just checking the phone while suddenly after locking and unlocking with the power button it didnt react. It was all freezed and didn't react at anything. I took off the battery and placed it on, turn up the phone but it stopped at the unlocking mode with no wallpaper at all. Did the same thing 4 times with no results. Then tried connecting to the PC, but with no results too. Btw the network is ok, shows the incoming calls!
P.S. The battery was very hot, and the battery app notification was showing fast reduction of the battery level...
Help guys! Thanks!

You can do much more with your desire ^^
pro is that you will never have space problems apps can be moved to sd card much better than with the froyo app2sd and you are up to date with your android version 2.2.3 Gingerbread is working very nice und 4.0 ics is in dev... full control of your phone complete backup of your working rom and all apps with data. If your rom crashes youst restore it to the time it works
cons some roms have some bugs like no working gps but with scripts you can fix it by yourself.
you got no warrantee if it crahses. so much that you cant move it back to stock.
usb brick is also possible but with the 4ext recovery and the great community of XDA you can repair it
for me the space problem, the costum look and the full control on my phone are the reasons to root my phone
now its your turn to root or root not

Please help automatic boot on plug in for charge

I have been having a reboot problem on my t989, it has been turning itself after ive turned it off when i plug it into a charger.I have been trying to figure this problem out for the last to months and a havent pin pointed the problem. i have checked if it was the sd card and it wasnt that , it happened two months ago when i was running darkside evolution v8 tdj.and have tried many roms to see if it was darkside and it was not. but whenever I switch to a stock firmware such as GB or stock tmobile ICS the problem stops. i am currently running clones and drones. please if anyone knows how to fix this problem or knows whats causing this to happen it will be very appreciated. thank you!
Sounds to me like you already know the cause. When you go back to stock, do you also replace the recovery? I seem to recall there was a similar glitch in the tmo g2 where it would boot to recovery if it was powered off when attached to the charger.

Its not booting into recovery its turning itself on. And yes when I switch to the stock firmware I flash it via Odin.
Well, I would say to try at least one other rom. The phone has to at least partially start up in order to control the charge cycle. (Chainfire has a charge animation replacement for one of the galaxy s phones on the play story, IIRC) So at least part of the kernel starts...

Okay I will try that. And I was watching it do the self turn on and on the top corner very shortly it says something about safe mode and I'm guessing that's directly corrilated with the problem but how is it related is my question

I tried this with the stock JB with Xperia Z extras and after trying to run Antutu, the phone shut off and wouldn't restart. I'm in the process of LGNPSTing back to stock.
Update: LGNPST doesn't seem to be working; after the 67% and 85% progress, normally the phone would bootloop and then a factory reset would be performed (as suggested here -> http://pastebin.com/hwQE66Wi). This time, however, the phone would just stay off after being unplugged and would not boot into any mode at all....i am currently attempting to KDZ to JB.

ok, so what happened was while (after?) KDZing, the phone would bootloop while still plugged into computer. After unplugging, the phone wouldn't respond to anything; no boot, recovery, or even factory reset. So I then tried to factory reset while plugged into computer and it did give me the prompt and I went ahead with it...but the factory reset sequence never happened, i.e. no android pic, and the phone would continue to bootloop. I then plugged the phone into an outlet and the power button allowed the phone to boot up, but as soon as I unplugged it, the phone would shutdown again. But upon second boot up, which actually still required the phone to be charging via outlet, it seemed to be fine as I was able to unplug the phone and the phone remained on (battery was about 85% so the sudden shutdown from earlier made no sense). Anyways, I have factory reset the phone and all seems well...for now. *knock on wood*

Can't tell 100% since the maker havn't pushed any source, but since it's made for AT&T phone, i suppose only the red led will work.

I can't guarantee what will n what will not work. This kernel was dedighned for the at&t lgog. The e970. The lgog line of phones r fragmented. Some have multi color led others don't. At&t got a 8mp camera while some of you got 13mp. There gsm phones n cdma phones. The list goes on.

I've tried SK8's kernel before and I'm aware that the kernels are interchangeable minus the LED notification. But this is the only phone that I really don't care about OCing at the moment.

Oc is an option. You dont have to over clock. Personally I under clock n disable cores. There's more to the kernel then over clocking.

True but I have been following your original thread since you released initially. I'll wait till it's a little more mature. We need more collaboration for stock based kernels.
Hopefully you can figure out the random SOD issue!

Only red LED, no green LED. Missing that green LED notification light...
Actually, the notification light doesn't even come on at the moment unless it's charging, so it gets to blink red.
Not sure if this was caused by kernel, but under battery use it says that system UI has higher usage than screen

[HELP] Power off loop issue :(

So, lets cut to the chase here.
Was playing around with my CM10.1 powered Galaxy W when it shutsdown by itself when its on sleep mode.
I tried switching it back on and it just shows the "Samsung" brand name in verry short seconds and then repeats from the start. How to fix this manually? Am i suppose to go for SSC???

If you didn't install any custom kernel/mod/system tweak, then from CWM recovery, you could try the "wipe data/ factory reset" option. See if it helps in any way. Although...from what you're saying...looks like you've got some custom stuff in there. For this case, I'm afraid your only way out is by making a pristine install of that ROM.

I only flashed MonsterV15 ROM after i pristined everrything. Also, I can't go to CWM properly as my phone keeps rebooting. The boot sequence i guess is Samsung -> Model no. -> bootanime' but i can only go for the first step and then it reboots. Another thing i discovered is that my phone switches on by itself when i insert the battery

Well, both sound like ROM issues to me now. But apparently at least one of them (the reboot issue) should be fixed. So head over to the dev thread. Looks like there is some new stuff in there. Also if the auto-turn-on thing when inserting the battery is not fixed too, you might as well report this in that thread.

Uhm, actually, the auto-turn-on issue & reboot issue thing happens when i insert the battery as well. Also, i can assure you that this ain't ROM issue. Previously, when i used OneOfAKind ROM, i switched SIM cards and then the auto-turn-on issue & reboot issue happened from there. I left my phone and battery apart for a day and then tried putting it backand BOOM it came back to life. So from there, hoping tht THANG won't happen again in my whole life, i pristined installed MonsterV15 and all went well when the THANG happened once more and i ended up heree .___.

Standard battery? Could you try with another (maybe stock) battery. Also...does it happen with any CM version?
This ain't software related....it's hardware related.....guaranteed.
It's a faulty power button.
The power button is behaving as if it were being continuously held in.
If you continually hold the power button on a normally booting W I bet you could replicate these exact symptoms. The results would be the same on insertion of the battery too.....
I answered an identical question a few weeks ago in this forum....and having done some research on the issue, I can tell you the only way you're going to fix it is take it to a service centre where they'll replace the entire main board......the power button is soldered directly to it.....
I'm guessing you can't successfully enter download mode either? So flashing back to stock beforehand isn't an option either....that shouldn't be a problem though.....if you can't get the phone to boot, they won't be able to either.....so they won't be able to tell what OS you're running. Even if they can, there's NO WAY they can argue that running a cusROM caused the power button to fail. Don't forget that the warrantee on Samsung phones is 2 years........

yea... I totally agree with keithross39. it's hardware related... Me and @hurtsky have this problem before too~ what i did is, insert the battery (and it will power on automatically). then spam the power button while it's booting... and it successfully booted (because the power button is not 'holding' anymore), you will see the reboot dialog pop out or screen turning on and off automatically. If you are lucky (like me) i fixed it myself by spamming the power button add don't press the power button anymore.... For now, I use the notificationbar's widget as screenoff, use terminal emulator to reboot or reboot recovery. I know that's weird, But I don't want to send it samsung because my phone is not original, it's AP
