Hello guys,
I was just checking the phone while suddenly after locking and unlocking with the power button it didnt react. It was all freezed and didn't react at anything. I took off the battery and placed it on, turn up the phone but it stopped at the unlocking mode with no wallpaper at all. Did the same thing 4 times with no results. Then tried connecting to the PC, but with no results too. Btw the network is ok, shows the incoming calls!
P.S. The battery was very hot, and the battery app notification was showing fast reduction of the battery level...
Help guys! Thanks!

You can do much more with your desire ^^
pro is that you will never have space problems apps can be moved to sd card much better than with the froyo app2sd and you are up to date with your android version 2.2.3 Gingerbread is working very nice und 4.0 ics is in dev... full control of your phone complete backup of your working rom and all apps with data. If your rom crashes youst restore it to the time it works
cons some roms have some bugs like no working gps but with scripts you can fix it by yourself.
you got no warrantee if it crahses. so much that you cant move it back to stock.
usb brick is also possible but with the 4ext recovery and the great community of XDA you can repair it
for me the space problem, the costum look and the full control on my phone are the reasons to root my phone
now its your turn to root or root not

Basically my HTC Desire HD about 6 months old now has had pretty much nothing go wrong.
But today after using my phone all day it has decided to give up! I have called my phone and it rings and lights up but I still cant slide down the screen to pick up the phone.
The top button works to light up the screen but when I try to slide down the lock screen the phone does not respond.
The phone hasn't frozen because the top button works, I think it is a problem with the screen.
Firstly I would know if anyone understands what I am saying and if anyone else has experienced this problem.
Finally is there any solution to this problem?
Have you tried to force shutdown and restart the phone? Or the lockscreen is not responsive at all in the restart attempt?
8penned from my blazing fast DHD
When you say forced shut down you mean taking the battery out right? Because I've done that soo many times and the result is no different!
Surly it can not only be my phone to have this problem!
I had this issue before, the screen was totally unresponsive. Wiping and flashing rom didn't do the job, even nandriod backup didn't do the job. The solution was to install an ruu.

Cheers for all the help but I've fixed it now, I left it on charge all night hoping it would spring into life but no this didnt work!
Then I took the sim card out and switched the phone on and the screen became responsive. At the same time I did this I also pushed hard on the back of the screen.
So I dont know whether the force fixed it or taking the sim out did. Personally I think it was removing the sim but I have no idea why that helped.

Hi,
I'm a new member here. This is also my first android phone I ever had. I've searched if someone already has similar problem, but I didn't find any thread with the explanation so I decided to make a new thread.
Here is the situation:
I have Wildfire S, system is updated to android 2.3.5 ; software number 2.26.169.1
My problem is unlocking. Sometimes, when I press unlocking (power) button at the top of the phone light doesn't appear on the screen (only sensor buttons are lighten at that moment). After that I put my finger where ring lock should be shown and slide my finger up, and the phone unlocks... After pressing the power button at the top of the phone I should be able to see my screen (it should turn on), but that doesn't happen every time. I tried with restarting the phone. After restarting it works fine, but the same thing happens again lately.
Phone came with android 2.3.3. To solve the problem, I tried factory reset after the upload to 2.3.5 (thought it is going to return system to 2.3.3) but software version stayed on 2.3.5
If anyone knows how this could be solved, please tell me.
Thanks!

Are you running a custom rom, if you are, then i suggest you set your min frequency at about 200mhz. If you are using stock, unrooted, i suggest you take it to the HTC service center to get it fixed or better still, root it and enjoy the limitless possibilities of android! :good:
Thanks

Thanks for the replay. It is stock ROM. As I said I recently started using android. I'm not familiar with all of that possibilities it has. I'll consider what to do. Anyway thanks a lot!
In addition to your above mentioned problem I also had problems with the unlock screen. Sometimes it doesn't unlock easily and I hav to pull the ring 4 or five times to unlock it

Hi guys, i have a big problem on my htc desire hd. Its rooted, S off etc. Cca. two weeks ago htc starts restarting. I thought its a battery problem, couse i tested it 1 months ago and it has only 200mah. So i bought new battery, but its the same. When i charging the device, it does not restart never. When stop charging... restarts. When i using the device (browsing web, texting, etc) its fine, it doesnt restart. When stop using... restarts. These restarts keeps repeating every couple of seconds. Then i hard reset my phone, doesnt work. Then flash with CM 10.1, manually install kernel, but is the same. I dont know what more can i do. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks and sorry for bad english
News When phone goes to sleep mode (black screen), it shuts down. I cannot wake it up, if i press power button, it just booting again.
In recovery it does not restart.
just installing another custom rom (try SVHD v2.1.0) from recovery..don't forget to full wipe/factory reset except the sd card..before installing any custom rom..
hope this help..
I already installed 3 new roms, but there is no difference. Now just shuts down when idle. If i use the device, is ok. If i press power button (sleep), i cannot wake it up anymore. ALWAYS:crying:
Is this behavior also happen on the stock rom or arhd rom? Try flashing them and see whther the same problem occurs

sorry for that too..so this is cleared that's problem is not from phone software but related from the phone hardware itself..
hope your phone will be fixed soon..
Yes, it seems so. Its strange... when charging si all ok, when using the phone is all ok, the problem is only when dont charging + idle together.
No such things
Cm 10.1 works well on mine.
