Cm 10.1 mms - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I have two questions relating to MMS on CM 10.1:
First off I just installed the 03042013 M2 Build and it was a clean install including formatting data and internal storage.
1) I am wandering is mostly everyone still using CDMA/EvDo auto instead of LTE/CDMA/EvDo under Network Mode to get MMS to work?
That is the only way I can get MMS to send/receive.
I have tried toggling back and forth. It does not make a difference whether I am on WiFi or not but, will only work on CDMA/EvDo.
2) I see a bunch of people using different MMS .apk's from AOKP and other ROMS which one is working best for you guys that doesn't have such horrible compression. I don't mind having MMS compressed as long as its not to the point where the image is grainy once sent.
Thanks.

MMS only works for me without LTE so i just use go sms whenever i need to send/receive an mms. go sms gives you an option to send with less compression but the stock mms app can be modded easily to allow higher resolution/file sizes to be sent.

[Q] Boost Mobile MMS Settings

Changing the MMS server setting on Sense is pretty easy and straight forward but I've yet to figure out how to get it working on AOSP.
I've searched everywhere and tried every setting available and I still can only receive pictures but not send them. I've tried editing the APN's through the voice command, I've tried apps from the market and no matter what settings I try, I can't send a MMS message.
Has anyone been able to figure out how to do this without using a 3rd part SMS app?
people have claimed to of been able to get it working with apn restoring but I've only been able to get it working with go messenger
they claimed if you backed up the apn settings in a Sense ROM and restored that same backup in an AOSP ROM the default messanging client would work with mms, I never got it to work.

cm10.1 mms tips and fixes (sprint).

My mms tips thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2192633. Just used this today to send pics to a friend (confirmed on 20130316 nightly of CM10.1 epic 4g on Sprint). Modem FC09 or FC19 works (I use the latter these days - seems faster). No other mods.
CM10.1 native Sprint MMS workarounds and fixes - (I've been able to send and receive pics with this couldn't do with 10.0 or prior CM's)
a) turn off wi-fi while it sending. Would be nice if it could work with wifi as stock GB did but for now it is what it is. Wifi is a MMS killer in this case.
b) if photo stuck in sending, long-press on photo and choose edit and don't do anything but hit send button. Sometimes this alone will get it to send as long as wifi is off and you have 3g connectivity
c) if still stuck forward photo to the same user or yourself (preferable) and then forward again to yourself. On the 2nd forwarded pic, repeat step B above. This by far has done it for me.
Once the pics start to send it will send all and receive all too including those stuck in sending. Sometimes you seem to have to send a pic (even to yourself) in order to receive pics. Sometimes I'll receive pics from days or weeks back. Try reboot as well with wifi off. NOTE : Must have 3g connectivity. can leave auto-download MMS settings enabled it will work still.
This has worked really well on Sprint 10.1 Epic CM build 20130120 and higher including M2 for me (in fact the best build for MMS I've had since cm7, albeit still buggy, as native app on original sprint rom didn't require all this messing around.
This is the last remaining glitch on an otherwise perfect epic 4g for me (i don't use BT). Anyone know - Is this a problem with CM in general or just this phone? For example If I upgrade to Sprint S3 am I likely to face same issue if install CM10.1?
i finally gave up and needed a more reliable solution. Handcent SMS from the play store (free) seems to be it. Glitch-free MMS. Set it as your default messaging device which it does automatically post install, delete your old icon and use it. Make sure to check the "Split 160" option to enabled in application settings to avoid garbled text if sending a long message (this was a problem I had before with GoSMS, which probably has this setting too, just wasn't aware of it then).
I should have done this years ago. Maybe someone can reverse engineer what Handcent is doing that allows for flawless MMS over wifi and 3g/4g. Or will the newly released JB for epic4gTouch reveal any clues.

Can't send/receive MMS - CM10.1.2 E975K

Hey all,
I have had CM installed for a while now on my Australian E975K (currently on 10.1.2).
I have never been able to send or receive MMS, and it's really starting to bug me.
I believe that my APNs are 100% correct, confirmed by my network provider (Vaya, who use Optus APNs). I have two, an internet one, and an MMS one. The blue radio button next to the internet one is highlighted.
I can take screenshots of the settings if needed, but as I said I have triple checked that they are correct.
When I try and send an MMS (through the default Messaging app), it hands on "Sending". The network status indicator will flash, and if I go to Status in System settings, I can see that it is switching constantly between "LTE" and "Unknown". It will stay like this until I Delete the MMS I am attempting to send, and reboot the phone.
MMS worked fine on stock.
Any ideas?

I've been searching for a solution to this for some time. There does not seem to be a fix as such, but there is a work around.
Here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36511884&postcount=14
As far as I can tell the reason is that ASOP roms do not have an option for WAP 2.0 (which is what Optus use) only IPv4 & IPv6.
Essentially you remove "mms" from the "type" in the MMS APN. Then you can actually select the MMS APN. Now you need to manually swap APNs whenever you want to use DATA or MMS. Annoying, but it works for me anyway...

[Q] Auto Retrieve MMS - Not Working?

I am currently running CarbonRom(9/07) nightly, and wonder if anyone else was experiencing issues with MMS not auto-retrieving? I have limited data per month, and usually keep it off so I don't have overages. ROMS that I have used in the past would automatically enable my data to download pictures or group messages, however this is not the case for this ROM.
I have enabled the group messaging, auto-retrieve, and roaming auto-retrieve options for MMS, but still no luck.
Any advice on how to have this automatically enable data to download pictures?

Verizon HTC One CM11 APN Settings

Alright, here's my story, after switching from Sense to CM11 when I first got my HTC One a few months ago things were working alright, then at some point I lost the ability to send or receive mms messages. I looked online and found that there were a few people with the same problem, most said the problem had to do with the apn settings, the solution to was either modified apn settings or using an alternate messaging program, such as 8sms.
Anyways, I tried several different apn setups to try and get my mms back, my LTE internet worked, but no mms. Eventually I found a setup that allowed me to send a mms to someone, but not receive one. I figured that was a good as I was going to get it.
After a few OTA nightly updates I decided to tinker with the apn settings again; my hope being that one of the new nightlies would have fixed the problem if I restored my apn settings to default. This didn't help and cost me the ability to even send mms. Needless to say I scoured the web to find usable apn settings again (I prefer to use the stock messaging app), eventually I ended up Frankensteining several together and found a solution that allowed for me to send and receive mms, as well as my LTE internet!:laugh::laugh:
[TL/DR]
Found APN settings that enable sending and receiving mms, as well as LTE internet (with a lte subscription, it's not a hack or anything).
Android Version - 4.4.2
CM Version - 11-20140430-NIGHTLY-m7vzw
