Forums sorting - About xda-developers.com

When I first open xda on phone or tablet and haven't subscribed to any forums it is very hard to find the forum I am looking for. Example I open the app, I click forums, I then have to scroll down looking very close to see Samsung Galaxy tablet 2 our Samsung epic 4g touch. Is there a better way of doing this?
Thanks

You have the answer in the question.
Just add them to favourites.
There is nothing else you could do.
If you search, you only end up with threads in that forum and not the forum itself.

XDA APP and web site

This site rocks, the app does too. I actually use the app more for reading and the website for posting (keyboards rock too btw)
The APP has a big advantage over the website, Participated Threads. Makes it a lot easier to track threads without subscribing to them.
Rocking place, has really come a long way in a short time.
best app ever
Pretty damn good app. I think; I'm using it right now and I use it on my phone a lot more than the computer; if I see something interesting like an application, ill go on the site.

Wait till you see the XDA Premium Android app =D. It's almost done! We're hoping it'll be ready by March 1.
Preview:
- Ad Free
- Custom XDA skin
- Ability to collapse status bar to get more screen real estate
- Ability to "add a shortcut" to specific forum right on your Android homescreen
- More goodies!
=D

Great news! So this will be a new app, not an update of XDA App?

Definitely looking forward to this.
I just wish the Android Market allowed you to "subscribe" to a developer and get an email when something new is uploaded. Niche feature, but I think it would be fairly useful.
New app coming... booyeah. If it keeps the 'participated threads tab' then I'll buy it no question.

It will be a totally new app that will cost money, but not much.
Speaking of this great app (vs. The web site) is there a reason that when following links to other XDA thread posts from the XDA app sometimes the new thread opens in the app and sometimes it opens in a browser?
Just curious...

good app
this is good
Android Experience.
I love the app, am a big user. Hate the force closes that come with it. E.G. if you receive a phone call or press home while in the app and do something else for awhile, when you go back in it usually results in a force close.
One other thing I've noticed, on HTC phones, Sense roms (2.2+) actually correctly upload pictures in the XDA app. AOSP roms almost never upload it correctly, even though the file format is correct. Kinda sucks.
I definitely love the Participated Threads functionality, however.

Would be nice to see better search. The one now sux.
I like the xda app as well. I would like better search (i.e. search from within a forum), and a bit more info about a post to see if it is closed for example.
Great community, running my first non stock ROM (Paragon) and very impressed.

If you hit refresh while looking at the main forums (General, Marketplace, Win8, etc) it should find it there too
I think you can also just tap on Samsung Galaxy Nexus > Menu > Refresh and it will check for forum changes.

I tried that earlier and it wouldn't show up
But the method in OP worked fine and it wasn't that inconvenient

[REQUEST] remove swipe up from nav bar

Was gonna post this in development but didn't wanna get flamed.
Is it possible to remove the swipe up from nav bar action?
I'm always accidentally doing that when scrolling & such. I'd like to keep Google now, just remove the shortcut.
I searched to no avail, just talk of changing the shortcut & removing Google now.
If someone could point me in the right direction ill do it myself, I just don't know where to start.
Thanks in advance for any advice! I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this..

And thank you for not doing that !
Instead of openning a new thread, u could've just posted in one of the already available Google Now threads.

Its possible, but the Google now code is not open source. So you'd have to remove it, then code an app to mimic the swipe up.
I'm not looking to use another app, just remove the shortcut all together so swiping up from the nav bar doesn't do anything at all.
I'm constantly opening Google now by mistake when scrolling

You can kinds of disable it using SwipeLaunch Disabler.
https:/play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hk.sld.SwipeLaunchDisabler
Just disable Google Search in Settings > Apps > All, no need to install anything................
If your ROM has navbar shortcuts, you can just set the shortcut for Google Now to be blank. You'll still get the ring if you swipe up, but there'll be no apps on it for you to accidentally open.

Strange...never had this problem for couple years while using custom roms.

Missing forum

I'm currently using the XDA Premium app for android yet in the list of device forums I can't find the one for the Galaxy Note 2 yet when viewing via the website it's there.
Any idea why I can't see it?

Log out of your profile on the app then log back in, should appear then. ← This always works for me.
If that doesn't work, reinstall the app.
