Galaxy W Recovery - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hello guy's
I'm in need to help a friend that own a galaxy w but since i've being working on Galaxy Ace and SII my focus goes to them
theferor i would like to get your opinion to wich is the best custom recovery so i can flash the custom rom "VeloxROM" from stock 2.3.6
Clockwork Mode 6 or 5
or the Razr Recovery
also i have a doubt ... does the galaxy w have a binary counter?
Thanks and sorry for the trouble!

For me cwm 5 is good enough...

CWM 6 is the latest. Razr hasn't been updated for a loooooong time.
Alternatively, use TWRP. I've been using it to flash CM9 RC4 and RC6, no problems whatsoever.

What were the steps you took to get it to work? I keep on getting boot loops. This is what I have done..
1- wipe everything x2
2- flash paranoid rom
3- flash kernel (Eugene cm9 v4)
4- flash auto rotate fix
And then I just get a boot loop

I second that!. You should tell us everything, including the exact rom names where you got them and your procedure. Because we could help you figure out where you went wrong. And if you did everything right then it should be brought up!

What recovery was on when u flashed.
I think you might flash a Rom which is not built for Tmo GS2. Keep in mind that Tmobile Galaxy S2 T989 is completely different from International S2 i9000, or other variants except Skyrocket from AT&T.

I hear what your saying bout the roms but idk if I'm gonna root it again I'm fearful of hard bricking another phone
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Well, why not just root it and use just rooted apps. Instead of loading your phone with roms instead of doing an experienced job, do a beginner job. Save yourself the trouble, until you are educated on android; and brick your brain.

You never answered what roms and recovery u was using. I think u need to watch how to video on how to root and load recovery. Every rom has different steps according to the dev

I Dont Know What Recovery I Was Flashing Because I Just Rooted This Phone Coming From A Lg G2x (which I Succesfully Rooted & Unrooted).......I Think It's 6.0.1.9 & The Rom I Flashed Was
[ROM 4.1.2 - 4.2] JELLYBAM - v1.3.0 [08/12] [i9100] [PA.AOKP.CM10] [ATOMIC] [AROMA]

Not a big difference but a huge difference in how the phone files are installed. If u read the threads of the rom u like it will tell u use twrp or cwm. Some roms just dont load proper that is why the dev tells u what to use. I have had about 5 different droids and they all had different steps to load roms.

Nothing more
Flash cf auto root and flash with Odin for pda tab. And done.
Though you need to reset counter if you want to keep device ready to claim warranty.

[q] new for galaxy ace ii

Hey guys, sorry for asking very2 noobs question,I'm kinda new for this device, I used to on galaxy w GT-i8150 and now just bought new one here.
Question here, what step do I have to do if I want to flash CWM,custom rom, kernel,or whatever zip flashable. Does it same like GT-i8150 ( via cwm ). I'm a flasholic on that device device, and I would like to do that on this device, please advice guys, appreciate that
Note, I just rooted with superuserzip, using 4.1.2 with baseband i8160xxmb4 and kernel 3.0.31-978827

Exactly the same. Except the CWM for jellybean is temporary. You'll need to reflash the cwm everytime you want to use it.

if you're really a flashaholic then you'd know that it WILL work but using the same firmware/baseband version IS RECOMMENDED. Ah. Galaxy W(onder) ehh. ibanez7 was my inspiration to start theming for ace 2 back when it was still running GB;D
